The Three Horseshoes is located in a pleasant village a few miles North East of Durham Town Centre. Both of our rooms were decorated very well indeed, were very clean and also very comfortable (with very soft towels, nice soaps, good tea/coffee making facilities, nice biscuits and drinking water). The staff were very friendly and helpful; Maddie in particular was amazing (so nice to talk to, helpful and provided an absolutely excellent level of service to our family). The restaurant food (evening meal and breakfast) was out of this world; good portion sizes and everything tasted so so so good. What an amazing find... we will definitely visit again.

We arrived in Durham by train and the Three Horseshoes was a £16 Uber ride from the station; having said that, it was in a good location if travelling by car. There was nothing else to dislike.

Breakfast was delicious, we enjoyed three evening meals and they too were delicious. Plenty of choice and staff and chef catered excellently for my food intolerances. Can’t commend staff enough for their professional and friendly approach including bar staff, waiters, waitresses and cleaners, all really pleasant and attentive. Food excellent and all good compliments to the chef. Bar was great and bar staff and customers all friendly. Location great.

Clothes rail over coffee making facilities. This area was poorly lit.

The 3H was perfect from start to finish; a friendly welcome and service throughout the stay, a lovely pub with a great atmosphere, and an outstanding b&b. The room was superbly fitted and furnished, there was an excellent shower and a very comfortable bed. The food was exceptional, both dinner and the breakfast. From pub to restaurant (both times), to the host's info about the room, everything was simply top notch. We would not recommend the 3H to anyone, but lve already booked for January next year.

Nothing; absolutely no complaints or issues.

The Three Horseshoes is a great place to stay. Lovely pleasant staff give this very busy place the added extra in our opinion. The bedroom we stayed in had excellent quality furnishings and was very comfortable. The breakfast was huge and nicely cooked.

Restaurant: The only thing that put us off was that the toast and butter were presented on the same plate!!! This was overpowering and the butter was melting - no side plates for the bread etc. Sadly this was the only thing that let this beautiful restaurant down.

the bedroom was immaculate and very comfortable bed. the breakfast was also exceptional but my overriding feeling about this place was that all the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. nothing was too much trouble. even when they had officially finished serving food, they were more than happy to facilitate us having something to eat outside of kitchen hours. the manner and smiles and genuine hospitality showed by all the staff is what sets this property above and beyond others

well don’t want to say too much or the price will go up or fully booked next time rooms immaculate food great young staff so happy & friendly.. bar Malcolm and his whiskey advice .. shame it was work otherwise would have enjoyed it more !!

don’t want it sound a negative but breakfast could do with being 30-60 mins earlier and though I appreciate the cleanliness.. bleach smell in morning was a little excessive but proves the cleaning being done

I have been travelling into the Durham area for over 4 years now as employer is based in the area. Up until now i have been using other locations. This is by far the most exceptional place i have been to and will continue to re-book here in future. Staff are very attentive, food is glorious and a fantastic selection of drinks. Room was clean, modern and very comfortable. AI cannot say anything else about the stay apart from the fact i WILL book again and regulalry.

Nothing not to like

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and well cooked. The fact that the restaurant was always busy speaks for itself as people mostly had to travel to get there.

It was nothing to do with the hotel but there were roadworks causing diversions which added miles onto your journey whenever we went into Durham etc. Not the hotels fault and didn't detract on how good the hotel is.

When we arrived it was to a lovely warm reception from the staff. The reception area, dining rooms and bedroom was so clean, so fresh and furnished so well. The food we had, breakfast, lunch and evening meal was super. Touches like the choice of crockery, artwork, bedding and general decor was a lovely surprise. Think boutique and you are in the right area. If I ever stay in the area, this will be my 1st choice, and I would have no hesitation in recommending The Three Horseshoes.

Absolutely nothing.

the room was beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable. The shower was excellent, as was the standard of everything in the room from the non mist mirror to the brand new hairdryer! The staff were really friendly and accommodating. We had dinner which was really exceptional and loads of choice. Breakfast was also lovely and a wide range of choices including vegetarian English and Eggs Royale with expertly poached eggs and real hollandaise. couldn’t fault it at all and free on-site parking too.
