Fairhaven Guest Accommodation

The environment of the accommodation is very ambient and homely. The breakfast was really amazing! Very sumptuous and I would always look forward to a morning chit chat with Tad, who is a very friendly and jolly host. The rooms were very clean! Oh! I loved the smell of the bedding! Tad was very caring and attentive to all the guests. I remember, after my first night it was very cold, and when I requested for an extra duvet, he availed it by the second night. So the responsiveness to the guests requests are top notch!

The aspect of replenishing the drinking water in the rooms can definitely be improved. The showers had little water pressure. This can be improved on as well.

Fairhaven was an excellent place to stay for the World Championships this week. A 20 min walk to the University. Beeston train station beside us and the brilliant light rail only a 10 min walk away. Tad was a welcoming and friendly host. We were served up a delicious cooked breakfast all included in the good value rate. He always remembered my preferences even with 20 other guests to feed! There was a friendly international feel to the place and I found the info re restaurants and taxis displayed in the hall really useful. I had to change to a single room at the last minute and Tad really tried to secure an ensuite for me but was unable to, due to the high demand. I found it a safe place to stay on my own and that was so important to me, as my family had booked into accommodation nearby. Will definitely recommend to friends for the future. Thanks Tad!

The location of the hotel was a few miles from where we needed to be but we chose this venue because of its value for money as we didn’t want to pay the extortionate fees charged by the city centre hotels. There were 6 of us staying in 4 rooms. All our rooms were modest in size but each one was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast ( which is now optional and not included when booking ) was very tasty and well cooked. One of our group had the vegetarian cooked option and he said it was wonderful.

Don’t really have much to complain about. The on site car park is very small so it is a case of first come first served but that is not much of an issue as there is parking available on the side streets. The en-suite in our room was very compact but it was clean and well provisioned so even that wasn’t really an issue.

It was a great stay. The room comfortable for one person, with a desk and all basic facilities. English breakfast every day with a selection of cereals as well. WiFi mostly OK, except the last day that I could not get online, but I had mobile data, so not a big deal. The location great, walking distance from Beeston and a few steps away from Nottingham by train.

Host was great, nothing was too much trouble. Whilst we were there he assisted a lady from Brazil with her travel arrangements. The room was basic but adequate and clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant, all freshly made and more than worth the cost asked. Altogether a great stay with a tremendous host in what can be described best as a good traditional guest house.

What's not to like at £76:00 a night with breakfast these days. If you are unable to climb stairs easily then this is not the place for you, there is no lift, wasn't a problem for us but for some could be.

In Nottingham for work, Fairhaven was a convenient location and the host was welcoming. I was in single budget room which was compact but clean and comfortable and had all I needed.

Heating was a bit much for me personally and I couldn't find a way of changing it but you can't please everyone and I'm sure someone else found it too cold! This was a minor thing as I would and I am staying again.

I really liked the large UK flag carpet in that tiny room. The room was warm, clean and comfortable. And the landlord is a very friendly and helpful person! If you need a place where you can just lay yourself to sleep and are aware that bathroom is few steps away from the room, this is the place that you need. I couldn't find anything cheaper nearby and I'm quite happy with my stay.

I had to wake myself up at 4:30 AM to get ready for my flight, but it has nothing to do with the hotel ;) (also the airport bus stops a few minutes on foot from the hotel)

This is the third time that we have stayed at the Fairhaven. It is good, straightforward, no nonsense accommodation at a fair price. The rooms are compact. but have everything that we need. The breakfast is well-cooked and sets you up for the day! The Landlord is friendly and attentive. If you need a good base for exploring the city, or the wider area, this is ideal.

On site parking is limited. On two of our three visits we have had to park on the street, but we haven't encountered any problems.

Warm welcome, despite very late arrival. Breakfast efficiently served, quantity and quality both good. The room was a little small but adequate. A slightly larger table would have been helpful, I was working with two laptops during the morning and evening.

Soap in the bathroom would have been welcome. It wasn't easy to fill the kettle at the basin. I didn't try filling it at the shower.

I like the back to basics environment with minimum fuss. The host makes you feel at ease and was pleased to see me back again. We had a proper conversation about how busy he is with bookings. Breakfast is great. Piping hot when served to you with fresh tomato and mushrooms. The room was not serviced, during my stay but I like that as it means the space is your own. I assume somebody checks that you still have coffee and tea available in the room.

I wouldn't say there is anything I didn't like. There is room for improvement by refreshing the decor if that worries you. Fairhaven suits me well as it is inexpensive, basic and the host is very friendly .
