Inn by the Harbor

I loved absolutely everything! From the start you drive in and see this beautiful hotel that’s well lit and easy to find with a beautiful dolphin fountain in the front. At check in we were greet by really helpful and nice employee. He was very informative and gave us ideas of things that we can do. The location is great! We traveled with our toddler so it was nice the beach being extremely near plus a lot of food places were walking distance. Everywhere we wanted to go in Santa Barbara was less than a 10 minute drive from here which made it so convenient. We also asked front desk for food options and he provided us with a list! We ate at a couple of them, which were delicious. I really appreciated that they called us a few minutes after checking out because we had forgotten one of our toddler’s items, it showed us that housekeeping goes straight into the room after checkout which I liked because the cleanliness of this place was great and since it was soon we were still nearby to come quick and pick it up. Parking was super convenient too. Their complimentary treats came in handy and my daughter enjoyed them, the movies plus the pool! Will definitely stay here again And already recommended to others!

This was perfect for a family stop on a road trip up the coast. Room was large and comfy, having the kitchenette was a real bonus and worth the extra coat. The lush greenery in the courtyard definitely elevates the inn. Also the staff was incredibly nice and helpful, making sure we knew there was plenty of complimentary wine available for happy hour every evening. Also I hadn’t even realized I had left my coat in the room when I got a call letting me know. We were too far away to return at that point but Sam offered to mail it back to me within a couple of days.

The hotel was in a great location, around 15 mins walk to State Street and was really lovely. The complimentary happy hour was nice touch and the rose wine was delicious!! With the property surrounding the pool, it was great to have every room have a patio style door out to the pool side of the hotel which was full of beautiful tropical plants. Complimentary breakfast was served in the lobby and you could take it outside if you liked. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean- there was even a complimentary bottle of Californian champagne in the fridge. Free parking on site was also a bonus. Would whole heartedly recommend

Nothing! it was great

The staff were so lovely and helpful. There was a mix up with the reservation system so we were accommodated in the sister hotel next door- Brisas Del Mar. Justin was brilliant and couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was like a small apartment. Great for our family. Really clean. Amazing staff working hard to ensure everyone had a good time. The complimentary bikes are brilliant. There is a cute little outdoor pool and jacuzzi with plenty of towels available which the kids loved. The location is great and close to everything. The gentleman working in the evening (Mickey?) was so helpful and friendly and gave us great recommendations for restaurants. You get the feeling that the people working here really care . The breakfast, which is included, is really great. Lovely fresh pastries, fruit, bagels, cereals and coffees. Our kids adored the marshmallows, pretzels, cookies and lemonade in the lobby area. There was a lovely happy hour (which lasted way longer than an hour). We even had a complimentary bottle of Californian champagne in our fridge. We had such a great stay and thanks to all the staff.

very cute property with lots of beautiful plants around. the room was a standard room but it had an alcove just on the outside of the bathroom with a mirror so I could get ready without squeezing in the bathroom with 2 people. the bathroom was updated with new tile floors and a new vanity with drawers. good breakfast in the morning with oatmeal, fruit, yogurt parfait and free coffee all day. happy hour with wine and cookies in the late afternoon/evening. easy walking to the waterfront where all the restaurants and wharf are. the hotel is very close to the 101 so easy to get anywhere in Santa Barbara. I would definitely stay here again.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

The bed was comfortable, the wifi was fast and the staff was helpful and friendly. Property was well maintained and pretty.

The pool was smaller than expected, and closed one of the days. There was a breakfast buffet, but we missed more fruits and vegetables, and cold cuts/cheese. When we arrived we were offered an upgrade, which turned out to be on street level, although the room we had booked looked like we’d be staying on the second floor. No explanation was given.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn by the Harbor. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We loved the hours at the pool, the breakfast buffet and the happy hour. Rental bikes are free and ideal to ride to the beach and the Santa Barbara Zoo. Mickey is the perfect host!

Maybe this is cultural but I am not really a big fan of disposable plates and utensils. Food tastes better with real plates and silverware and it is more ecological.

Although the property is old, it appears very clean and well taken care of. The room was old but comfy, especially the bed. We were pleasantly surprised. For people on a budget, this would be a good place if you want to prepare your own food.

Only caveat: While we were in SB, we checked out the Upton, which has rates that are lower, which we found surprising, since it is such a pretty property. You might consider lowering your rates, as we thought $375 was too pricey for the property.

Impeccable service provided by the staff, especially the staff who served me on 23rd Feb! I’m sorry I forgot his name but he was really hospitable. Our rooms probably got upgraded to a suite because it was a weekday when we checked in and it was really kind on the hotel’s part. The location was very convenient as it was a walking distance to the beach and eateries. Despite the reviews online that the hotel looked tired, I disagree with the statement because I think they did revamp it lately and it looked as good as other hotels I’ve stayed at. Before booking, I read reviews that the carpark area looks shady but I assure you it’s not.

Soundprooofing for the rooms

I genuinely enjoyed the staff at the Inn, they were very willing to answer my questions and share information on what to do in Santa Barbara. I also was pleased with the room and the breakfast! Not too shabby for the price and stay I had.

I was not a fan of the pool hours, wishing they could extend them to 11pm would be ideal for those late night jacuzzis.
