Hotel Avisa Downtown

I was a little worried with the hotel being 2 star and 1/3 the cost of our hotel in Monterey but it was perfect for what we needed. Small hotel, easy parking, short walk to the water front and Morro Bay was lovely. Such a chilled out place with plenty choice for restaurants. The room was spacious, modern, minimal and clean. Would recommend! Lovely white bedding and lots of white towels - my kind of clean and fresh!

The air con was a little noisy but we slept well once we put on.

I went with my wife and two kids and was expecting a small room just big enough to fit two beds like every other place I’ve stayed even the high end hotels but this place surprised us our room was big we had so much room in there. my kids had space to place her VR even.

There was not really anything to dislike the only thing that caught my eye was whoever painted the restroom didn’t pay attention or was in a hurry. You could still see small spots of the old paint but that is not a big deal I’m still choosing this place the next time I go out there.

The location is great (short walking distance to the bay) and everything in the hotel was functional.

Our rooms were recently renovated at significant expense (or so it looked), but much of that work was not done competently (e.g. a mains socket stuck out loosely from the wall; wet-room areas were not properly insulated; decorative pictures were hung weirdly). We experienced no issues, but I would be a little concerned about how everything can be kept clean and in good working order in coming years.

Above us, could hear the bed movements during the people private ‘activity’ . Disturbed our sleep. With the hotel not full, they could have placed them in another room.

Big, clean, modern room which I loved. The hotel was only a short walk from the waterfront where you can find the main town so the hotel was very well located. This was a great place to stay overnight before a road trip up to Big Sur. This definitely looked like one of the nicest hotels in the area.

Nothing, very happy

Really clean, friendly reception staff. Basic gym but all I needed. Great location in wonderful Morro Bay. Coming from UK we didn’t realise that restaurant all shut by 9pm so we missed out on one of the lovely fish restaurants on the bay. We did enjoy Frankie & Lola’s for breakfast though.

Had a balcony and view of Morro rock. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Covered parking. Quiet and good bed.

No one at the desk all night. Had a walk in shower and the shower head pointed straight down so your hair was wet no matter what!

Having just been refurbished, the property was in tip top condition. It had all the necessary amenities in the room to get by comfortably for my family. There was also plenty of food available in close proximity.

It is hard to point out anything in particular as my stay there was really short.

Very friendly staff. Gave us tips on where to tank without us asking, which was quite helpful. The room is nicely furnished and it exceeded our expectations

It had everything you can expect from a 2 starhotel so nothing major to mention. Only the sound isolation could be better but it didn't disturb us

Only stayed for one night but excellent location, 5min walk to waterfront and numerous restaurants and shops. Ideal for early morning whale watching tour. Room clean and spacious with free parking. Very friendly staff.
