Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Punta Gorda, an IHG Hotel

My husband and my self love this place very much,all the staff were very friendly and helpful indeed they went out of their way to accommodate us ! Stephanie and the gentleman that worked at the front desk was really helpful I forgot his name though Ronald I think he checked us in late one night we were driving from Ma. My awesome husband drove 24 hours nonstop only for food and drinks and gas ! We were sooo tired couldn’t even walk being in our truck for hours on end! Mrs. Debbie and her husband Ron do the breakfast bar in the morning which was out of this world so good everything they had sausage they had the sausage patties they had eggs they had cheese omelettes. They had bacon they had you name it cereal they had it they had everything underneath the sun for breakfast they served they were wonderful. Also, there ! The young lady that does all the laundry. She was really a nice lady also and our beds were made they were wonderful they were so they looked like they were ironed the beds were clean and very comfortable and the place was immaculate  so very comfortable. It was like sleeping on clouds.  the lady that cleaned the rooms was so sweet. I think her name was Beverly but I’m not sure I lost my card that they wrote their names down on and I apologize that I don’t remember ! so I’m going by memory here. It’s a place that I would really want to stay at again. It’s a holiday Xpress and it’s in Port Charlotte Florida. I would recommend it to anybody that is looking for comfort and you want to be spoiled and clean and it was immaculate. The place was just it looked like a model hotel ,because it was so clean. It was just wonderful and you will not be sorry whatsoever.

Safe we liked everything about the property. They have cameras everywhere so you don’t have to worry about your vehicles. 

We were scheduled to leave very early in the morning and the staff offered to make us to go bags since would be missing the breakfast times. The entire building was so clean. The beds were very comfortable which made for a great nights rest before flying home. We were able to drive just a few minutes to get food, though there is a McDonald’s next door.

This was the first time I’ve ever used Booking.com to book a stay. The employee at the front desk did say that I would be better off booking through the hotel site next time for points and what not. I received an email that said the amount for the room would be coming out of my account. I was under the impression this was the whole charge. When we got to the hotel, I was charged more and didn’t get an explanation of what the additional charges were for. It was still a great experience.

Location excellent for overnight stay before early flight. Second room (see below) was almost excellent. It had a comfortable bed and pillows, a shower stall instead of a tub (yuck), plenty of towels, a mini fridge and microwave, a sitting area with couch, table and chair. Left too early to experience the breakfast.

First room was terrible! It was right next to the elevators and you could not even hear the TV over the noise of them. The kind clerk gave us another room but, still, even another 4 doors down, you could hear the elevators, just a bit less.

The room had a good layout and was clean. The shower was especially good.

The breakfast was disappointing, as usual. The hot items like eggs and biscuits are the worst. I've stayed at Holiday Inn Express hotels so many times I usually stick to fruit and oatmeal unless I'm eating breakfast out. All Holiday Inn Express's have the same problem, so it's not an issue only at this location.

I had a cheese omelette and bacon which was very good. Coffee was good too. The room was very comfortable and the bath was nice too, but the Keurig coffee maker didn’t heat water unfortunately.

The light in the parking lot is incredibly bright and shines in the room all night, making it hard to sleep fully. There needs to be curtains that block that light! One more thing, the shower head was leaking and spraying quite a bit of water on the floor, which could cause someone to slip and fall.

Very friendly. Booked a week stay 20 minutes before arriving and they were vet accommodating.

Theo pool was only used by my husband a s I. The pool is next door to a very busy 24 hr McDonald drive through so our watched constantly. There was no privacy drapery or any tables with umbrellas all week out in 90 degree heat and full sun. Young family had no way to protect the kids and older adults tried but was just to hot. The chairs were a poor choice because of the metal frames got so hot it burned your arms. Needed better planning by corporate and maintenance.

The property was easy to get to from the expressway, good distance from restaurants.

They’re going through extensive remodeling work, and I would have preferred to be warned before I got there. The room I got was clean, but it had no baseboards and the bathroom needed some finishing work. Again a heads up would’ve been nice.

I loves the cleanliness and the modern looks of it. The rooms were spacious. I had a king bed and a big tv across from me. Very comfortable. Quiet. Nice big window. Just loved it! Hospitality was great, attentive team and breakfast was complimentary and they had a variety of food. I will definitely stay here again when i return in two weeks.

They have a long chair where you can sit and put your feet up but it looked like it hadnt been cleaned from last guests but that was the only thing i would point out.

Awesome free breakfast available. Rooms are updated and very clean. Fitness room is clean but small.

Fitness room has a TV on the wall but the treadmill, elliptical and bike faced the opposite wall and there was no remote insight even if you just wanted to listen to it. LOL! The pool was really small and definitely could not accommodate guests even at half occupancy.

Breakfast was very good. Very clean room and quiet

Room across the hall left their empty pizza boxes and other food items on the floor outside their door. We came in very late around 11:30 and I know that you are probably short staffed at time of night. Just wasn’t very nice looking to see. Too bad they didn’t call down and had a place to put it and not leave in hallway.
