OYO The Village Inn, Murton Seaham

Great value for money (Room Only). Easy car access to Seaham and the surrounding areas. Spar garage down the road do hot breakfast sandwiches/coffee/pasties, also breakfast at McDonalds is only a short ride away on Dalton Park Shopping Centre, or if venturing into Seaham, plenty of choice on the front. Owner, Staff and customers are super friendly and make you feel really welcome. Our 5th Stay this year, and wont be the last. (Oh, and they allow you to order takeaway food which you can eat in the pub)

Room 7 was a bit noisy on Saturday evening as there was a function on, but it didn't go on too late, so not a problem.

Booked as we were attending a wedding at the Pump House. Distance was super convenient (dalton park is 2 mins away for breakfast) and had a key for out of hours access once the pub had closed. Staff were lush, super accommodating and friendly. The room looked like it must have been renovated not too long ago. It was spotless and beds were SO comfortable. Didn’t expect it, but this place was excellent value and 100% recommend

Walls a tiny bit thin but the road outside isn’t busy and not too many guests for there to be much disturbance

Lovely place bed was very comfortable so was pillows. Although room was smaller than most places we have stayed wasn't a problem. Room was very clean and overall we had a great stay. The pub downstairs was brilliant with very friendly staff who were all great. The locals were very friendly and we both had a great night on Friday getting to know them all. Can't fault this place in anyway had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate going back. Thank you Sharon And Norrie Simpson.

Large family room, friendly staff, free wi-fi, clean and well priced. Would stay there again.

The radiator came on every evening for about an hour, even though it was turned to off. It was already warm so we slept under sheets rather than duvets. You could hear the pub quiz and music on the Thursday and Friday evenings, but it was only until about 10pm and was expected being above the pub. The shower in the family room could be improved - the pressure was quite low and the temperature fluctuated. However, for the price and availability these are just minor quibbles.

The rooms were absolutely spotless and had a lovely fresh smell. The in room facilities were top notch and the staff were friendly and accommodating. This is the second time I've stayed here and not only would I stay here again I would highly recommend it. A fair price, a great place to stay, it's one for the yes box

The only issue I had, and I feel this is nitpicky, if you have bulky luggage, the corridor to the rooms is very narrow and can be awkward. But again, I feel this is me being nitpicky

The Location is good. Room is clean and quiet even though there is a pub downstairs. Cannot hear noise in the room. Good environment and worth coming back again.

We left the place in early morning. We were a bit unsure on how to get out from the back. Fortunately, another couple leave the place at the same time so that we can follow the way out. Perhaps, better written instruction to be given instead through mouth explanation.

This was my first time staying in an OYO property and the Village Inn in Murton exceeded my expectations! The staff were very friendly; the en suite room was comfortable and super clean; bus stop was less than 1 minute away; pub has great choices @ great prices and as a solo traveler, I felt very safe!

The room could have used a hair dryer and the pub did get a bit noisy on Thursday and Friday night, but the noise died down by 11pm.

We had a medical emergency in the middle of the night,which required an ambulance. When I rang the emergency contact number for the property to get someone to open the front door for emergency services, I was told this wasn't possible, as " anyone could come in".this meant that when the ambulance arrived,I had to leave my elderly mother on her own,go down the fire escape and let them in.

I felt it was a shame to have a really friendly bar with a singer and such welcoming locals for a single lady travelling alone. And then to have the rule that the music has to stop at 10pm ... due to the guest rooms upstairs ? I believe 11pm is always the normal respectable time for music to stop anywhere else I have stayed.

Room was as described in the advert and photos. Very clean. Very comfortable bed and superb quilt. Staff were very friendly. Easy to check in and out. Able to park at property. Very good price

A little noisy in the room at night, but it’s above a pub so it was to be expected, and after midnight when pub shut it was quiet 🙂
