Super 8 by Wyndham Monterey

Everything was ok....a few things could've been improved. Hopefully our next stay isn't like this one.

The beds were a double size and my reservation was for a queen size so we were not accommodated there..then the deposit was $200 which is unusual because we usually only pay $100 if at all...also, we had asked for a late check out and were denied....we checked in at midnight so we paid $140 for approximately 11 hours....not very good customer service if you ask us...we stay in hotels quite a bit on the peninsula so our time and money are very important to us...

The front staff was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. We had never been in Monterey before, so they provided much info that was very helpful. Great location that was close to all we wanted to see.

Really not much that we did not like. The only thing was that smokers were able to smoke directly outside of the rooms and the air conditioning unit drew that smokey air into our room. Maybe the smoker's area should be on the other side of the parking lot from the rooms side of the parking lot.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this motel: the room was big and clean, it looked fresh and not outdated as most motels do. It was sparkly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Easy check-in and check-out and great location to explore Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea! (Free parking in front of your room)

We came from a very rundown motel so we were actually very impressed with this one! It could've been a little bit less noisy and the bathroom could use some updating but nothing too crazy.

the location is fantastic. the room we had was like 2 rooms in one which was perfect for our family.

the beds were a little uncomfortable and the back part of the room where the second queen bed and bathroom are got a little warm in the afternoon and cold in the evening with no real way to cool or heat because the cooler/heater was in the front part. so we would turn the air on but it was get way too cold in the main room and it wouldn’t fully reach the back part before we had to shut it off.

The location was nice and easy to get to and from Cannery Row and restaurants. The bathroom is very large.

No microwave in room! :( Invest in some microwaves in the rooms. We had to throw away food because we couldn't heat up our leftovers. A real bummer! Could use some more hooks on bathroom walls to hang your towels.

I ended up paying a higher than usual probably due to the same day booking on a Friday but still it was double the price. But the room itself is pretty standard for this type of hotel, comfortable, bed, shower, TV, it’s a hood option to stay a night or two of planning just to sleep and shower. Close to everything too

Location was great rooms were very clean easy access to the beach got a great deal

entrance was kind of tough because the way you drive in was super narrow and had two lanes which were in the same direction which was hard to drive in ishould have been one regular easy entrance was not happy that the room with two full size beds didn’t have a microwave in the room was a real bad inconvenience to have to walk to the lobby and have to heat up my meals and since traveling with a infant his water for bottles and lobby was only open from 7am til 11pm

Was very clean, easy check-in and our process, parking right in front of the door. Had all amenities you’d expect from a motel. It was also in very close proximity to the grounds of the former Monterey pop festival from 1967, where Jimi Hendrix famously set his guitar on fire ;)

Definitely worth the value and bang for the buck (if you have a car). It is a quick 5 min drive to Fisherman’s Wharf and 10 mins to Cannery Row. There is a Safeway and Starbucks less than a mile away as well as a Denny’s across the street. It’s right off the highway and 15 mins to Carmel by the sea. The room itself is newly renovated, no frills as super clean motel room. There is a tv, microwave, fridge and a coffee maker. The internet disconnects occasionally but is relatively strong.

You hear some noises such as flushing or doors closing from other rooms but not too bad.

Check-in was smooth and room was spacious with AC, closet, large bed and bathroom with hair blower.

More plugs to charge devices and room was left with window shades open, so room was hot and required additional time for AC to catch up on cooling room temperature.
