Courtyard by Marriott Birmingham Downtown at UAB

We needed a clean, comfortable, safe, close place to stay while my husband had heart surgery at UAB. You literally walked out of a door of the hospital & you were at hotel. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Room was very clean & comfortable. Highly recommend The Courtyard if you have someone in the hospital at UAB & need a great place to stay,

The courteous and patient service of the front desk staff was the beginning of my pleasant stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. I will just this hotel for all of my stays. My daughter is a freshman at UAB in the fall so for the next four years I will be staying with you.

The Keurig did not look clean but I was able to get coffee from the Bistro.

It’s a perfect location if you have UAB medical visits. Took elevator next door and walked across the skywalk. This led us directly to the hospital

We arrived on a Sunday late afternoon. When getting a bite to eat for supper, I felt a little uneasy walking the block to find something to eat nearby. Probably fine in daylight hours but a few shady people at night

Two black staff members, Treyvonte and Rick, were exceptional acting in The Bistro. One skinny, black male in The Bistro was rude, threw a rag down on the counter, and stomped off refusing to further help me. Treyvonte took over and was very nice. Nina at the front desk is always smiling, friendly, and helpful. There were 2 spots of mildew in the tub and I let the front desk know. The toilet seat would move around when sitting on it. They need to leave trash bags in the room so there is a way to put trash out by door. They need to have more luggage carts available to use or have people write down a date and time when they take them.

Kind staff clean and well appointed handicap accessible room. Perfect for my disabled mother. Attached to UAB hospital making a 5:30 am check in for her surgery easy.

Being attached to the hospital you have to expect sirens and sadly lifeflight helicopters.

AThe fact that you have to pay to park in the hotel parking lot!! That should not have to happen with the price of just one night. Also if you are a patient or a UAB worker there should be a bit more of a discount and free breakfast . Over we had a great stay. Will stay again just be parking somewhere else. 😪

We liked the food and coffee at the Bistro. We really enjoyed talking with the manager at the Bistro. She was friendly, and seemed to enjoyed her job, and ready to be of service to customers.

The first day we checked in the agent at the front desk was very cordial a couple of employees at the front desk acted like they were inconvenienced by being there. If they don’t like like being in a service oriented job, they should look for employment elsewhere.

I did not like that you did not have breakfast available and there’s no coffee when you get up in the morning. Even the cheapest of places have that. If you don’t have breakfast you should at least have coffee at the front desk

Adjacent to UAB making early surgery check in much easier. Having a roll in shower was perfect for our needs.

Lack of counter/shelf space in the bathroom. A shelf area between the sink and toilet grab bar would be a great help.

The staff was super nice! Great location for walking to places.

The bed was uncomfortable. The layout of the room was weird with the tv not in front of the bed. The water pressure in the shower was so loud it made it not enjoyable.
