Homewood Suites by Hilton Birmingham Downtown Near UAB

I had an outstanding experience at this hotel, largely thanks to the exceptional staff at the reception. They were not just helpful but went above and beyond to assist me. I encountered difficulties with the car rental company and had to wait for the roadside assistance for 2-3hours, which unfortunately never arrived. However, the hotel staff took incredible care of me, providing assistance and, in the end, even managing to get the car running again. This was more than just a service; it was a beautiful human experience. I am truly grateful for the care and support I received. Despite the challenging situation, the hotel staff turned it into a positive and memorable experience. Thank you so much; I will never forget this gesture of kindness! The hotel was everything I expected – a nice, spacious room, convenient hotel parking, and a comfortable bed - the suite provided everything necessary for a restful night.

The size of the room was huge and clean throughly. Beds was extremely comfortable as well

Breakfast could of been better

My son and I were in town for a baseball tournament. We found that he wasn’t pitching until what would have been our third day at this hotel. The staff were very accommodating with our change in reservation. The room looked just as updated as the downstairs. It was clean, well lit, and smelled fresh. Breakfast was wonderful! They had many option to choose from and someone was always cleaning up or restocking. I have never had someone ask if we needed anything while enjoy our meals. It was great!

Nice location! Walking distance to several restaurants and close driving distance to BJCC, Museum of Art, a couple of parks, etc. Comfy bed. Quiet hallways. GREAT lighting in the bathroom for getting ready. Lots of pillows. Staff was quick to fix anything that was amiss. (My card didn’t work initially but they fixed with no hassle.) Breakfast was GOOD! Waffles, cereal, hot items, your basic but yummy breakfast choices. And the ladies were constantly refilling and cleaning things. Designated (paid) parking lot in an area where parking is scarce.

There was a security guard one night but not the other. And he was at a desk behind a wall. we didn’t even know he was there till the next morning. It is Downtown, so safety was an issue, even though it is a busy and newer neighborhood. To walk from the parking lot to the restaurants, you have to walk through a street that is… sketchy. Knowing a security guard was around would have helped. Especially if the guard had been making rounds and visible. TV wasn’t a smart tv so we couldn’t sign in and watch our own stuff. I know that seems petty, but in a world where those aren’t that expensive, and most people use streaming services, this would be a nice upgrade. We smelled pot in the back entrance a couple of times and STRONGLY in the back elevator. Could have been guests or staff…

EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE we encountered during our visit was AMAZING. Every interaction was kind, considerate and professional. Only remember a couple of names but Everyone was GREAT! We will be back again sooner rather than later.

The parking isn't the most convenient, it is a location a "downtown" area however the parking was tight and only offered 3 handicap spots.

Absolutely loved the facility and the room, my husband and I agreed this is the nicest hotel we’ve stayed at this year. The employee at the front desk named Marcy was super nice, helpful, and made us feel welcomed! I also liked that you had to use your key everywhere including the elevator. It made us feel safe! The facility smelled nice and looked very nice.

I didn’t like how little room there was at the front of the hotel and that the parking lot was in the back, it really was not awful but definitely could be better. I also thought the pillows were uncomfortable. I woke up a couple of times during the night with a neck ache.

The social Gathering downstairs with free beer and wine and snacks. The lady that was at the bar that was serving drinks was extremely nice and went out of her way to make sure that you were happy while you were there and that you're having a good time. This has one of the best staffs in the hotel business. I highly recommend staying here even though it's only a 3-star Hotel it should be a 4- star Hotel. And the complimentary breakfast is excellent there's so many different choices of foods you can even make your own waffles. They put a little something different out each day the kitchen did it excellent job.

I love the cleanliness, the spacious room, and the breakfast selection! Smooth check-in. Friendly staff. Didnt have to ask for any extras like towels etc. Everything was stocked properly. Room smelled good too!

I recently left a review accidentally stating that I didnt like the $50 'incidental fee' but as I look at my statement it was $15...still not sure what that fee covers and is it returned. We prepaid for our room before ever arriving.

Overall the property was really good, comfortable bed, clean room and facilities available were more than adequate. Big room, good location, breakfast included. Shower was good also. I highly recommend the room.

What I didn't like was the original staff member on check in and her atttiude, lack of customer skills. No greeting, customer service was ordinary. I'm sure she gets lowly paid however a simple "Welcome to Homewood Suites' Enjoy your stay etc. would have been perfect. Price for the room was a bit steep I felt, but nonetheless can't complain with the room/faciilities.

It was great, the , service was amazing, especially with a was amazing! while making our plates take upstairs to our room, I was privileged to see Shamika training Patti. There was so much genuine care for the customer and eagerness to serve between the two of them. I received flowers the night before. But I passed them.
