The Ranch at Laguna Beach

The rooms were very nice and clean. We enjoyed the outside dining and fire pit one night. Staff very friendly. We stayed there in December and that’s why we came back to stay when we visit family.

We had made dinner reservations in advance requesting a round table and confirmed with numerous phone calls that yes that would be fine. Incorrect information was given on numerous calls to us.

The coastal canyon setting was beautiful. The ocean breeze rustles the leaves and birdsong fills the air. The spa was relaxing and luxurious. The rocking chairs on the patio are a nice spot to savor an afternoon cocktail. Harvest restaurant had delicious food and attentive service. Staff was friendly, and the snack shack had tasty grab and go goodies. The room was nicely appointed and clean, with a comfortable bed.

The room was huge -- we had a two story apartment with balconies on both levels. The staff kept it very clean and offered turn-down service every night. The location is amazing with easy walks to the beach and hikes up the mountains in Laguna Beach. We ate breakfast one morning and it was delicious.

There were firepits on the main patio that required a $200 minimum to sit there. Think that should be free for paying guests. There weren't any activities during the week except for live music every evening. The pool was quite cold for being heated.

Everyone here was exceptional. I mentioned to my wife, whatever we asked for, I can’t remember them ever saying we can’t do that or no. The staff always went out of their way to make your stay a pleasure. Very cheerful, food was great! I liked the closeness to the beach, short wake or they will drive you in a golf cart.

Internet was very spotty because the hotel in in a canyon Hard to get taxi or Uber there., had to rent a carThey don’t give any preference to hotel guest for tee times .

The views are unbeatable. Even on a holiday weekend it was quiet and did not feel too packed. Room was quiet and peaceful. The spa was an absolute treat.

Bed was really soft. We felt like we kept sinking into a hole in the middle. Pillows were all the same firmness as well and having a firmer option would have made it more comfortable. The food did seem a bit over priced, with a muffin being $5 and $13 for a bowl of oatmeal. For future stays we will go off the resort or bring breakfast items in. Towels were very rough.

The property location was beautiful, serene, and quiet. The beds were super comfortable. The food at the hotel restaurant was amazing… organic, farm to table stile.

Our room was a suite but it faced the parking lot and the stream / sewerage run off that ran past our room smelled horrible. And there’s no complementary water bottles. Only $5 waters. There were only 2 small drinking glasses. We also had ants in our room.

Setting is absolutely stunning and so relaxing! Staff was all extremely friendly and food was delicious. Room is spacious, well decorated, and very quiet.

So hard to say anything bad but we visited on a Monday and unfortunately the bar by the pool was closed which made it slightly complicated but probably could have read that beforehand - whoops! Would love to visit on a weekend when everything is up and running!

This is one of the most idyllic lodges I have stayed in Laguna Beach. Celebrities spotted on Ben Browns’ Golf Course, at Harvest Restaurant and on the property. They are respected and not disturbed. Cleanliness and cordiality along with kindness was observed with all guests upon check-in. Valet is provided. Melodic Aliso Creek runs through this “einzigartig” Nat Geo Unique Lodge of the World. Time in all things and I will sip this wonderful experience ever so slowly as it’s indicated. Visiting again soon.

we liked that it has a lot of open grounds and that it felt like a hidden gem. we also liked that everything was within walking distance.

maybe they had a lot of guests during that weekend because we asked for slippers via email a few days before checking in, we also asked at the time of check in, and after dinner during the first day but we never got it until the next day when I needed to call again to remind them.

We loved feeling like we were up in the mountains when we were really walking distance to the beach. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Staff was friendly and wonderful. Food was good.

The flames from the fire pit caused our plates to get dangerously hot resulting in my friend severely burning her fingers.
