Friendly staff, excellent location, and cozy rooms! I enjoyed the fireplace in the bedroom and the hot tub the most, as those were the main things I was looking for. The location was indeed within walking distance of the beach, and bikeable to the whole Monterey peninsula.

Sadly, one of the things I was looking forward to most, the breakfast, was not up to par with what I hoped. In my opinion, there wasn't enough fruit, and the waffle mix had soured. Put a little more work into the breakfast, and this place would have been 10/10!

it was a cute place to stay located in a woodsy area and located close to the beach by a short walk. the included breakfast was a nice treat.

while it didn’t bother us too much, we had a first floor room and we definitely knew there were people in the room above us as the floor would creak and moan as they walked around.

t v too small not a lot of television movie choices no fan in bathroom no newspaper the handheld in shower was inoperable no where to put toiletries continental breakfast was gluten and sugar heavy …. add some hot plates of sausages, hash browns and scrambled eggs along with some juice it would take it up several notches… put bar in winder frame to make it harder to open windows from the outside would make women traveling alone feel safer..

The breakfast was very good. There is a basic buffet; make-it -yourself waffles, always some kind of fresh fruit, cereal, home made muffins and pasties, etc. Excellent coffee. It was very nice having hot tubs! The beach is a short walk, and there are excellent walking paths in the sand dunes. The hotel is quiet and laid back. We appreciated the fridge and microwave. There is a Trader Joe's and other stores a 5 minute drive away. The hotel is close to the hubbub of downtown Monterrey but you would never know it!

The rooms are clean and totally fine, but could use some updating.

The property is very quaint and the location is excellent. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to help our group of 13 have a great time. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot with decent water pressure. The fireplace was setup with good instructions on how to get a fire going. The popcorn popper in the room was a nice touch. On-site electric car charger was a nice bonus too.

We didn't realize that ground floor rooms still had at least two steps going in and out (except for the handicap accessible rooms which did have a ramp.) Folks staying in ground floor rooms said that the noise from upstairs neighbors was very loud -- these are old wooden buildings! The breakfast service was pretty nice but there was no juice, just coffee/tea. The advertised complimentary wine and cheese was actually just wine (they stopped doing the cheese or other snacks due to Covid). The rooms were very clean -- maybe too clean? Everyone complained that their room smelled of overly strong cleaners.

breakfast choices were great. So glad they had hard boiled eggs just to round out the carbs. Location is very easy to find and there was the ability to walk easily around the neighborhood streets. Drive slow because the deer are all around. The room was comfortable as long as the heat was not on (why was it on anyway?) Its still summer and the windows are open. Makes no sense.

The small table in the room was in need of wobble repair. The cover on the inside front door was loose. The freezer was totally iced and needed a hearty defrost. Otherwise the room was very satisfactory, the beds comfortable and the added touches like coffee, chocolate and popcorn were appreciated.

We enjoyed our stay here, it's traditional and had a good, homely feel to it. The bed was comfortable with good linen. We didn't use it but loved the log fireplace. The room is very spacious, with a table big enough to eat at. It's in a good location for walking down to the beach in about 5 minutes or if you go a bit longer, into town during the day. At night, there are a selection of places to eat but you need to drive. Breakfast was self service and had an excellent choice. A nice touch was being offered wine in the evening.

Location (near the ocean and in a beautiful neighborhood). The fireplace (it was lovely going to sleep with the glow and crackle of a fire in the fireplace).

Curtain and blinds pulls need some servicing. I was traveling with two friends who had rooms with queen beds at $204.00 a piece. I took the king bed room that was offered at $260.00, though I had originally sought three similar rooms at the lower rate. I found that the rooms of my colleagues were actually in better condition than mine (for example, more and better electronic outlets and charging station and better natural lighting).

The property is located in the perfect location. The beach is about 7-10 min walk. The property is quaint. Older but clean and comfortable. The room was very spacious and staff was friendly. Wine and Waffles were a wonderful touch. I am so very glad I booked our weekend here. We will be back. Thank you!

We struggled with the tv remote as the power button didn’t work but definitely not a deal breaker. Could also be user error😂. Low water pressure in the shower. The grounds are pretty noisy during the day but we were in and out throughout the day so this is also not a deal breaker

Charming & spacious room, though dated. Quaint & Rustic. Although we didn't use it, I liked the fireplace in the room. Everything was provided. I was also impressed by the organized free wine social from 4-7p! Free breakfast the next morning was nice, too. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. Well maintained.

The coffee maker was outdated and there was no coffee. I had requested an extra coffee at check in, which was good because there was only 1 decaf packet provided.
