Best Western San Diego/Miramar Hotel

This hotel was conveniently located between the homes of our grown children. There was plenty of free parking regardless of the time of day or night. It has an elevator which I require due to medical concerns and the comfy king bed was the best. The breakfast was the typical Best Western fare taken to another level due to extra touches of extra condiments. It was well looked after and kept stocked.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. We like Best Westerns but I didn't give it the highest marks only because it's not a luxury hotel

The bed was so comfy! The room was beautiful. Loved the handicapped accessible tub!!!

There was construction blocking one of the entrances to the location, and their parking lot was being tared so there were not enough handicapped accessible spots, which made getting in and out of my vehicle rather uncomfortable and daunting. I had to have a stranger put my device in the trunk and help me get into my car because someone who didn't have a handicapped plate or placard took the only handicapped accessible spot available.

The staff stood out by far on how well they treated me. I booked two rooms instead of one, by mistake. It was an error on booking.com app. In any case, on their end I had two non-refundable reservations. I didn’t even know about this. At check-in they informed me, I was surprised and they said they took care of it. First I thought booking.com fixed the issue. But when I asked again in the morning to be sure, they said they canceled on their end with a full refund. Saving me the hassle to complain to booking.com. So understanding and helpful. Thank you so much for the lovely stay!

Upon arrival we were treated with professionalism and courtesy! Check in was easy and I had requested 2 rooms next to each other and that request was filled. The check in area was clean and decorated for Christmas. It looked cozy and inviting. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were super comfortable. The heater worked well and kept our room at the desired temperature. There was a black out blind and a regular daytime blind that was convenient. There were plenty of outlets and charging plugs right next to the beds. Breakfast had more choices than I expected and the woman in charge kept the food dishes filled and the food hot. Overall, the experience was a good one and I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a reasonable rate with more than your basic comforts.

My only request (and it’s not a BIG deal) would be to have a hot chocolate choice along with your coffee choices. Just a thought… for those of us who don’t drink coffee.

I actually had enough towels and toilet paper in my room for the first time ever. I didn't have to bother staff for more. I have MS which causes muscle weakness so I had a disability room which was perfect for me. Very helpful with a wide bathroom space and bars for holding myself up. The hotel sits far back off the main road, so no traffic sounds. The breakfast had a good selection of items. My room was near the elevator as requested, also very helpful. Staff was kind and helpful. I'd stay again.

My first night was a bit rough due to yelling from ppl below. I mentioned it to hotel staff next morning and had no issues after that.

Everything was clean and well maintained. The locations for food were close by. It was close to the base. The staff were wonderful. I highly recommend this place and I will stay there again in the future.

The difficulty in exiting the hotel parking lot. Big trucks parked on the street and you could not tell who was coming as you tried to leave. It is an accident waiting to happen.

Almost everything about this place was exceptional especially for the price. Bed was super comfortable, nice shower head and nice desk area for doing work. AC unit worked well, and room was very clean. Continental breakfast was also exceptional. Hot eggs and meat plus muffins, yogurt, pastries, coffee, tea, juice, cereal, oatmeal etc. Best breakfast I’ve ever been offered at a hotel. Hot tub /pool area was also very nice. All in all, a good stay and would definitely come again.

Most of the staff was very friendly, however Saturday morning housekeeping was awful. I understand that they were doing their job however in the room next to ours, they had turned the deadbolt so it sticks out, so that the door doesn’t shut all the way and hits the frame instead, but they continued to let it slam time and time again. And by slam I mean shake the whole floor. This happened 10+ times and all before 8am. Safe to say I woke up incredibly pissed off. I don’t expect them to be silent, but some consideration for others that want to sleep in past 8am on a Saturday morning would be nice..

The room size was fine, the hotel was located within close access to restaurants and the highway, the area was relatively quiet, until the airbase was conducting air operations.

It would have been good to have some other options for breakfast on site. I am not a fan of powdered eggs. The rooms could use some better insulation, especially with the air base close by.

I like how close the area was to UC San Diego. It was just a little above La Jolla, so the drive to anywhere was very convenient.

I would have liked some complementary water. There was not much that I did not like about the location. The only thing I wish could be improved is the breakfast hours, because I either wake up extremely early, and come back right after breakfast hours are over.

Good area. Good price for being a holiday weekend.

The décor and everything looked nice, but the beds were a bit uncomfortable. One bed made a loud noise when sat on. There were large stains on the carpet. It felt muggy inside the room. The woman who checked us in was fast and courteous, but she was in a hurry to get off work (as witnessed that she went straight to her car and left shortly after giving us our key cards), and she put everything on one credit card though we had two separate reservations in our party. She did not ask us about payment arrangements at all. When I explained that the other room needed to be on a different card, she said we could make those arrangements at check out. However, everything was already charged by the time we checked out.
