Free on site parking. Nice large room with ample storage if required. All rooms upstairs on the first floor (... just for anyone with any mobility issues ...) fine for us as always prefer to be upstairs :+) Nice little village pub. Very busy and good to see it so ... if it's busy it must be good. Restaurant busy but still got table for meal. Meals were lovely ... both evening meal and full English breakfast following morning. Would have no hesitation returning if in the area again. Think all rooms also booked up for that night. Nice to see a pub doing well. EVEN THE WEATHER WAS OK!!! ;-) Had a nice walk around the village.

Lovely staff especially Richard who is a great front of house. Food nice and overall restaurant was good.

Rooms are in desperate need of updating. There were obvious signs that the room had not been cleaned properly since the last people left. Wall paper and headboards were also dirty and curtains were in need of repair. Health and Safety were an issue this time also as we had loose tiles on the bathroom floor and one side the shower door was off the rollers. It's a great place to stay if you don't mind these issues as we have done in the past however this time it was a bit too much so unfortunately we won't stay again but will happily book in at the restaurant.

Nice sized room, excellent staff. Breakfast superb as was dinner on the night we ate there. Parking on street outside (as not room in small car park) but that did not matter as there was always a space.

Did not like a glass door between ensuite and bedroom. The rooms could do with updating in terms of decor ...and dusting in places but neither of these points is enough to stop us staying again as the very good far outweighs them! !

Staff were helpful and friendly, room had all we needed. Food was lovely, we had both breakfast and dinner. Bar great for evening drinks not too busy, We liked that it was small and friendly. Car parking at back was a bonus. We enjoyed our stay.

My only negative comment would be that one of the mattresses in our twin room needs changing, could feel the springs.

The Dun Cow is a really nice, traditional style, English pub with excellent dining in cosy areas. Accommodation reflects the style of the pub, may not be all ‘modern’ & ‘blingy’ like some may prefer but presented in a nice comfortable & in-keeping manner. Richard did his utmost to ensure a warm welcome, The proprietor (Geoff) had just the right level of engagement, ensuring that everything was to satisfaction & delivered this with a lovely manner. The evening & breakfast staff were all very pleasant & relayed how nice it was to work at the Dun Cow with the added benefit of having such a good boss as Geoff.

There was nothing to level criticism at, it matched expectations. Thank you!

The breakfast was just the right amount and had a huge tea pot which was lovely, especially I was the only tea drinker out of the two of us. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and answered all our questions about the quirky and historic pub.

Room 5 had a dodgy toilet, just that it didn't particularly like being flushed though it did eventually. The staff were aware and on their To Do List for attention.

It was a very pleasant few days in welcoming and comfortable surroundings. ALL the staff had a smiling 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude and were friendly and able to converse. The food was excellent, well prepared and well served with a very comprehensive and varied menu. The surroundings of beamed ceilings and decoration gave the place an 'old world' charm. Definitely will go again as soon as possible, an excellent place to destress in a busy world.

Nothing bad to say - would happily have stayed longer if we could.

We loved the oldy worldy look, the very friendly atmosphere, central location and quality and price of meals. A special thank you to Richard who gave us a very warm welcome and helped us with any questions we had. Also the owner who made sure we were happy with everything.

The staff were exceptional. From Richard the manager who greeted us and explained everything, to Ellie? The Scottish girl on the bar and the lady who served us our fabulous cooked breakfast. Nothing was a bother, everything was handled with good manners and friendliness. The bed was clean and comfortable, although older, the room was spotless and the situation was perfect for our needs.

The glass door on the bathroom! Doesn't matter how long you've lived with someone, you don't need see that !

Small welcoming pub/hotel I have used for the last 30 years. Much better than a corporate box type hotel - very relaxing. Food good, service excellent.

Nothing, otherwise wouldn’t keep coming back. Some people would always find something to complain about - but many are far too picky...
