Holiday Inn Express & Suites Trinidad, an IHG Hotel

Trinidad Colorado is a beautiful place. The surrounding area is full of mountains, trails and nature. The hotel is set in front of a mountainous area and is just beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were super soft and cozy. The meal in the morning was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had! The quaint and cozy town of Trinidad is just a minute away. We had a wonderful meal at M2 and ice cream shop located on the main city drive. Food and atmosphere was fantastic. Small town feel and charm. You can tell that the pandemic was not kind to this area in regards to the business and tourism areas for their economy and it’s in rebuilding phase. It’s an area that we will definitely come back to again for the hiking and parks.

Nice job renovating this hotel. It actually smelled clean when I walked into my room. The beds are very comfortable. They even offer a wonderful cooked to order breakfast and good cinnamon rolls.

I bought a coke from the vending machine on the second floor. The price showed up as $1.60 but my credit card was charged $5.20. When I notified the front I was told I would have to call the coke company because they did not own the machine. I was offered some snacks which I declined. Also, I went to the desk to get caffinated coffee as all but one serving in my room was decaf.

Loved the view from our room! People were friendly and it was super clean!

we were so looking forward to the pool and jacuzzi  but unfortunately it was closed. one of the main reasons for picking the Hotel was to be able to relax after a 6 hour drive. Would of been nice if we were informed that the pool would be closed so we could of changed our plans if we chose to.

Room was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Hotel desk staff was very nice and polite.

Breakfast was very disappointing. The food service area was closed off to the guests. We had to wait to be served upon request. Once served, the food was cold and had to be microwaved. One woman was trying to serve everyone. Not sure why we couldn't have just served ourselves like we did at another Holiday Inn Express in another Colorado town.

The breakfast was better than a lot of the other hotels we stayed at. Since we were only staying one night on our drive home from Arizona, the location was fine for our purposes.

We arrived late at night and hadn't eaten anything since lunch. It would have been nice to have had a better meal option in the hotel. We were too tired to go to a restaurant.

The room was great. Really nice newly renovated hotel. Very nice! Breakfast and the staff at breakfast was great. Only thing is they have people serve the breakfast and waste a lot of styrofoam boxes which isn't good for the planet. But hotel was great.

Hot tub by pool area, the jets didn't work. Went down to relax in the hot tub and no jets. Also, no water fountains working. We had to get hot water and put ice in the hot water. But nice rooms. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very very very clean rooms and facilities. The rooms smelled clean without having that stubborn bleach and other cleaning chemical smells. The sheets were not stained and felt soft. The receptionist was also very friendly and helpful with my questions.

No complaints

The refurbishment at the hotel inside and outside is a total success. Lobby was functional and light. Bedroom and bathroom very good.

My only comment would be about the older and noisy heating/cooling unit under the window. Unfortunately we had to leave the hotel at 5am and missed out on breakfast.

Everything was great, construction was very confusing to navigate. The greatest part of my stay was the lady serving breakfast, i think her name was angel. She had a great attitude and a contagious smile, she truly loved her job and her herself made my stay feel perfect. Aside from the awesome awesome beds!!!

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn multiple times. They do not disappoint. We stayed there 4 separate evenings (on two different trips) on the way to our final destinations and on the way home. Comfortable and roomy after a day of driving. The free breakfast is good as well.
