Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club

It was very refreshing to find accommodation in the US where the owner is passionate about being eco friendly and plastic free. The “plastic” is all compostable and there are only refillable toiletries in the rooms. The 2 bed double and king suites were super comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. There is free use of the paddle boards and kayaks which was a pleasant bonus. All the staff were fantastic, friendly, and very keen to help sort any issues. The hotel is well situated very close to all the supermarkets and facilities in Marathon and not too long a drive from either key west or key largo. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back.

Nice quiet location, spacious rooms with a great view. Elevator and trolley helpful for checking in and out. Welcome drink was greatly appreciated and delicious after a long drive. Free options for kayaks and SUP.

Our stay was mostly positive. some of the negatives could have been mitigated if I had done a bit more research or had just mentioned the issue to staff. There is no restaurant on site so meals needed to be found nearby. Not a big deal except for breakfast-coffee was available, though in a common area. Upstairs bar had just recently opened (that week) and small plate options were available but we didn't try them There weren't any glasses in the room or water. I was told glasses were on order and lack of water was an oversight. Top floor booking would be best since footfalls can be heard if you're on the lower floor

This hotel is in a great location & has beautiful grounds & views. Comfortable bed, lovely shower. Free coffee in morning. Shame that the restaurant isn’t finished & open yet. Looks like it will be amazing. Lovely lunch at sister location, Bongos at the Lagoon. Great to have free kayaks & paddle boards, unfortunately it was too windy to take advantage of these. X🥲 Friendly, helpful staff. Expensive, but I would still stay here again.

Expensive for what you get. It’s all about the location & the view. No water provided in fridge (even the cheap motels had complimentary water! ), although there was always water available at the pool bar. No coffee machine or kettle for hot water, no Ironing board. Noisy people in pool very late on first night. Since the building is predominantly made of wood, the floor upstairs from our room creaked a lot when walked on - the person upstairs was very heavy footed & noisy. If stayed again would request a room on the top floor.

No breakfast offered, coffee at the Tiki was nice though. People were great, staff was friendly. House keeping super quick with towels or grabbing trash. Pool was nice. Kid's loved smoothies. Parking in the shade and the view was beautiful.

The Kitchen was not stocked with any pans for the using the oven, only 2 pots for stove. We had 5 people staying there and only 3-4 plates with an odd number of silverware but we made it work okay. Fridge/freezer was leaking (towels provided though), TV in guest room wasn't working but KT came and fixed right away. We did late arrival and checked in via the lock box but never got information on the hotel/wifi password until next morning (not a big deal though).Drink seemed expensive, ordered one beer (Iguana Bait) and price with tax and tip was $16, would have liked to see prices posted.

Very spacious room and bathroom, great value for the region, well-located for middle-keys, very friendly staff, beautiful views, adults-only specific area for pool and beach, and a very nice and quiet pool area.

Could use some more shelving/storage and wall hangers options for bathroom to store and hang things. Beach could use a little more manicuring, and maybe some recycling options, but otherwise, a great place!

Great views from every room. Highlights of our trip included taking the catamaran out for a sail, kayaking and sitting on our balcony drinking cold beers in the evening. Very close to all the activities you might want to do on the keys (fishing, snorkelling, parks, turtle hospital etc)

The restaurant was closed for renovations during our stay which meant driving around for all our meals. Thankfully there is a mini fridge so we got a few breakfast essentials. Would have loved a coffee machine in the room (although free coffee was provided at the bar in the mornings).

What a paradise this place is! Loved everything about Grassy Flats. The check in was easy and the staff very friendly. The room was really beautiful with a balcony and the stunning sea view. I spent a couple of hours watching the sunrise and just across the road you can also watch the sunset. There is a deck bar and the cocktails are great. The view from the bar is unbelievable. I just loved everything about this stay, would come back for sure.

Miss a coffee machine in the room..

Felt private and secluded whilst still being within easy reach of anything required. Staff extremely helpful with any needs and couldn't apologise enough for the seaweed which in fairness was nothing to do with them!

Only downside is no coffee facilities in room but was aware of this. Just didn't expect the downpour walking to get morning coffee time but it saved me needing a shower!

We stayed in the newly renovated Adults only building and loved everything about it. We had the most amazing view from our room and balcony. Room was so spacious and relaxing. Staff was wonderful.

We are early risers & love watching the sun come up while enjoying a cup of coffee. There is no coffee in the room & the tiki hut that serves it doesn't open until 7:30, we just wish it opened earlier.
