Castle by the Sea Motel

Location to the beach. Lauderdale by the beach is a quieter beach and we loved that. It was an easy walk to the beach access and there is a wonderful little "green area" kind of park with Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy the ocean breezes in the shade. Renee, the manager in the office, during our stay, was fantastic. We had beach chairs at the asking and great beach towels to use. Easy walk to restaurants and souvenir shops. Two Italian gelato shops nearby and they serve wonderful lattes and cappuccinos.

We could have used another sitting area in our room. And the water took awhile to heat up in the shower.

We stayed in Room #2 - first floor beside pool. It was clean, comfortable & cozy. The full size beds were equivalent to a Casper bed - very comfortable! The pool was heated & there was a propane grill available (which we didn’t use). There is a covered patio area by the pool with cushioned chairs to get out of the sun, if necessary. The concrete area around the pool had palm trees and was very beautifully set up. There were also toys and floaties for the pool. There are quiet hours set so that it doesn’t get too noisy late at night and they are enforceable. They provided free towels and beach chairs for us daily. It was only about one block from the ocean - so a very convenient walk. Shopping and restaurants were nearby - which was very important to us because we did not have a car. Staff hospitality was SUPER! They made us feel welcome and provided whatever we needed. And…..The PRICE was right!

There were no outlets in the bathroom and it was small. There IS a full length mirror in the main bedroom area with an outlet - so if you need to do your hair or make up you can do it there. The room had 2 full beds. We would have preferred 2 queens - but the room was too small for queens (which I understand). A bit tiny for 4 adults, but we made it work. It was super clean and that was important to us.

Castle by the sea was the perfect spot for our first family vacation. The motel was clean and accommodating. Room 4 was the perfect amount of room for me, my husband, and son. The kitchenette was stocked with plates, silverware, pots, and a few other utensils. The facility also provides beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas. The pool was the perfect temperature for our little ones first swim. And the motel is conveniently located 1 blocks from the beach, about 3 blocks from the downtown area, and 3 blocks from a grocery store. We have stayed at other motels on Ocean drive and none are as pleasant as Castle by the Sea. We will definitely be back thanks for a great stay!

We would have liked to have housekeeping service daily but not a deal breaker.

The Staff was very Friendly and accommodating. The room that we were in looked just like the pictures. It is so relaxing by the pool there and right near the beach. It is only a few minutes walk to the beach, right around the corner. It is also close enough to walk to Publix grocery store if you need to. The next time I vacation in Fort Lauderdale I will for sure choose to stay here again!

I liked everything nothing I didn't like.

Loved how close it was to the beach. The staff were very accommodating. The room was spacious. Liked having a fridge and small kitchen; you do have to go to the staff to ask for extras of things like an extra wine glass, etc., but they accommodated us easily when we did.

The room could use some updating; the bathroom was small--no place to put things. But there was a nice big closet space--would have appreciated some shelves there to put our toiletries. There is no view--the back of our room looked into an alley and the wall of the next building. Great value though considering how expensive the area has become!

Location of property, price/value, and staff helpfulness.

The only thing I highly suggest is to not have the staff using the leaf blower in-action while guests are in the pool area (got sand and foliage debris blown onto me from all angles)....and obsessively for a LONNNG and LOUD period of time. Clearly the guy likes to use the blower!! Also, there were cars parked without office-supplied parking tags....almost costing me to pay-to-park in a nearby municipal lot late one evening after returning from dinner, etc.

The room was very nice and comfortable. It had a large open closet area and a modern bathroom. Location could not be better. A short walk to the beach and restaurant. Easy checking and good communication with the manager.

The ceiling fan did not work. And in my opinion the room needed at least two lamps, it only had the light on the night stand. A ceiling fan with lights would take care of the problem.

Within walking distance from the beach and restaurants. Room was very spacious and very clean. Staff was wonderful.

Sadly, we were not able to get beach chairs each day as they were already handed out to other guests who beat us to them. My only recommendation is to purchase more chairs as guests who travel without them because the website says they have them...end up having to do without them.

The hotel is close to the Commercial Blvd Pier and all its attractions, pretty easy to get to the beach and restaurants nearby.

There were some noisy guests but that's not the hotel's responsibility.

great spot close to the beach and Lauderdale by the sea pier! Rooms were very clean and look exactly like the pictures. Also nice to have a coffee machine and mini fridge. Staff was great, helpful and always available

wasn’t really a big concern but the room was right next to pool area and on main floor where people walk by, so difficult to keep blinds open when getting ready and for privacy. Just something to keep in mind.
