Hart's Hotel

The location is perfect, a short walk to the castle and the City Centre, easy to find and onsite parking. Friendly staff, easy check in and out. The hotel is very smart inside and out without being formal or fussy. It has an intimate feel to it. Breakfast is excellent if a little expensive. Our room was immaculate with everything you could want, a good sized bathroom, well equipped, lovely towels, the shower was excellent and easy to operate.

Our standard room was, perhaps, a little small. There is no air conditioning. I’m being hyper critical with those comments. We stayed over a very hot weekend, the likes of which we seldom experience in the UK. There is plenty of venting and windows to open, plus the room had an electric fan so we were quite comfortable.

This is a lovely hotel. It is a four minute walk from the centre of Nottingham, but in a very quiet area. The view from our garden room was lovely and the garden, with views across the city was an added bonus. The lady on reception couldn't have been more helpful and it was nice to phone a hotel and the call be answered by reception, without having to be placed on hold and go through an automated system. We will definitely use this hotel again.

The breakfast was expensive and was not included in the price. The cost was £12 per person, with a £5 surcharge for a cooked breakfast.

The Reception team were so warm and friendly when I & my muddy dog arrived after a long day at the Rowing Regatta . We were made to feel welcome & I was given help with the luggage which when you are tired you really appreciate . I also liked how uplifting the room decorations were with a pretty yellow / lime colour. I liked the garden a lot & the beautiful view . Parking was not obvious but I got help from the team to find a good space The best of all other than the view was the food which was absolutely delicious .. I ate in my room as I was tired after a long day in the sun watching rowing & a lot of walking . The young girl serving went to great lengths as did the chef to make sure each course was served at the perfect temperature . The Turbot with wild garlic purée & Mori led was absolutely perfect and really delicious as a spring dish . The Panama cotta with Rhubarb likewise. I rarely have puddings but was drawn in by the rhubarb which was really perfectly balanced between sweet & sour . I have talked to everyone I know about the hotel as it was really a joyful , pleasant stay with charming people & the most delicious food . Really Nothing was too much trouble & this really made me feel happy & well looked after . I was not expecting such good food or such good service as I did not know the hotel & just booked on booking.com but I will now make a point of always returning to this hotel . It really felt exceptional & I would like to thank everyone for making my stay such a pleasure . Reception & the chef made me a special delicious picnic for my second day at the rowing which was so thoughtfully & beautifully done . I was very impressed by this & it was a real pleasure . Thank you to everyone .

Parking was hard to find on a first visit but the hotel helped me

Everything was great. It was a surprise 60th birthday for my wife. We were able to get into our room early which was nice to drop off the bags. The birthday card from the hotel was a nice touch and wasn't expected. Made my wife cry. Reception booked a taxi for us and specified to the taxi driver not to reveal the location to Bistro Live where when she arrived she was gob smacked to see all our family and friends there to celebrate with her. Told we could leave our car in the car park until 3pm the next day which was nice so we could continue the celebration weekend around the city. All in all very glad i chose the hotel and i will most definitely choose you again if staying in Nottingham. Thanks again for helping in making my wife's 60th birthday celebration a most enjoyable never to forget experience.

Location and room was excellent and very good very value for money. Close enough to walk to bars etc. Tram and train stations also close which is very handy. Hotel has parking onsite (some of the other hotels in the area do not have onsite parking).

Breakfast option was expensive (including a supplement for cooked breakfast) so did not partake in this. Better priced breakfast options would be welcomed, especially if you only want something very light or quick. There was also a supplement added on for car parking (I did not notice this on the website when booking) which I was not expecting (It may have been just the case that I missed this when booking). The supplement however was £9.95 which is less than you would pay if having to use a multi-storey.

Rachael on reception was so upbeat and friendly,she made me feel comfortable and happy from the moment I walked in. The location was superb set in park grounds,with amazing views of the city.The hotel is so clean and tidy,it has a nice feel about it. The bar area is warm and cosy. Good secure car parking with easy access into the hotel. The location is excellent for major attractions. The town square is only 5 minutes walk,the castle is literally on the door step

There wasn't anything not to like

The location is super - central, yet quiet Easy car-parking right outside The view from our room window was fantastic! The bed was really comfy The breakfast was good, albeit possibly a little overpriced, and the staff were helpful and attentive.

The room was a little smaller than we expected, though it was clean and comfortable, and only one sachet of caffeinated coffee was provided for the little cafetière (which I had to mend to avoid grouts in the cups), which didn’t quite make 2 cups of coffee - in such an otherwise well appointed hotel, a little more generosity in the tea / coffee offering would have been welcomed.

Everything was excellent! It’s a well-maintained building on a quiet street in an upscale neighborhood, but it’s only a few minutes walk to Nottingham’s best attractions and city centre. The room was clean and comfortable with excellent views. What makes Hart’s special enough to get 10s across the board are the staff. Every person we interacted with - front of house, restaurant, housekeeping, etc - was efficient, accommodating, welcoming, professional and very pleasant. It’s not the cheapest hotel in the city, but it is excellent value.

Honestly…nothing.

Exceptional staff, very helpful and friendly, you felt they couldn't do enough for you. We had a sandwich lunch with coffee and a drink on our arrival and it was very good quality and enjoyable. The breakfast was also very good.

The biggest disappointment was the size of the bar/restaurant it looked on the website as if there was a proper bar but it is not really a bar just a few stools in a restaurant. I prefer an independent hotel and usually book one with a decent bar so that we can have drinks before and after our evening but this would not have been possible as it was not a bar. The restaurant was very nicely appointed but extremely small and although we booked our breakfast there wasn't enough room and we were offered to eat in the reception area. We did wait and were looked after very well and brought tea but its not really what you hope for, particularly if you have to rush off.

The scenery from the top floor rooms is breathtaking, especially at night. Although the room size could be larger, it was very clean. All things considered, staying here was a very pleasant experience!

The Google Map in this region is occasionally odd to me. I initially thought it was only twenty minutes of walking on a flat surface. The Google map prompted me to take a little sideroad with steps to the hotel, located at the mountain's peak. It was dark on the road to this little road at night so... Anyway, I learned the next morning that there was a straight route downhill without crossing the sideroad. It's more like an issue with Google Maps in this area in general. It is not easy to view height on Google Maps. So do your homework and figure out how to get there easily. Of course, taking an Uber, which is about six pounds from the railway station, is the easiest way to go. Some walls are thin and I could hear my neighbor's snoring, but it's ok.
