Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center

The property is good. Stayed there once before in the past and was pleased that it was just as pleasant again this time. The place was clean, room was clean, and the staff were friendly. I had been there earlier than check in time and they allowed me to wait in the lobby and I only waited 5 min before they notified me of a clean room. And then I forgot to bring my toothpaste, but they gave me complimentary toothpaste.

The room was not too spacious and the bathroom sink had poor pressure??? Not too sure, but I didn’t care for the faucet design. And the pillows are too soft.

The location of the hotel to the bars and the restaurants was so ideal. The staff was incredibly responsive and kind! I was surprised when I received a text from the hosts through my stay asking if there was anything I needed. Very accommodating! If I need to stay down in downtown San Diego again I will be staying here.

The price of Valet was a bit much. I understand why it needs to be, however, when I am paying $300 per night, $60 for valet feels a bit much. Everything else was exceptional!

We had problems with getting the shower to turn on and not having cold water , but the staff were all so pleasant and dealt with the issue in a very professional manner. What could’ve turned out to be a bad experience turned out to be a pleasant one due to the response of the staff, especially Sam at night and Marjorie during the day.

The location was amazing. Less than a third of a mile from Petco Park and it was right in the Gaslamp District, super close to the Convention Center. The staff was very attentive. Everyone was very kind and helpful, and when we called to get either extra towels or more coffee cups, they were delivered within less than 10 minutes.

A minor/nit-picky thing for us but something worth mentioning are the ice buckets. We got one from the front desk when requested, but it turned out to be paper. Basically a very large paper cup. I wish it had been something more durable as, if you left any ice in it, it would leak.

Location is great for exploring the Gaslamp District. Also, the rooftop lounge was fantastic! Great drinks, awesome views of the city.

I like Courtyards because they are pretty much the same anywhere you go. Bed, small sitting area, workspace, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker. However, the rooms at this location are very small. Just bed, desk where TV is mounted. Bathroom is nice size (ample counter space). I was only in town for one night, and by myself, so no big deal, but if you were staying longer and expected a typical Courtyard room, you'd be disappointed.

Wendy was awesome! She made our check in experience very smoothe and answered all of our questions. All of their rooms have a mini refrigerator (does not mention that in the amenities). I loved that the location was in the heart of the Gaslamp which meant lots of restaurants were in walking distance.

I didn't like the comfort of the bed. The mattress was cont comfortable at all. Nor did I like that they only offer valet on Friday and Saturday nights...If you stay beyond Saturday, you will have to "figure out" where to park your vehicle by Sunday at 1:00pm 😒 FYI, their sister hotel (Residence) will allow you to use their valet services. Lastly, the Padres stadium is in the vicinity, it there is a game going on, traffic is bonkers.

Thin walls! It was a bit noisy the first night since there was a family with little ones next door. Also very bad lighting. Having all the lights on did not brighten up the room very much.

The location was perfect. The rooms are clean and modern and super cozy. We appreciated the attention to detail and the amenities. The staff was courteous and Parking was easy, using valet. We did not have a chance to experience the breakfast and coffee. The Nolan bar was really fun and the view of the skyline was beautiful.

The location was great. We were there from Sun - Mon, so Starbucks was not open on premises on Monday, and we got to the front desk too late for the complimentary coffee, but Harmony at the front desk made sure we got some pastries and packed us a goodie bag with water and snacks to take on our journey through the Gaslamp District for that day. Couldn't have been better. :-)

The beds were not as comfortable as we would've liked. Everything else was great.
