Hampton Inn Birmingham I-65/Lakeshore Drive

The hotel is being remodeled and our room was brand new and it is very nicely done. Several new areas were finished too and were very nice. Our sheets, mattress, and pillows were new and so comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast before we started home. The staff was upbeat, and so nice to us. We enjoyed our stay.

The noise from the construction was unpleasant but understandable. The confusion of trying to book our stay online. We chose a lower price but nothing was honored. It appears there is a set price and that is false advertising. I spent my time researching for nothing.

I would like to commend an employee by the name of "Lonnie"....I was having trouble finding the location. I called the hotel and Lonnie answered. I told him I was having trouble finding the hotel and he stayed on the phone with me giving directions for at least 10 minutes until I pulled in the parking lot. He never once lost his cool, he was very kind and patient with me and I appreciate him for that. He gets 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. He is an asset to the Hampton team...

Difficulty finding the location

Breakfast was good and appreciated during our stay. Nice to be able to just come down and get coffee and breakfast on location before beginning your day.

Parking was very limited both nights when we got back in late. Buses and vans should park behind the building. There were no cars parked behind hotel either night due to no lighting…too dark and unsafe. Buses/vans/travel trailers took up too many valuable spaces in front and at side for personal passenger cars.

Quiet and comfortable after a long day of holiday traffic driving! Bed and pillows were very clean and comfortable. Fresh coffee and tea waiting for me after check in. Good signage making it easy to locate.

There are no convenient drive through places for food once you start on the drive into a row of hotels. There are good restaurants nearby though if you are not too tired. The hotel lobby had a good selection of snacks for sale which indicates they are aware of the traveler too tired to go searching for quick food.

very helpful and friendly staff, nice clean and spacious room, lots of countertop space in the bathroom, tall toilet bowl, soap/shampoo dispensers instead of little plastic tubes, guest laundry, fresh fruit for breakfast, 10 minutes drive to downtown

it’s more of a general thing that it would be nice if US hotels/motels provided plant milk and plant yoghurt too for breakfast

The property was not only clean but smelled clean. Comfortable and well lit. Friendly staff!! would highly recommend.

Time did not allow us to partake in breakfast because we had to be at the airport at 5am. But the sweet lady that was working gave us some cookies to enjoy on the way. All in all it was a win !! can’t say anything negative about our stay.

The breakfast staff, the clerk at check in, and the young lady who was assigned to housekeeping for our section.....they were all exceptionally nice. We end up running into family and enjoyed breakfast with one another.

It was an eventful weekend in the Jefferson County area. Pricing of lodging was gouged because of festivities and the hotel industry does this all the time. If I go book now, it would not cost me the same. Any ways this urges me to invest in an Air BNB

I was running late and the "kind front desk lady", gave me a courtesy call to see if my travel was OK. That meant a lot, that your personnel was that concerned, to check on me.

This has nothing to do with the Hampton's. The thing I didn't like, was my schedule. I had to be on the road early, and could not enjoy your excellent breakfast.

The room was very clean. The Housekeeping Staff was so very exceptional. The young lady that was assigned to my room was so Professionally Friendly. Professional and Friendly is an unbeatable combination,

I had a pair of shoes to disappear. I know it was not the Young Lady from House Keeping, but they were just gone????

Staff accommodating at check in And Breakfast was good !

Booking dot com didn’t reserve the room like they were supposed to. Amazingly I could still get a room there, thankfully to Hampton inn staff,on a holiday weekend. As for booking dot com, I called booking dot com for emergency. Said they’d get back to me in 24 hours. Thanks a lot. I figured I have to wait a few minutes. It’s been way over that. So NO HELP FROM THEM. Probably won’t hear from them.
