Everything! When I was trapped at a dirt road far from the Inn. The owner sent me four very long text messages with five attached pictures to show where to find the room key and how to get to the Inn. I was quite a lot impressed. The room is not a regular motel room but like a lodge with Western style decorations and Native made souvenirs. The breakfast is delicious. The owner was very nice to tell me where he collected so many artifacts to decorate the Inn's beautiful and comfortable rooms.

The only thing that I can mention is there is not too many electricity outlets in the room. Maybe it is due to the old design of the room but at least some power strips can be installed in the rooms.

This is a wonderful place. Michael and Brandy are super friendly and helpful. The room felt homely, full of character and was well decorated in the western style, with a great sofa. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom well equipped . There were also interesting books in the room and water in the little fridge. Great breakfast also with coffee and different kinds of tea, eggs, cereal, yogurt and pastries in a great room decorated with all kinds of vintage articles. The location was perfect for us on the road to Albuquerque. We recommend Raton Pass Motor Inn warmly and will certainly stay there again.

This is the SECOND time I stay here. Let me tell you that the inn is incredible. Very clean, very comfy. If you're one of these people who are into ritzy, chain hotels, then this one won't be for you. This inn reminds me of staying at a friend's house. It's so homey and clean and familiar in a way. You can really tell the owners and employees take pride in this cool little place. I recommend it fully.

The only thing that I noticed in the "sweet 16" suite was the door between units. It's really thin and it has a very small little turn lock. I didn't know what it was at first..so I opened the door (it wasn't locked) and was met with another door just inches away. I stared at it for about 10 seconds before I clearly heard someone cough on the other side. I kinda freaked out and closed the door quietly...locked the tiny little lock and then put the nightstand and chair behind it. That's the only part that didn't feel safe. Otherwise I really liked the room.

While there is no shortage of '50s-era motels in Raton, this one has been customized so that each room has a different kitschy theme to it. We stayed in the Matador room, and my wife spent the first fifteen minutes of our stay photographing all the fun items used to decorate the room. The owners are very friendly, and the hotel is very close to the historic downtown.

It is still an old motel, so don't expect it to have all the modern conveniences of newer chain hotels. One nice perk from that era, though, was very high water pressure in the shower--brought me back to my childhood : )

The location was good. The whole atmosphere was fun with the different themed rooms. The rooms, though small, were clean and comfortable. the breakfast also followed the theme of 1950s. Loved the whole concept!

the neighborhood behind the hotel was a bit scary. It was run down with several abandoned houses and dogs roaming the street. Most people would not even notice this from the hotel but my daughter and I took a walk around the neighborhood. It was very uncomfortable and a bit scary.

This place is a real gem! I loved the old school look of it, my room was themed and soooo comfortable. You can see the mountains from right outside your door and the owner are INCREDIBLY sweet and accomodating. I felt SAFE and welcomed. The room was cute, quaint and the bed was really clean and comfy. I normally kind of cringe at the thought of using blankets and covers in hotels (I even bring my own sometimes) but this place was so clean. I put my nose to the bed and sniffed and I smelled nothing. No mustiness, no foul odors, no perfumed sprays, nothing. It was so clean. I appreciate this place and will be coming back.

I can't think of anything I didn't like about the place. If I have one thing to say it's that the toilet in my room was comically short. Like, for me it was funny but perfectly fine. For my tall husband, it was...interesting. Still all very clean and completely useable. Again, I will be booking to come back in October so OBVIOUSLY it wasn't a deal breaker at all. I'm only mentioning it because it was pretty funny. :D

Super cute retro motel. The workers were unbelievably friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really great, (with fresh local plums!) The location was right for my purposes and was really close to the ‘downtown’. Also, they didn’t go as over the top with the themes as I anticipated, but a really fun detail. And I loved that they had a hammock and little outdoor courtyard area to hang out

I really liked everything. My only suggestion would be I would have liked a sheer curtain behind the main curtain so I could let in light during the day without people being able to see into the room.

Very quirky motel where each one of the 16 rooms have a theme. Mine was "Movie Cowboy" with lots of related posters and decorative items along this theme around the room. Room was comfortable with a nice bathroom and desk/writing area as well as a large leather sofa. TV had HULU/ROKU channels. Breakfast (not great) and 1 bottle water/day was provided. The place it at the end of town which seems like a dead-end (closed entry/exit ramp to I-25), so you need to drive into the little town for restaurants and gas. The place is run by a nice, young couple who bought from someone who collected all this stuff that the rooms are now decorated with.

I was unable to watch just regular TV channels, like the news. Maybe this was possible somehow but I could not figure it out. The theme of the room was very cool, but I had to move a lot of the decorations to the corners to be able to accommodate my own stuff (suit cases & bags). I think the room was a bit "over-decorated" but I could take a look at the adjacent room (2 rooms, really) called "All American" and that one was ok, not too bad, so it probably depends on where you end up. The mattress was terrible, very wobbly, very old and tired and used feeling. I am surprised my back didn't go out! Breakfast was not that great, mostly sugary crap (cereal, bars), the apple I tried to eat was sour. Hard-boiled egg and yoghurt were ok.

The location in the mountains near the border of New Mexico and Colorado is beautiful. Since we were leaving before their 6:30 a.m. breakfast, they provided us with choices the night before. We accepted hard boiled eggs, yogurt and honey buns! Each room is neatly themed - we were in #14 the Sombrero room. Lots of great OLD but SOLID furniture and decor. Friendly young owners took this over in late 2020 and are saving the flavor from the past! We were glad we drove a long day to get there!

There was nothing we didn't like! We love quaint and unusual and unique. That's what we found, plus a great bed for sleeping, a microwave and small frig, plenty of towels, a working heater, extra blanket, new ROKU system for the TV. Our 6:00 a.m. departure was a disappointment as we missed seeing mountain beauty in the very early morning. Wished we could have arrived earlier in the evening to see more of the area.

This motel is our go to everytime we are in the area. The rooms are clean and a decent size. The beds are comfortable. The owners are friendly. There is breakfast, coffee, ice, for free and sodas to purchase if they have them.

A hot tub would be nice after riding the mountains all day! Construction all around..not the motels fault..it just seems like its been going on 2 years :/
