Centrella Hotel, a Kirkwood Collection Hotel

A bit disappointed they’ve dropped the excellent cooked to order breakfasts and substituted it with toast and yogurt . A lot of places are using covid as an excuse for providing less service . No mini fridge or microwave or kettle in rooms so that’s a negative — But cookies and coffee always available in dining room . Other than that everything else is excellent . Lovely , friendly , helpful staff . Location perfectly situated to get around the peninsula.

The Centrella hotel is a beautiful quaint little property. It's about a 4 minute walk to the beautiful ocean side views and right next to downtown. Our bathroom was enormous with gorgeous tiles and our room was super cozy. They had a lovely Yoghurt Parfait for breakfast which is absolutely delicious. With cookies, coffee and tea available 24/7. The staff especially Alex was super helpful and accommodating.

Our room was right around the corner from the reception with a lot of people coming in and out and it felt like we lacked privacy.

Excellent hospitality staff - The wind took out a significant part of the electricity in the area on New Year's Eve for about 6 hours. The staff brought out lanterns and continued serving cookies, coffee, and wine to guests who chose to stay. They also were very patient and helpful to those who chose to move on to different hotels, although most were also without electricity. This next coment does NOT reflect on the hotel itself - Kirkwood Collections should seriously consider providing a back-up generator to this property, as outtages are becoming more common in this central coast region.

The breakfast was perfect for us. Loved the yogurt parfaits. And we enjoyed a glass of wine in the garden in the evenings!

If you're arriving late be aware that the doors are locked at 9 or 10. It did say it on the booking, I just hadn't read it properly and it took a bit to figure out how to get in. They had texted but I don't have a US phone plan so I couldn't get the message. None of it was their fault, all me, just a note to be aware of your check in time and contact them ahead of time if you're going to be later than 9.

The Centrella is a lovely old property in the heart of Pacific Grove, one of my favourite places in California. It does not have all the facilities of a modern hotel but it makes up for this with its charm and its welcoming approach to its customers. A great feature is the afternoon ‘wine and cookies’ hour (we preferred to have tea and cookies), where you unwind and spend a bit of time on the beautiful garden and chat to other guests, yes chat to other guests - how fabulous. The breakfast was simple but very healthy and nice. We loved our time there, it is a gem. It is also a pleasant walk to Cannery Row.

A bit more storage space in the room would have been nice.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The location was excellent and we were able to walk to the beach, park, and restaurants. Every morning we were served a delicious yogurt parfait with granola and fresh fruit as well as scrumptious scones and orange juice. Coffee and tea were available all day along with cookies in the afternoon and in the evening wine was offered. The sunny room was small, but comfortable.

Our queen bed was a little soft and we would have preferred a more firm mattress. The toilet had a slight problem when we arrived but it was quickly repaired. I think it needs some new tank parts.

The staff were exceptional, we loved the welcome brownies and home made scones and not forgetting the complimentary evening wine. The breakfast yoghurt, fruit s and honey with more scones was great too! There’s free parking at the front and ample on road free parking. It is very well located only a short walk from the headland and numerous restaurants. We are at the Beachhouse overlooking the sea which was very good.

We had one of the corner rooms on the first floor, the room was a great size and we had an en-suite with a powerful shower but the walls and not well insulated and you could hear the adjoining room.

the Charm of this Victorian was perfect and well maintained too! our room 22 was quiet and the heater worked well ! the bed was comfortable and bedding cosy. Nice to have hot drinks all day long with bakery items too !

the Breakfast needed variety and Eggs/ ham/ bacon / protein .. although the yogurt parfait was excellent (don’t change those ! ) and the fresh scones were great too , just only sweets got to bee too much every day the same . ( reason I could not give a 10 rating overall)

The location was perfect for my needs. 20 minute walk along the coast to the Monterey Bay aquarium. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast of yogurt parfait and homemade scones was delicious, and the complimentary glass of wine in the evening was a bonus.

This is an old building with single pane windows, so expect to hear some road noise. If that's a problem for you consider taking earplugs.

Old world charm and staff... The rooms had nice, quaint decor. Staff was very welcoming and warm. Shared places to go around, fine options. Breakfast has just two but incredibly wonderful dishes - scones and parfait.... Nice location and walkable to all major dining options.

Limited parking space, rest on street. Rooms we took were very small and limited space if you are packed heavy.
