The Cotswold is a budget hotel so anyone expecting The Ritz (as some reviewers seem to have) will be disappointed. For those more realistic, who expect a little less for the price they paid, they won't be disappointed. The room was clean; the bed was fine; the bathroom included loo, sink and shower - all clean; you get tv, coffee and free wifi; nice staff, it was quiet; there's lots of shops and places to eat locally, including a Wetherspoons just a 5-10 minutes walk away on the same road. Overall, I was very happy with everything.

There's limited parking outside the hotel but instead you can park in the pub car-park across the road. I was a little apprehensive about leaving the vehicle there but it was fine

The room was basic and small but great value for money and very clean!!! I was in Nottingham for a stag do and I had 2 nights for very cheap. The staff were so friendly and helpful, helping me order food after a late night out, sorting out taxis and were friendly every time I passed reception. Hotel on the main drag into the city too which was a plus. It's not 5 star but if you need cheap , cheerful, clean and friendly it's perfect!!

Nothing really. I did wish they did breakfast though.

Location was great not far from the city and the train station , the room was Amazing beautiful decoration spacious and very comfortable very good value for money.

I Didn't like the approach of the manager regarding the payment method via booking.com plus to be asked to leave my room key if going out which i felt was abit strange as a guest so felt abit uncomfortable after that staying here but i still ended up having a good stay.

The room was comfortable and clean, looking as though it has been refurbished in recent times. The reading light fitting above the desk and the beds were broken and need replacing. The bathroom was clean and well fitted, the shower worked well. Thet do not provide fooe (breakfast) but there is cafe just across the road and the hotel is near to restaurants, in particular The Masala Junction is an excellent Indian restaurant and the famous Cod's Scallop fish and chip shop is again just across the road. There is no need to deriv in toe the centre as the are pleanty of busses going into the city, which is about a ten minute ride away and coming back of course.

Reading lights not working, otherwise it was as much as I had expected.

Very convenient free parking outside. Speedy check in, I thought I had to search my emails for the booking ref but receptionist just took my name and found my room straight away, great! The room was the right size for single guest small and cosy presented really well. I really liked the shower room. The toilet comfortable to sit on, sink the right average size, the shower was the best of all very spacious. Had all the facilities free wifi, TV, kettle and plenty of tea and coffee to last longer than your stay. Bed was comfortable, it is orthopaedic. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thanks to all staff at Cotswold.

The only bad point is I could hear the traffic from the main road. Next time I will ask for a room at the back of the building.

location convenient, price good. Excellent first impression from friendly owner at desk, made to feel welcome.

Very basic accommodation, lots of minor repairs needed (told the owner bought it about 18 months ago and work is progressively being done to bring it up to scratch). Bur very clean which is more important. Bedding basic, single thin quilt which, on a very cold night, was barely adequate (extra blanket to supplement would have been good). But radiator was on all night so not too bad. No breakfast available, not sure if this is a short term or permanent situation, but knew that before and not a problem, Parking very limited on-site so best to arrive early. Sorry, this seems rather negative, but I was quite happy with my stay.

Double bed in room was one of the comfiest I have ever slept on. Room size was very good with good size bathroom. Staff very helpful with key information and very polite. Breakfast was not an option but we were pointed in the right direction to the local Wetherspoons that did a very good breakfast for the both of us. The lack of the breakfast option was made clear on the website when booking so I was aware. This was also reflected in the price of the room with it being lower than other options that I found in my search. Parking full in front of the Cotswold but parking free over the road. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room.

Was looking forward to a relaxing drink in the bar at the end of the working week and a long journey but only found when we arrived, unlike the breakfast situation, that the bar was not now open. This was still being advertised on the website. Didn't want to take my 13 year son out to a pub 10pm on a Friday night so a minus point for the Cotswold.

The room was comfortable with plenty of storage. Owner was friendly and helpful and had the best Taxi service to hand in any hotel I have ever stayed in.

We visited in the Summer and it was hot.The room had no window, we had to leave the bathroom window open but unfortunately it didn't make a lot of difference.and although that was unavoidable due to building layout a would suggest an electric fan is provided for the Summer months. My only niggle though.

Good location, basic but fine. Friendly staff, Clean. Comfy bed. Room + furnishings could do with upgrading, renewing. Also, busy front road, so could do with modern windows to keep out traffic noise, and karaoke from the pub opposite! Value for money, I'd stay there again for a couple of nights.

Old, original windows made it noisy, replace with modern, upvc, double glazed windows please! And, the Ikea furniture is worn out, (room 22), cheap enough to replace with new, from Ikea.

Comfy bed, nice room.

Windows were very thin- could hear people coming back from a night out all night long. When I checked in the staff member asked if it was just me staying, I said yes. They asked if I was going out, I said no. The staff member looked me up and down and said I can’t bring anyone back. Bit judgemental based on my age/appearance? Considering I was there for an event the next day too.
