Inn at Morro Bay

Superb location. Pay a little more for the rooms with a view on the bay

Wifi wasn´t working quite well. I was directly in my hotelroom. Not really an entrance. Privacy was a problem. Windowblinds were wooden so either you closed them or people from other rooms walking by could see inside. Bathroom was small and toilet was right behind the door. If you needed privacy you should close them. But the toilet is standing also really close to the wall and door. It felt unhygienic. Wall was painted and because the toilet was so close and angled it wasn't quite clean. Washing bassin was inside the room. So you had to close the blinds completely.

Morro Bay Inn is in a great location. The Ocean is on one side. And there is a beautifully manicured Golf Course on the other. Our room was well kept and very clean. Although it's an older hotel, the room has modern amenities and a very modern design. The room had a refrigerator, Kuerig coffee maker, and the most comfortable bed ever. If We needed anything, the friendly and accommodating Receptionist was only a "dial 0" away. We had a room with a deck and garden/ pool view. It was so relaxing to sit and look at stars! I could hear the Sea Lions barking in the distance. There is a restaurant/bar on site and from what I hear, it's pretty darn good! Unfortunately, we never had the chance to eat there. Our schedule did not make time for us to have a meal at the restaurant. (We plan on stopping in for a meal in the next month or so.) My husband's family know alot about this wonderful Inn. They ķnow the original owners and can they remember when it was being built! Some even worked there at one time or another. They too had only nice things to say about Morro Bay Inn! Once you see or stay at the Morro Bay Inn, you wont forget the peaceful and relaxing feeling it gives you. The grounds are beautiful and inviting. It seemed we were in a totally different part of the country with all the greenery and mature trees! I had to remind myself I was only 30 minutes from home. Once you stay, the place never leaves you. We will definitely be returning to Morro Bay Inn. Next time our stay will be longer!

There were no microwaves in the rooms. The television was a bit difficult to navigate. There were more than enough channels but it was just difficult to find specific shows or channels because there was no way to pull up a guide.

The location is wonderful. We enjoyed the restaurant and enjoyed the sunset on the property. The room was a nice size and comfortable. The staff were fabulous. The restaurant staff answered our menu questions and provided awesome service. I also appreciated how the staff could accommodate a request about working on my computer in the lobby. My partner and I hope to come back, next time with our dog!

These are minor things that can only improve guest experience: weak internet in the room. But I suspect web connectivity is out of the control of the hotel.

Room was a double bed. Kinda small but it was modern and the patio was great. The shower was nice. The pool/jacuzzi was FANTASTIC. Beautiful large heated pool and very nice hot jacuzzi. The pool area was definitely a highlight of this hotel. We did not eat on site but there is a restaurant and bar in the lobby which has large windows to see the harbor view. Keurig single serve machine and 3 reg and 3 decaf with a stand in the lobby which was self serve with coffee/tea etc. Nice refrigerator but no microwave. Morro Bay golf course is literally across the street. Hole 12 is 100ft from the entrance to hotel. I am a golfer and have played the Morro Bay course numerous times. One of the best courses and values for California golf. The staff was very friendly and responsive. They have nice large rest rooms in the lobby as well. We were provided 2 extra pillows per bed which had 2 each to start with,

Mattress' were nice and thick but did have a tendency to taper to the floor when at the edge. Still comfortable. The linens were very nice. Small closet but there is an open closet sized space next to the closet right inside the room. Good for storing luggage etc. Our room wasn't cleaned but I don't remember if they said you need to request it. One night stay was fine and they did provide extra towels on request.

The deck overlooking the bay was a highlight! The entrance is left of the fountain. We ordered pizza and were able to eat and watch the sunset. The room was very comfortable with a big TV. Nice balcony. The pool was chilly (but kids didn't care) and the hot tub was very hot. Nice grounds and great value for money (especially compared to the dump we stayed in in Santa Monica for the same money). I'd recommend!

They should take some time to clean the leaves out of the pool and sand out of the hot tub. They could include a simple breakfast.

The location is perfect, very convenient when you travel by car. The surroundings are very nice, with heavenly views on Morro Rock and next to a natural reserve area, which makes that you see very nice wildlife and birds just standing in front of your room. Rooms were updated and clean. Beds were very comfortable.

Personal: I like to sleep in a room which can be totally dark with blackout curtains. There was light shining through but it wasnt a real problem. It was a great stay.

Let me first of all say this is the ONLY place I stay at on vacation. Its 10/10 baby. Second they should give me a weekend free for how much I stay here and all the people I've sent here. I pretty much work as a travel agent for this place and have put enough money in vacations here to put on a down payment for a house. It's amazing what else can I say. If this owner sees this just know you're doing great and if you ever want to hit some golf balls across the street let me know. Awesome staff and the scenery is like I'm on the planet with the fury creatures from star wars. #FirstReviewEver

That I didn't get to stay longer

Because it was foggy, the heated pool was the place we found ourselves most afternoons until closing. The front desk was helpful when I called for towels down at the pool. The ladies at the restaurant were busy but we got our breakfast hot, it just took a little while to take our order over the phone.

I HATED that housekeeping doesn't go in unless you call. I hate to be a burden on anyone that is already having to be careful because of Covid so I never asked. I did have to sweep a couple times a day from the dirt tracked in from our shoes; but other than that the room/property was rather enjoyable. I appreciate the staff leaving the housekeeping carts out so we could grab the broom when needed.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was close to many places we could walk to. The restaurant was also very nice. It had a lovely view of the bay. Staff was very professional and friendly.

It is next to a bird sanctuary so our car was very dirty after being in the lot for a few days. There were times that the birds were very noisy too. All part of nature and we wanted to get away from the big city where we live.

Great location, serene setting, excellent views, updated rooms pleasantly decorated... enjoyed our morning walks along the Heron Rookery Natural Reserve adjacent to the property; lovely pool -- most welcomed after a scorching afternoon at Tin City; fun evening on the sundeck with an amazing view of Morro Rock, followed by a delicious dinner at the restaurant on the enclosed deck (we arrived 5 minutes before close and they graciously seated us). The staff at this property is eager to please, friendly and super accommodating.

Our room was on the small side; towels could be a little more substantial; bed in our room was fairly soft; bathroom tile could use a deep clean but overall our room was clean and comfortable.
