Elm House Inn

The breakfast was above average when comparing to other hotels in the US. Pretty nice location, close enough to Napa city center, where you can find good restaurants. Parking right in front of the hotel, with enough spots for every room. Rooms well kept and very attentive staff. P.S.: Despite the compliment for the breakfast, be careful about expectancy. It's rare to find hotels with continental breakfast and good options in California, unless you pay a LOT for it. The breakfast they serve is way above average what you find here, but it's nowhere near what you normally find in many countries. There aren't many hotels that offer breakfast around here anyway, so this one is far ahead its peers.

Breakfast is served only starting from 8, but most of the places nearby are not open before 9 or 10 anyways, so it's not an issue overall. Just worth mentioning.

Loved the location of the this hotel. Quite close to the areas we wanted to visit. A parking lot was a plus. Loved the lobby area which served water/coffee/tea for free 24×7. Did not use the public hot tub but it seemed nice and private. The staff was welcoming too. We had a room with 2 queen beds for 4 adults. It was quite nice to have two sinks, one in the bathroom, the other in the little area by the closet and mini fridge.

The protein choices during breakfast were scarce. The airconditioner was very noisy so we kept it off as it was cool enough at night.

I liked the room, it was spacious and we had 3 people, so the little extra room with a sink and mirror was nice, when someone was using the bathroom. The breakfast was great, with hot omelets and waffles in addition to the regular continental breakfast items.

Since the room was upstairs, in another building there was no elevator, so carrying suitcases up the stairs was kind of an inconvenience. However it someone has a injury or disability, it would not be suitable.

Em House is a great value for the Napa Valley area convenient to restaurants and wineries. Rooms are large and very clean though some are on second story with no elevator. Breakfast was excellent with hot and cold options and a comfortable seating area. Parking is ample for the size of the property at no extra charge.

Elevator to reach the second story rooms would be helpful. No one at the reception area during breakfast service at time of check out.

Very nice hotel at an affordable price for us mid-week. The river at downtown was about a mile walk, but it was lovely with lots of vintage homes to admire, what may seem like a long walk went by very quickly and it was flat, no hills. The staff was helpful and the facility design was a nice change from the Embassy Suites and the cookie-cutter hotels we had been using.

The open interior, likely added to the noise and some rooms are by the breakfast area, so I imagine they would be noisier, however I woke up naturally so the noise, nor the smell of breakfast didn't cause a problem.

Really enjoyed our stay. It was great having a first floor to make it easier to store our ebikes securely.

Soda machine dead but not a big deal. Just a thought if there is room. Some hotels have a secure storage area for bikes which makes it unnecessary to store them in your room. You get a receipt like a parking stub which you use to retrieve it. Napa is a great place for cycling and given the cost of decent bikes you do not want to keep them in your car and the hotel doesn't need to worry about careless people dinging up the woodwork moving them in and out of the rooms. (We were very careful.) The hotel was a little further from downtown than expected but bikes solved that problem.

Location was good. Breakfast was good. Room was spacious for 3 people and room was clean. I liked the room had hardwood floor. This place also has a cute garden which is a big plus.

We could hear street noise(mainly passing cars) outside but with ear plug, I was ok. If you are very sensitive to noises, be aware.

I liked the staff was very helpful and kind. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, bed was very comfy. I liked the breakfast also, but the only thing is it is the same every day. I liked a little terrace.

Some of the rooms were a bit noisy. Same breakfast every day. 15 min by feet to the center

This hotel was the best value of our weeklong road trip. For just $100 plus taxes, we got a beautiful clean room with two sinks, a sitting area, and comfortable bed. The outdoor hot tub was clean and hot. The free breakfast was fine (cereal, fruit, and toast). Great proximity to Monticello and Honig wineries (we took an uber both ways).

All of the 1st and 2nd floor rooms face a large main common area, so sounds tend to echo. Also, the motion sensor kept making the bright flood lights next to the hot tub flash on and off (in my opinion, they should just stay off). Everything else was perfect!

The location is great - about a mile from the downtown/Napa River area so quite walkable in my opinion. Had no problem parking in the adjacent lot, which isn't large but seemed adequate. The staff is outstanding - the two young ladies I encountered at the front desk were both exceptionally friendly and helpful. Total gems! I enjoyed the always available coffee/tea service in the lobby, the outdoor spa was a great temperature and no one else seemed to be using it (score!). Room was spacious and quite clean and comfortable. They even had the remote wrapped in a sleeve that affirmatively confirmed it had been cleaned, which is really nice in these times. After many years staying in Calistoga and other parts of the valley, it was my first time staying in "Napa proper" and I really look forward to returning soon.

The room I was in, 304, had very low water pressure in the shower head - and it made a hilarious squealing noise the whole time I showered. The lighting in the bath area is VERY bright and couldn't be separated from the fan, but yeah, not much to criticize here. You can hear others in their rooms a bit, but meh. That happens anywhere.
