Mason Beach Inn

The staff were fantastic, the location was great, the pool and hot tub were just what we were looking for. While we didn't make use of them, they have bikes for rent as well as beach equipment (lounge chairs and umbrella) for those who want to make a day of it. For a fee, there is also a late checkout option available so you can have one last dip in the pool. The onsite parking was useful, although some visitor's cars are very large and don't quite fit into their spaces. While you could hear some noise from other guests occasionally (typically in the morning), the overall facility was pretty quiet.

The scents at the facility were very strong and overpowering. For those with allergies, this may not be a good fit for them or they may need to bring their own soap and shampoo. The Tommy Bahama everything was also bit much.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. For the price point, it met and exceeded my expectations. It's a block away from the Ocean and in walking distance to all of the great restaurants downtown. The complimentary cocktail at check-in was an added bonus. When I was checking out, I believe the manager (male) checked me out and was super helpful in letting me take some final calls out on the patio after check out. I appreciated that hospitality and grace.

Nothing really. I would pick a different room next time. My room was on the pool. I was there to write and the sounds of kids playing in the pool was distracting. BUT, that's what kids do at a pool. So nothing really.

We liked the location, the beds were comfy and the room nicely decorated, the front office staff was very accommodating. Coffee, tea and cookies in the lobby was a nice touch.

We had a dirty towel in our room upon arriving, the pillows smelled bad, and the next day after housekeeping came we didn't have enough towels or any toilet paper, we had to get them from the front desk. The gentleman doing pool upkeep in the morning was not very polite. The pool/hot tub area at the end of the night was really messy and the hot tub water was grey.

We arrived early and were able to park and walk to the beach area for lunch, which was very close. We were greeted by cookies and coffee and warm smiles by the staff and a beautifully maintained grounds and calming office waiting room. We had a room on the second floor that had an elevator to take up our luggage, which was very nice. The room was two queen beds for 3 people and was fairly spacious with a window that opened for fresh air, which we liked. We are all seniors and found that the location was nestled in a quiet area a few blocks from the main road and we could walk easily to the beach area and to restaurants. The beds were cozy and comfortable! Coffee is a must in the morning for us and it was available in the lobby to take up to our room.

It did not come with a microwave or refrigerator and that was extra, but we were only there for 2 days so we did not need them. There was no bathtub.

the hot tub stopped working before 5pm (strange af), I asked at the reception and it seems to work during “business hours”. we were told we had a first drink for free but no options offered. I booked two rooms and both had drinks on the tv stand. in one room one had prices on the tv stand for each drink and the other room had no prices whatsoever, so our party had a drink, as we were informed there is a free drink INCLUDED so we thought those were it. to find out a day later that I was charged for it. unfair practices!

Inn was very comfortable and the staff were lovely and helpful. The free coffee, porridge, fruit and cookies in reception were an welcome bonus. The pool was heated to a nice temperature which meant we were able to swim despite the cold temperatures outside. Good location only a couple of blocks from the sea front and a few from the pier and main shopping street which also had lots of eateries. Breakfast wasn't provided but recommend Jeannine's on the front who do an excellent selection.

Nothing but it was a shame that the hot tub by the pool was closed for cleaning for the duration of our stay.

Superb being only 5-10 mins from the main restaurants. About 20mins to downtown shops. Freshly renovated and clean good sized rooms, though they did feel a little dark (ground floor). Great pool and jacuzzi open until dusk with fresh towels supplied. Complimentary fresh coffee provided all day at the reception, with warm fresh cookies in the morning. Free safe parking. Nothing not to like.

Would have been nice to have a separate outdoor seating area away from the pool. But that is minor as there are tables and chairs by the pool.

Delightful hotel just 2 blocks back from Santa Barbara beach, and just a short stroll into town. Rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable and there's adequate parking (needs to be booked and paid for). Staff are extremely helpful, the welcome drinks are a nice touch as is the endless supply of coffee and fresh baked cookies in the lobby.

If possible try to get a room upstairs as the family above us were quite noisy. Avoid room 119 because it's by the exit to the parking lot - we're woken by people wheeling their suitcases past our window.

Hotel is very nice- modern and spacious rooms, beautiful landscaping, and great location not far from the beach and harbor. The room was nicely decorated, very clean, and the beds were great. The bathroom was updated and clean. Staff were gracious and professional. We were given a free drink at check-in, which was a lovely gesture.

I thought it was tacky to charge $12.00 for parking at the hotel. I believe the hotel also charges for early check in. I've never run into that before at a hotel. The only hotels I have stayed in which charged for parking were located in big cities.

This is one of those places where the pictures of the hotel do not do it justice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. We stayed in the king suite, and it is clear the has been recently renovated. The bed was super comfortable and the toiletries and amenities were on point. The check in process was really smooth and you really can't beat the location...it is a block from the beach. Would totally stay here again.

I thought parking was free but it is 12 per night. Not a big deal but that should be clearer on this site. Plenty of parking so it is worth it.
