The Ponce St. Augustine Hotel

Love the ice maker in the room and the back view was great. Pool and hot tube was great.

Right beside the railroad track so didn't sleep great because of that..

The location was great!! Within walking distance to downtown.

The floor in our room was dirty, but everything else was very clean.

Beautiful clean room with a stunning view, loads to watch on TV, and a microwave and minifridge to heat up leftovers from the delicious hotel restaurant. The little 24hr shop near the reception was incredibly handy, especially when I needed to grab a some caffeine before heading to the Old Jail After Dark at midnight!

The restaurant staff seemed quite annoyed by how many customers didn't have a reservation. Seemed odd that paying guests of a hotel should be expected to book their table at the one hotel on the premises! We eventually got a table and the food was excellent though, so I can't complain about it much. Again, just an observation.

The hot tub And the fur pits with the outdoor couchs it's a great way to relax. Also the free Redbox it's their version but it's all the new movies you can watch with DVD players in the room and they're free

No breakfast it's definitely a con not a pro and the restaurant is way to expensive for the quality of the food

Room was clean. Parking lot was well lit. Bed was comfortable. Location was great, close to a lot of attractions. Pool was well maintained..

Room needed some paint touch ups. Hate all the little pillows so we brought out own pillows.

Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Liked the sitting area outside, so you could watch the sunset. Fun when the train passed, when we looked at the sunset!

It was a little smelly when you walked in to the room, otherwise it was good.

The front desk staff and the DeLeon Restaurant staff are genuinely wonderful people. The DeLeon's food is absolutely delicious with portions enough for two at reasonable prices. The room view of the marsh is a beautiful site. The room is exceptionally clean with a terrific room cleaning service. The location is perfect with the Welcome Center next door for a free shuttle ride to downtown St. Augustine for the cost of a Trolley ticket for the day to tour the historic district and learn the city's history along the way. I highly recommend The Ponce and would stay again. Thank you for making my stay welcoming.

There isn't anything I didn't like.

The room was very spacious, modern and clean with a tile floor. We had a room with a king size bed and a queen bed as well as two pull out chairs. The shower was tiled with two shower heads. The pool was nice with a hot tub and a lot of reclining chairs as well as a gas fire pit with exterior sofas. They had free mocha lattes and cookies from 3 to 6. We also enjoyed the restaurant and watching the sunset from the community deck.

Former reviews have complained about the train noise but if you have a room near the pool or facing the street then you don’t really hear it. I didn’t hear many trains go by, maybe two, while we were there. If you use the pull out chairs for extra sleeping, they are really too narrow for adults but might be fine for young children.

The property needs a separate ice machine on the second floor for easier ease of getting ice. Ice machine in room took a little bit to start making ice.

We arrived ridiculously early at 9:30 am, and since several rooms had already been cleaned, they allowed us to check in, which really helped us. My compliments to daytime staff, night staff ok, but not exceptional. Room clean and very good for price. Room was very clean, but still 2 baby roaches (not uncommon in FL ) other than that truly excellent for price. If you read reviews prior to booking like we did you see complaints about train tracks behind property, minor noise in reality, never bothered us, others complained of busy road in front being hard to cross, idiots don't realize it's on a main road, duh!! It's fine unless your handicapped. Overall cleanly and pleasant especially for price. Would recommend, complaints from others are basically rubbish. Great helpful daytime staff, solid clean accomodations at solid price, 3/4 mile walk to main attractions. Will stay again.

Only thing less than ideal, 2 baby roaches in otherwise excellent clean room. But it is Florida, and located next to river. We are fl natives, we understand that it can happen, especially in cold rainy weather.
