Ramada by Wyndham Monterey

A perfect location for events at the Monterey Fairground! Right across from the festival we went to! Also a quick run or walk down to the Bay and bike/run/walk trail. An extra big plus: the front desk staff! The reception host was amazing and just a generally wonderful person! While the hotel/motel is not a five star spot by any means (it’s all about the convenient location), her hospitality and friendly vibe made our stay extra special and all the better!

The price was a bit steep due to event pricing. It’s an older motel spot and even though it’s a Wyndham property, no amount of cool paintings or flat screen TVs could really give it a contemporary feel. Again, the location was everything (and the great staff…who even called us to see if we’d get there before the front desk closed at 11pm).

No breakfast but coffee and danish were a great touch! The room was clean, and when we asked for clean towels, housekeeping brought them right away. The staff were so nice, that I had to give them an overall 'Excellent" because they were so courteous, kind, and knowledeable!

We stayed in the Special needs room (221?) and the bed was very uncomfortable for me because I have Osteoporosis and herniated discs on my back, so the first night I had to sleep on the opposite direction, with my feet where my head should've been. The next night, I got up in the middle of the night with such a backache that I slept on the floor for 2 1/2 hours. The bathroom light and fan were on the same switch and was very loud when we woke up during the night to use the bathroom. There should be separate switches for the fan and lights. Also, there were no counters around the sink so we had to put our toiletries on the floor.

The motel has been refurbished recently and the rooms were fresh, clean and comfortable. Although the rooms at the front of the property on the main road may have been a bit noisy we had a room upstairs at the back and it was very easy to sleep. Reception staff were all helpful and friendly, especially Naomi. The hotel is located not far from Cannery Row and the Wharf and it was easy to find parking downtown. Safeway supermarket is just a couple of minutes away which is a bonus.

As the hotel had ‘grab and go’ breakfast which was fine, maybe they could organise a hotel discount at Denny’s nearby so that patrons could enjoy a hot breakfast at a lower cost if they felt like it. Just a suggestion.

The size of the room was good and the 2 queen beds and pillows were very comfortable. Linens were fresh and looked new! The size of the closet with wooden hangers was sufficient. Air conditioner worked well. Easy access to Hwy. 1

I HATE CARPET!!! In this day, why would any rental still have disgusting, hard to sanitize carpet? Easy to clean wood flooring is readily available in lots of different price ranges and options. There is always an unpleasant odor in a room with carpet! The carpet was in good shape, however! Also, I prefer a room where the vanity is not open to the bedroom area.

I'd stayed here before several years ago for a job interview in Monterey. Clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but definitely well-appointed and maintained. Staff are very helpful, and thorough, even on phone. You won't be disappointed.

I missed the complimentary breakfast that was offered on my stay several years ago, but I understand with Covid restrictions, even though largely lifted now, it just isn't the best of things to offer at this time.

Clean.

I booked a king and when I came they said they only had a room with 2 queens and being a tall guy that I didn’t like. When I showed disappointment the gentleman said “ I can’t cancel if you don’t like it”.... I thought it was kind of rude the way he said it because it was around 10:30pm .... I wouldn’t go search for something else at that time I was just disappointed...

Location is good. The room was clean. The staff at front desk was very kind and friendly when I checked in. Price is relatively lower than other hotels nearby. Relatively bigger refrigerator. Microwave. AC worked well.

I actually had very good stay. No complain but if I have to comment on what I did not like, it would be a little bit poor soundproof. Heard footstep from upper floor though people on the upper floor were not noisy. Fortunately our family can sleep with no problem because both neighbors and people on the upper floor spent quietly.

Clean, spacious, and modern rooms with fresh linens. Just 10 minutes from downtown, and close to all of the other hotels in the area. Staff was extremely kind and welcoming upon arrival. No issues with noise.

No elevator, no hot breakfast, and not enough parking spaces. On the first night we had to park around the block and tote all of our gear across the busy street. Second night we took an Uber to dinner so we wouldn't lose our parking space.

Easy access to room. Didn't have to go through a lobby and other people. Towels were not thin and old which is much appreciated. I even brought my own towels but didn't have to use it. There were ample plugs for electronic devices. Rooms were clean. Front desk gentleman was cordial when checking in and when I called due to a question. Overall for the time we spent in the room it was the right lodging decision.

Wifi very slow. Internet connection was out numerous times.

Staff was friendly and accomodating... Room was comfortable and clean. Accessable room was on ground floor with handicap parking by door, very convenient. Location was good.(not too congested and not too far). Pricing was average or better for such a nice place...

Nothing to not like. Will return for next vacation.
