It was clean and just a short work to the beach.

The walls are thin and you can hear traffic all night from the busy Pacific Coast Highway. The main reason we stayed here was to be close to the beach. Immediately upon waking we walked to the beach, which is right across the busy highway. I wish we had known the area has a high rate of stingray activity because within two hours of arriving at the beach and wading in the surf my 13 year old was stung on the foot. We thought at first that it was just a cut but the locals knew right away what happened. There are no signs or warnings anywhere on the beach or at the hotel property, but I noticed afterwards that there were very few locals actually going into the water even though it was a busy holiday weekend. That should have been my first clue.

There should be something mentioned both on booking.com and the hotels website that this hotel doesn't have an elevator. My daughter barely made it up the stairs due to arthritis.

The king room was very spacious and clean. Room seemed recently remodeled/upgraded. Really liked the wood floor instead of carpeting. Bathtub was big and had jets. Shower was huge and had nice rainfall shower head. Microwave, small frig, table & chairs provided for dining in room, in addition to desk. Windows are new, nice to open for fresh air. Very close to beach, restaurants, shopping, parks. Overall very nice room. Front desk manager was friendly and helpful.

The stairs up to room were a bit narrow. No elevator. Others mentioned dirty carpet in hallway, but we didn't experience that, maybe it was replaced prior to our stay. Couple more towels in room would have been nice. Thin walls, we heard people in hallway clearly, and guests in next room. Unfortunately guest nextdoor had TV loud until 3:30am, but that's not a property issue, it was people being inconsiderate of other guests.

This hotel is in a very good location, close to a beautiful beach, close to all the services you need on your vacation. The director and the staff are very nice and helpful, very accommodating. They always asked us if we needed anything, they gave us clean towels which we always asked for. The hotel is very clean, nice smell inside, even the towel smells clean. Compared to other hotels we stayed at on our month long California trip, which were even more expensive, this one was the best in terms of service x price. The only thing missing is an elevator, but that's nothing against everything good :). Thanks again for everything :)

zero, just maybe it would just be good to adjust the entrance hall, the stairs up to the rooms, paint and put a new floor. But it's fine even without that.

I thought it was good that it wasn’t carpeted. It allowed us to know that we were at fault when the floor became a little sandy. It was located very close to the beach and there were a lot of decent restaurants and a small market within walking distance. Also nice that it was smoke and vape free.

It wasn’t really the hotel’s fault but the security doors leading upstairs to the rooms were ajar a lot.

Beautiful remodeled large room with the spa tub in it. Nice owner and very convenient location without being overly priced.

Showerhead was a “rain showerhead” and in a weird placement. When trying to turn the knobs on to start shower, it was very difficult not to get cold water on you. Hot water took a very long time to get hot. A new hire was there and didn’t know how to properly charge my credit card so I had to keep returning to the office to try and get it sorted out. Main guy in the office was nice though and apologized for the inconvenience.

It was clear that (as of March 2022) the rooms had recently been redone. New paint, furniture, fixtures, etc. made for a clean, welcoming appearance. The smell of cleaning supplies on the 3rd floor and in our room was strong, but at least we knew that the place had been cleaned. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights, and I wasn’t expecting that there would be no housekeeping during our stay. It would have been nice to at least have known that and (in the absence of housekeeping) to have had access to a broom or vacuum to clean up the sand that we inevitably dragged with us from the beach. This could be an uncomfortable place to stay for people who are challenged by stairs.

Good clean rooms great location for what we wanted on the edge of LA close to the beach. Good value for the rate we paid with coffee making facilities

The shower wasn’t the best but adequate and it took quite a while for water to become hot but was nice and hot when it reached temperature

Everything about my experience from the moment I arrived and was checking in,( The proprietor was most welcoming and personable) exceeded my expectations. The level of cleanliness, the details included in the room and bathroom, the view from the upper floor, level of quiet, and comfort; all surpassed my expectations for the very reasonable price.

Absolutely nothing could be improved!

I love this place. Very clean, neat, beautiful spacious rooms-with microwave, refrigerator, closet, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, coffee, & tea. Very comfortable beds. Staff are very friendly, welcoming, helpful and make your check in easy and fast. Great location, good price for room, excellent service. Highly recommend.

Parking is limited but they made it work.
