Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Georgetown Delaware Beaches

This hotel is located on a strip that has an abundance of everything from restaurants to various shops and grocery stores. Our rooms were spacious and CLEAN! The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the bedding was warm. I always travel with my own pillow and blanket but forgot to bring this time. My daughter loved the bench overtop the air conditioning unit and now wants one in her bedroom! Breakfast was good considering it was included, there were many options to choose from both cold and hot. I loved the 40 minute drive to the beach having the opportunity to sight see.

No fault of the property but I knew when I booked the rooms there wasn't a balcony thinking it wouldn't be so bad because the pool area had chairs and was open for a decent period of time. Low and behold it rained for the the first two days of my stay and the pool area was closed.

What first caught my attention was the great price deal they had for the room & it was exactly what we were looking for. The 2 Front desk ladies were very pleasant & helpful. The room was as pictured as on their website. It was also clean, fresh smelling & she even had a couple lights on already for us as well as the heat. (We were there in January). Very inviting! My fiancé & I will def be back!

The only thing I can truly think of is that the Ice machine/bin was downstairs on the main floor & we were on the 4th floor. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

Staff very friendly and cheerful. Facilities are basic (like only one lamp for the whole room) but tidy and well kept. Room was quiet and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was decent. Reasonable price and about 30+ minutes mostly nice ride on back roads to Cape Henlopen Park.

Most substantial breakfast item was an egg, cheese and sausage muffin. We don't eat meat so it would be nice to have a egg and cheese (no sausage) option. We just took off the piece of sausage and threw it away.

The price was great, the facility is still new, and the location was convenient to both Salisbury University (40 minutes south) and Lewes/Rehoboth (about a half hour east) which is what we were looking for. While there are no real frills, we liked the comfortable beds and pillows, microwave/fridge, room size and outdoor pool, which we had to ourselves one night. The bagged breakfast was better than most, with a hot sandwich (english muffin with sausage, egg and cheese) in addition to a prepackaged blueberry muffin, orange and mini-bottle of water. There was also juice and coffee available. There was plenty of parking, though the lot was nearly full the Monday we arrived late in the evening. There's a Starbucks, Walmart, Redner's grocery store and solid Italian restaurant, Bella Capri, about 1.5 miles up the road, and a RiteAid and great bagel place, J&J bagels, right across the street.

We didn't like the shower head, which did not seem to function properly despite the facility being rather new. The A/C also seemed to cause the room to be freezing or slightly muggy and sticky. And every time we opened the door, we seemed to let a fly or two in the room!

The front desk lady at check in on Sept 2 I think her name was charlotte? She was amazing. And had the most sweetest accent.

The pancake machine had tons of fruit flies near it. And limit amount of breakfast sandwiches. Also only 2 lights in the room. On tiny lamp beside and one above the windows.

the property was clean.

Most of the staff was pleasant but the breakfast attendant was rude & short. She was snapping at people and whispering about people who were in the room. She complained the entire time and got smart with people on multiple occasions when they were simply asking questions.

Lot of noise in this hotel due to it being a family vacation spot. I was driving far and needed to sleep. For that reason I wasn’t super happy. The room was really nice but the bathroom was really small.

Too much noise from screaming kids running the hallways on vacation. I also don’t like that the wall thermostat doesn’t co tell the heating system in the roo . That should be seamless and easy.

When I was in a need of a luggage cart for check out there were only 2. A 3rd had been stolen.

This hotel focuses on the customer. My hotel room was spotless, nicely equipped with amenities, a comfortable bed, and importantly, a customer-focused staff. The general manager, Lisa Kester, was superb in personally helping me out. Microtel is now my go-to choice - Adios Holiday Inn Express!

Everything except breakfast.

Breakfast muffins with egg or sausage ON them? Yuck. I know it's my problem: I like eggs and Il ike sausage. I don't like muffins. So eggs and sausage that weren't in muffin "sandwiches" would have been acceptable. Or even good.
