Hampton Inn San Marcos

Everything was great. Lobby was fresh, clean and well-appointed. Staff was pleasant and accommodating! Rooms were clean and towels were plentiful. The TV worked!! The shower was divine!! Breakfast was plentiful, well-attended and maintained. Coffee was hot and always available! THANK YOU!!

The bars of soap are always on my "list" of things I don't like. While the rooms ALWAYS have hairdryers, shampoo and conditioner, it would be GREATLY appreciated if they put more thought and effort in providing adequately-sized sweetly-fragranced bars of soap and also shower gel.

Loved the amenities within the room (fridge, microwave, comfy office chair, full length mirror, etc.) and their breakfast offered multiple options (turkey sausages, breakfast potatoes, cereal, hot fresh waffles, muffins, etc.). Also loved that there was plenty of parking, even on the weekend with the hotel being at capacity.

I would have loved to see streaming services available on the TV. Two other concerns were the pillows being a little too flat (woke up with a neck ache) and no black out curtains.

Great location and friendly staff. The breakfast was good with many selections. Nice eating area for morning conversation with family.

It needed a little updating. Hallways, elevator, bathroom, trim were a little scuffed up. Bedrooms were small. A loud party with boom box down the hall woke us up at 4:00 am on Friday night. We called the front desk, and they took care of the problem.

Odors. Lobby smelled funky when we first arrived. Didn’t notice it the rest of our stay. First room they gave us smelled like tobacco smoke. Not their fault since a customer broke the rules, except the housekeeping staff should’ve noticed it. they gave us another room immediately and apologized.

Staff was super friendly and helped us out with a mistake made by 3rd party reservation site. Clean rooms, comfortable, safe location, and great value. I would've given it a 10, but our room was right by the elevator and heard people and elevator ding at all hours, plus when we opened our door anyone waiting on elevator could see right into our room. Otherwise great experience. Would recommend.

The continental breakfast was good. They had a variety of food including eggs, sausage and waffles. There was always a staff member in the area making sure everything was well stocked and clean.

The gym was small and contained cardio equipment only.

Breakfast was good, coffee was surprisingly good. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean.

The pillows were not very comfortable. It was a tad noisy which could be lessened if the room door had a sweep. That would also help with the bright light shining in from the hallway.

Breakfast was fine as expected, several options for various dietary needs and preferences. Food was hot and area was clean. Plenty of seating for guests.

Layout of food and space could have been better organized for better flow.

I'm not a big breakfast person and usually have cereal. Maybe a few more cereal choices would be nice.

I noticed that the breakfast tables were not being cleaned after use so this would be something to impove. Also, the vending machines need to be stocked better. Every drink I chose was sold out.

the walls are thin you can definitely hear your neighbors. elevator looked dirty wasn’t cleaned daily, bathroom needs updating. the shower handle was so hard to close toilet handle would get stuck
