Ocean View Lodge

All rooms have ocean view, which is awsome. The room was big, clean and aired before we arrived. The bed was good as well and the bathroom had a nice enclosed shower. The fire place was really useful on a Northern California July night :). We didn't use the in-room jacuzzi although it looked like a good idea. There is a a nice bike/pedestrian path between the lodge and the shore, the shore is part of a state park. The Keurig coffee machine is a plus, it is hard to find decent coffee when traveling.

It seems that the prices these days are meant to cover the losses for a whole year of Covid restrictions. Unfortunately they won't come down even after we learn how to live with the pandemic.

This was my first time staying here and This place is AMAZING. I will definitely be back. Everything was bigger than expected and it was closer to the ocean than I expected! I loved being able to watch the sunset from my bed! You won't regret staying here! Check in was quick and easy, too. I appreciated that after a long day of travelling ! The hot tub and the TV were much bigger than expected. I loved having the top floor. It was very private. Loved it !!

Loved their coffee /creamer and the amount of kpods provided, loved the hot water, really liked the motion sensored night light ,not so little very quiet fridge,liked it provided enough towels, liked unit and property as a whole was clean loved the lavender scented toiletries, the gas fireplace kept room toasty

Bed needs to be replaced with la Quinta inn quality beds those are seriously comfy , toilet wobbled needs gasket replaced. The big window in my unit although nicely insulated had too much condensation to have a clear or clean view of the ocean didnt use provided robes just didnt look luxurious to me missing the top extra security tab

The room was clean minus the huge stain in the carpet near the bed. The view was awesome. Loved waking up to the sounds of the ocean simply by opening the door. Gentleman at the front desk was nice and accommodating, while not being the most informative.

I asked to swap my downstairs room for an upstairs room to avoid noise as I planned to sleep in, When I got inside I realized there was a hottub in the room. I didn't ask for an upgrade just an upstairs room. I would have loved to have been told it was a room upgrade and I would be charged for it. This was the only downside to my stay.

The room was clean. We had proper mugs for coffee and insulated wine cups. Everything was spotless on arrival. We were fortunate with the weather in January as it was very clear after a rainy season so could look out at the waves and at night the starts.

There was no housekeeping - that was fine with us as the hotel told us on their check-in sheet - we didn't need them to make the bed and give us clean towels each night and hotels are short-staffed - so if you want daily housekeeping this might not be for you - but it was fine for us. We could easily get refills for the Keurig coffee machine - coffee, tea, hot chocolate from the front desk.

The room was a suite that was spacious, very clean, and with wonderful amenities. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the toiletries provided in the bathroom (hand soap dispenser, lotion dispenser at the sink; dispensers of shampoo, conditioner, body gel in the shower).There was a coffee area that provided great selection of pod coffees and generous supply of creamer pods and ceramic coffee mugs. There was a deck overlooking the ocean right outside the back door of the room. We captured a beautiful sunset.

No complaints!

Beautiful large ocean front room. The room had a large minifridge with freezer and a microwave. The was a balcony with chairs to watch the sunset. The fireplace worked very well, in fact it kicked out so much heat we had to open the doors to cool the room back down. Great location just north of town with an oceanfront walkway that will take you to Glass Beach. The folks at reception were very friendly/hlepful with suggestion about things to do in the area. Amazing room for the price-will stay here again if back up in Mendocino County.

No issues to complain about

While the overall decor and furniture are dated, the bed/mattress was new, pillows, and linens were new and exceptionally clean. The extra room amenities were perfect (coffee, creamer, real mugs, extra blankets, etc)!! Best of all was the location and the room had the most amazing view!!! Add to that was the balcony and two Adirondack chairs on the deck to enjoy a glass of evening wine and a morning coffee. There is nothing like falling asleep and waking up to hear the waves and see the ocean. I will 100% be back!!

Awesome View! It's what we are willing to pay the high price for! We Bike the trail North and into town for most of our "other" needs.

WiFi was not connecting to the Web. Not a huge deal. The bed mattress needs to be updated. During our last stay, we bought a topper from the local mattress company. This time, we didn't have a place to put it when we got home, so we slept on the hard uncomphy mattress.

The room is well-cleaned, comfortable bed and chairs, awesome view esp. the sunset, great coffee, nice shower, the size of the room is good for 2 persons (1 King bed); very close to an awesome beach a few feet away down the hill right in front of the lodge; overall stay is very comfortable.

A little bigger sofa would be nice; a little bit more vacuuming on the bed would make it truly spotless - there were a few hair strands under the bedsheet; the sink is a little bit low which can hurt your back when washing your face or hands longer than 20 secs., drainage in the bathtub is a little bit slow, and plantation shutters for the glass window and patio door would be perfect to watch the sunrise and sunset .
