Gold Leaf Hotel of Dewey

The Gold Leaf's location is excellent. It's a short walk to the beach and many great restaurants of varying price ranges. It's also close to the bay, which offers beautiful sunsets and activities like kayaking, jet skiing, etc. The housekeeping staff came around each day. I didn't utilize their full services every day bc sometimes we were in the room during to rain. However, the staff always asked if we needed towels, etc. I thought the front desk staff was friendly. The pool on the roof is nice. The hotel's decor and hallway carpets are a little dated, but the place was clean. I'd return.

Carpets are a little old, but people track sand in and out. It's probably not worth it to replace all the carpeting.

Our room was larger than we thought , loved the french balconies ...we opened the doors every day so we could hear the ocean and smell the salt air ! Being ocean block it only took less than 5 minutes to get to the beach. The recently finished pool was great , we loved being able to sit out on the surrounding area and relax . Having an elevator and cart to help with our belongings was so wonderful too ! Topping it off was the staff ...everyone was very friendly and made us feel right at home . We will definitely return often ! We have found our new " home away from home " !

There wasn't anything not to like .

the staff was very nice, the rooms are nice with a "balcony", off street parking, the pool area was nice, the beach is wonderful.

the carpet in the room could really use a cleaning. It was not dirty to look at, but your feet got dirty if you didn't wear shoes.

This was my second time staying at the Gold Leaf Hotel in two years. I also stayed in the exact same room both stays. I noticed many upgrades and improvements to the hallway and room decor however the king size bed mattress needs replacement it was very uncomfortable for me and my spouse. The new paint and new carpeting are GREAT!

Better and softer bath towels. The bath towels we were given needed to be replaced with new bath towels. These towels were way beyond their expected life.

Was coming to celebrate my birthday and sent a message asking for a room with a view of the Bay. My request was answered immediately, and I was given a room on the 3rd floor with a view. The location was PERFECT- between the Bay and the Ocean! Also surrounded by amazing restaurants.

There was nothing negative about my experience. Would've been nice to have complimentary bottled water in the room,

Friendly and polite staff; Clean hotel; Excellent location; Great water pressure in the shower; Great updated lounge chairs at the pool with beautiful flower arrangements; Reasonably priced

Overall hotel could use new decor/updating; Shower curtains could be replaced/updated; Maybe add grab and go breakfast items (muffins, etc.)

The staff and location are outstanding. It’s our second year visiting and the pool renovations were finished. The size and layout of the property is great for families with young children and grandchildren. Also the fact that there is safe off- street parking is definitely one of the best amenities!

The rooms and furniture are clean but dated.

Our room and overall hotel was clean. Found the staff friendly and helpful. Close to the beach. Nice pool area, kid liked the pool. Good location in Dewey beach to get to many places by walking. Parking garage.

Parking is limited to 1 car which is an issue due to lack of free parking anywhere close.

The location was great to the beach and restaurants.

The property was a little dated such as needing a new toilet seat and a new exhaust fan. However we travel prepared post Covid so we clean our own room bring our own sheets, we don’t do housekeeping even if it is offered ( they don’t offer). For some that may be a turn off for us it was fine and we would stay again. we stayed during the week, less noise in general.

Staff is always friendly, facilities are better than nearly all other motels in Dewey, and location is unbeatable.

Every oceanside motel kind of has the permanent damp smell to it if they have carpet, but you get used to it and it's not overwhelming.
