Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa

We enjoyed our stay, the room was pleasant enough and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room was supposed to be garden view not the car park. Telephone in the room did not work Television did not work with hd Lost TV signal completely in the morning. The toaster's did not work at breakfast time and three staff could not solve the problem another guest switched them on meanwhile breakfast was getting cold. Only allowed one hour in swimming pool even though it was almost empty.

Spa facilities and restaurants were great with plenty of choice

The reception staff not welcoming they just wanted payment and didn't give us any direction of where the facilities were.

Big room clean and well furnished

No garden patio furniture. Washing machines were going all night making it hard to sleep

Price on check in changed from my email booking. Did get resolved

We have been many times and that says everything about it. Lovely room . The gardens deserve a mention the team of gardeners have the whole place looking great.

My chicken dish in the Fusion restaurant was tough and I was disappointed. Booking system for the pool is strange , I was allocated a slot and had to wait 45minutes to get in , yet there was only a few people in the pool. When I said to the girl on the leisure centre desk that looking through the glass there were only a few people in the pool area , she just shrugged and said well that’s the system ? They now charge £40 for the use of the Hydrotherapy room and outside Hot tub .

We absolutely loved the “Englishness” of the place. the only hotel that could accommodate connecting rooms. I swam every morning in the spa pool - just really nice. Beds very comfortable.

Absolutely no sound insulation, so we could hear everything happening in the hallway and lounge. We where placed in a room for disabled, when we showered everything got wet in the bathroom. No natural place to hang the towel for drying after hand wash. Compared to the price, we probably expected a better standard, not that it was bad in any way, but we are Scandinavian so might expect more.

We were given a garden room, which was unexpected but so lovely to be able to sit out on the little patio with a drink watching the golf ponds. huge bath and shower. breakfast was ok, staple hotel breakfast. plentiful and very fresh. if you were looking for dinner recommendations, make sure you book in at the Rib Room. it was a lovely experience. the spa books up weeks in advance, so be mindful of checking their availability for treatments if you wish to use them.

When booking via booking.com it wasn’t entirely clear that we would have spa pool / sauna access included. I thought that because we didn’t book a package through their website we wouldn’t so I didn’t bring any swim wear - it was a lovely surprise but I was unable to use it at all which I’m really disappointed about as it looked brilliant.

Welcomed by staff. Had an awful day from getting caught in the rain in S Shields, so needed a good shower and something to eat. Last minute booking and the room was excellent there was a lovely atmosphere in the Rib Room and afterwards in the bar. Breakfast was very good and staff service was spot on

I think the signage gets lost on the walls in the hotel as it blends in. I had gone into the rib room thinking it was the carvery. Poached eggs in the morning are left too long and go hard so do less and freshen them up more. Take the tables out of the corridor to the restaurant. It’s too narrow. Appreciate they are blocking off access doors but think of something else. Door to bedroom was in need of a lift. It betrays the lovely bedroom it contains. These are all minor things on our stay

beautiful property and great spa & golf course & club house. having took our dog I can only say the positioning of our room with the rear door out of the room was fabulous. see the photo below of the outside… this was the view from out French doors on the ground level…. amazing. staff were friendly, helpful and always available.

the was nothing we did not like about the property however what would have improved our stay would have been for one of the restaurants/pub areas to be dog friendly. at the time we went the weather was nice but had it rained or been cold we could have not eaten or drunk as much as we did as we were only welcome with our dog outside. I think as you are happy to be Dog friendly in the rooms maybe the recreational side of dog friendly needs to be looked at. that being said, now we know the set up we would still return but only during months with nicer weather.

Beautiful hotel, staff amazing, service was second to none, bedroom stunning, spa fabulous & grounds were beautiful...it really was an outstanding hotel and one I will definitely come back to

Food was average. And I feel bad saying that because everything else was really special... but we ordered lunch when we arrived, i got a prawn sandwich which was just really fishy... almost didn't feel safe to eat the second half.. but i did and was fine so it wasnt off...just didnt taste great...then, breakfast again was just OK.ordered to the room.... toast was more like warm bread, egg yolks were almost solid, bacon was fatty and blackpudding cold. Was just such a shame because everything else during our stay was exceptional, even the presentation of the food was amazing... Having said this I would go back again. The food wasn't horrible just not brilliant like everything else!
