Great location and friendly staff

Ants we all over the middle of the room due to the charcuterie plate being left out. House keeping was not available to come to the room and other staff were “not able to assist”. They did offer another room, but that meant packing up and moving for what sounded temporary until the next day… we declined. We did push to have the bell staff assist with bags earlier than expected, 8 am and there seemed to be negative energy coming from the valet/bell lead.

Pool was closed

The pool being closed was a major ding. And I thought I had booked a room with a terrace—which was important, because I’d planned on doing work outdoors there. I ended up writing indoors at the common lounge across from the check-in desk, and occasionally outside of the property cafe.

this place is amazing. the service is exceptional. the rooms are large and gorgeous. we loved the fireplace in our room! we ended up eating at Layla for both dinner and breakfast. I didn’t want to leave. I wish we could’ve stayed there for a week!

nothing! it’s just not cheap. If I had to pick something, it’s that the bathroom had a massive tub but nothing special for the tub: it would’ve been perfect if there had been bubble bath and a bath pillow. I ended up using the shower gel and a hand towel.

The service was wonderful (all of the valets, front desk, pool attendants, restaurant). Layla was a fantastic meal (dinner, and breakfast), and the facials were very good (Norma was great! although the front desk spa attendances were a bit unfriendly for the environment. The rooms are beautiful, the decor of the lobby and restaurants, truly wonderful.

A bit of feedback - would be very helpful to have a weekend shuttle, even Friday/Saturday to get to the square since Uber/Lyft is near impossible on weekend nights. While the hotel and beautiful, upscale, and the grounds are as well, the price per night at $900+ is steep and not sure worth that price. Not sure if this was

Gorgeous property. Well maintained renovation, amazing rooms with everything you could need.

$$$$, breakfast at Layla was average. Toast not toasted, bacon deep fried, wait staff not very friendly. No shampoo or soap in shower dispensers.

Everybody from the hotel made us feel very comfortable - it was a wonderful experience. Will come back again

some small things, e.g water from the shower could leak through the door as it’s not insulated, shampoo stand was not properly fixed, but these are very small details

We stayed at MacArthur for a bachelorette party - the rooms and grounds were beautiful. Grounds had gorgeous gardens, felt private, pool was nice. Rooms are redone and spacious, very clean. The restaurant onsite is delicious - bfast/lunch/dinner menu have a lot of variation so you don't get bored. Staff was very helpful and friendly, service at the pool was great (fast, friendly, great cocktails, good food).

- asked the concierge for ideas to make the stay special for the bride, one was to get a s'mores kit after dinner - he told me on check in to come to the front desk when we wanted one and when I did the man at the desk said they had been out of them for 2 days? - we all got massages, one girl told her masseuse 3 times that the pressure was too much - her back was bruised after the massage

It was our second time here - we really love the place! The premises and interior are contemporary and beautiful, the rooms are very clean, roomy and fresh! The restaurant is actually very good, which I feel is rare for a hotel. I think we got a upgrade by mistake, with a bottle of champagne, which obviously was much appreciated after the initial back and forth during check-in. We had a canine companion and they were very accommodating. The room we got had a private patio which was very convenient with the dog. Breakfast was very tasty, all though I would have wished for more options aside from the classics. Pastry options would be great, too!

The property is very well maintained, rooms are spacious, excellent customer service, attention to details. Emily at breakfast such a wonderful kind person to assure to provide excellent service. Michael at front desk helped us with transportation and restaurant reservations , Jeff at the bar just knew what we needed to unwind. Everyone was eager to serve, these are all individuals who made our long weekend special. Thank you !

Not only was the property lovely, the rooms spacious and well appointed, the location in Pacific Heights was new to us and wonderful too. The breakfast and cocktail hour were over the top and when I commented on the deliciousness of the honey I enjoyed both morning and evening, I was told it was being produced in small batch by bees on the roof of the hotel - impressive. I was gifted a jar (they plan possibly to retail at some time), which was above & beyond! I travel a lot and highly recommend 👏
