the entire experience was exceptional but Hans … the manager makes the experience out of this world. I came with four teenagers and my sister and she went out of her way to make us comfortable and happy. there was game room and movie night with popcorn with chocolate chips !!! she had coffee on the back deck and told us stories of living on a boat and Washington and everything in between lol…. the property was really cool. the building was over. 100years old and the decorations have you hook vibes for sure. I will definitely be going back. oh and Hans loves the littles .. the kiddos. she buys canvases and paint and goes above and beyond!!! this place is epic

Cozy, family centered, pirate themed B&B. Kept clean and running by volunteers from all over! Cool stories from all of them. Comfortable beds and yummy pancakes and strong coffee for breakfast 🥞 ☕ walking distance to historic St Augustine. Fantastic good options really close by!

I have nothing negative to say about this place. The only "complaint" I would have would be street noise but that never really bothered us because they do have a noise machine in the room as well as offering ear plugs. The town shuts down pretty early so it's not noise all night.

This place is just adorable and Pirate Themed throughout. Perfect for families and those wanting the feel of a community. The staff is incredible and we even got homemade pancakes in the morning. The inn is on the second floor without an elevator so keep that in mind. I would 100% go back with all 4 of my kids and we would all be able to stay in the same room.

We had to pay for Parking which was annoying but seems to be standard practice in St Augustine.

An absolutely amazing experience. Could not have asked for a better location . The rooms were wonderful. They had so much character. My kids although older, were so excited and mesmerized by the rooms. The staff there were phenomenal. Very easy to get a hold of. Hans and Filipe were so friendly, they made you feel at home . The pancakes Hans made for breakfast were absolutely delicious. She even wrote our names on them. I will definitely be coming back and I would recommend this place 100

I loved everything!!!

Hans was a gem. She was exceedingly kind and tried to help out with extra concerns. I had been suffering a dental problem on my road trip and she provided me with a special sorbet and offered Motrin. This definitely feels like a unique B&B, unlike a chain, and the location is unbeatable - the main attraction is just steps away! Importantly, check in is at 11:00, which allows you to get a full day of accommodations! Also, right next door is Pizza Alley, which is well worth a visit.

My kids and I loved the special pancakes! The location was perfect! We walked to the fort, to Ripleys, to the churches, and everything else we wanted to see. The only time we needed the car was to go to the island to tour the lighthouse. There are no TVs in the rooms which I actually really liked. There was a TV, gaming system, and real games in the common room which we took advantage of: it was good family game time.

This doesn't deserve a frowny face, but my little boy usually takes baths, but a shower was the only option for our room. He was fine with taking a shower, though.

Very imaginative theme. Everything was well thought out to make you feel the pirate spirit. Kids of all ages, including those in their 70’s, will love it here. Jenny was fantastic! She was always happy and helpful. Gabriel, a volunteer, greeted us all 3 mornings with fresh pancakes and friendly conversation. Great coffee also. Location was great. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Unfortunately, due to the building’s age, shops below and no room along the perimeter of the building, there is no place to install an elevator. Senior pirates may have difficulty going up and down the stairs. We will return if we are able to go up and down the stairs.

I loved everything about the motel. It was old, not spotlessly clean (the important things like the sheets, toilet etc were very clean), and it was casual, but all of those things added to the fun "pirate environment". We were traveling with five kids, mostly teens, and it was perfect for our group. They loved the decorations, the TV/game room, getting their customized pancakes every morning, and the fun little treasure hunt that the staff created specifically for our room. We were in the Captain's quarters which sleeps 8, and we had plenty of room. Having a king size Master bed, which was very comfortable, was definitely a nice bonus! The motel is within walking distance to everything. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that the bathroom does not have an outlet. The entire room actually has very few outlets, but that's typical in old buildings. They were plenty of charging ports for our devices. Also, when we first got there, I went up the stairs (which are so cute!) but then didn't know where to go to check in. The office is not marked. I assumed it was the split door all the way to the right (it is, BTW) but it was locked. Thankfully, Jeffrey showed up within few minutes and took great care of us. If you are looking for somewhere fun, centrally located, casual, and unique, I definitely recommend the Pirate Haus .

Was right in the middle of downtown St. Augustine was able to walk everywhere. Friendly staff, with free pancake breakfasts, with either names or ocean themed pancakes in the morning. Theming was great for the kids especially the play room, that they made sure to spend some time in every morning. Would definitely stay again. Bunk Beds for the kids was a nice touch.

Being downtown it was pretty noisy later in the evening, (They did provide a sound machine to help block it out). Its a little older and could use some updates, but was definitely acceptable for the price, especially for the location. No TV in the rooms, but one in the main room, and wifi was available for watching shows on personal devices. Only pancakes for breakfast, can be a problem when needing to limit carbs, but plenty of places to eat within walking distance if you need something different.

Our main contact at the hotel was Jeffrey. He was a pleasure to deal with, nice and polite, a good conversationalist and easy going. We stayed for 2 nights in the Captains Quarters. The room was cool. Unique hand painted art work on the walls. The king size bed was comfortable, the bunk beds not so much. We all slept in the king size bed the second night. Our first breakfast we were greeted by Jeffrey. The coffee was brewing, orange juice was on the table. He made us some of their world renowned pancakes, they were delicious. I've eaten my fair share of pancakes in my life, I know a good pancake. Next day's breakfast Conrad hooked us up with a work of art. Made me and my wife a huge heart shaped pancake with our names in it. The thing was huge, we split it in half. Then Conrad, made our son his very own unique pancake. It's a very unique bed and breakfast. The location is amazing for the price you pay. Just a stones throw away from St.George St. in the heart of Saint Augustine. Your literally a 5 min walk to the Bridge of Lions. Also the fortress is 5 min walk away. You park your car at the Pirate ☠ Haus inn, and you can walk anywhere in downtown comfortably. They aargh a very family friendly bed and breakfast. If your looking for a sweet location downtown that doesn't break the bank, this is your spot.
