Homewood Suites Savannah Historic District/Riverfront

Location was convenient to everything. Free breakfast is always a bonus. Room size was great.

Booked a room with a river view. The "large" window by the couch had a decent view, but it wasn't a large window at all. The small window by the bed was almost pointless. It was so high off the floor that the only view was of the sky. You literally couldn't see out of the window from a seated position. And standing, you'd have to be between the bed and window to have a decent view. The room was sufficiently clean, but the table in the elevator lobby had a visible layer of dust. The front desk was unable to accept cash payments for snacks purchased in the lobby. Valet parking was extremely expensive ($45 for the night).

I loved the location, rooftop views and vibes, pool, complimentary upgrade due to Genius status, nice front desk/restaurant/housekeeping staff, store wares, lounge areas w/ fireplace and comfortable bed/pillows. The hotel smelled good too. The breakfast was tasty. They changed it up during my stay.

I did not like that my city view room faced a creepy looking, deserted building. Also, I didn't like the smug bordering on condescending attitude of the Concierge (older gentleman with short hair). He acted as if he didn't understand what I was asking when I asked about River St. shops and such. He was the only one, who I encountered during my entire stay, who did not exude friendliness.

We enjoyed the roof top lounge and the entertainment was great! The food on the roof in the evening was also delicious too. The room was spacious and the roll-in shower for our handicap son was wonderful. The place was so nice and clean too. Thanks!

The breakfast eggs were covered in too much herbs and the staff was difficult when we told then we would like a tray to bring our disabled son his breakfast in the room. They told us trays were only in the room and we had to go back and get our tray, As I had just come down the elevator and from the furthest room on the floor I decided to juggle everything as I wasn't able to navigate another long long walk. They hovered too much to relax while enjoying your food too!

All was great EXCEPT INFORMATION about the Hotel was NOT in the Room. A pamphlet or book would HELP. RTB had to figure it out, hours and such, Room Service ??? Not sure since no book letting us know yes or no. Taxi service ?? again no information, Guest Laundry , what does it have there, you actually have to go and look. Business Cetner ?? did they have one, oh yea found it walking around. Also Wi-Fi is OPEN - REALLY, OPEN WI-FI, if you want premium Wi-Fi its $5.00 a day and I do not know if that is secured ??

I really like the rooftop bar and pool! It was literally the first time my family and I had seen a rooftop pool and bar, it made us feel a little boogie, and also the view of the riverfront was a really nice touch. Also, the view of the riverfront is great, but one problem is that sometimes the breakfast can be dry (the last breakfast that I had was much better). I had to walk around detours due to sidewalks being closed that week to get to my destinations, but it was nice to take an uber or to take a small walk to the riverfront. But, overall, I really had a great stay!

However, we are disappointed with the payment of the valet parking of the hotel and the deposit of one hundred dollars just in case things get messed up. One employee told my mom right in front of everyone at the front desk, he didn't explain that we have to pay 42 dollars for valet parking, but the bill for 100 dollars. We were totally confused about the payment, not a very good explanation on the payments right after we book. The people at the front desk literally asked for 100 dollars for a deposit, we can get it when we leave if there is no damage. No damage is there, but we were told it is for valet parking only.. we are disappointed that we had to pay for valet parking.

The staff was amazing! So friendly!! Ms. Pat made our morning every morning over breakfast. The location was awesome! We arrived several hours before check-in and they were accommodating and got us into a room immediately. We appreciated that so much, really made our arrival so easy. Being able to walk everywhere was awesome. The pool and rooftop bar where also a big selling point and did not disappoint! We can not wait to come back!!

The rooftop bar and pool were great, and wish we would have had better weather so we could have enjoyed that more. The hotel valet staff was very helpful. We didn’t have a car while there and they recommended Saralan’s transportation service to get us where we needed to go when the yellow cab company cancelled last minute. Great taxi service and helped us out all week! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was really good.

Wed evening we stumbled upon the complimentary evening snack in breakfast room. evening snack was great, but It would have been nice to have been told about it.

The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing. the valet personnel was fantastic and you can even send a text to have your vehicle waiting when you come from your room. the rooftop bar was absolutely stunning and the views were spectacular. Don’t let the other reviews about the construction detour you, you can’t hear it and unless you visually see it you would never know.

location was great, view was nice from our room, rooms were spacious, roof top area was relaxing, breakfast was good, valet was on top of getting our car, and live music was a nice touch!

Roof top was relaxing-though VERY disappointed they didn’t turn on the heated feature of the pool, the water was way to cold to swim, and that’s half the reason I picked this hotel. so disappointed I didn’t swim during my stay, we tried. Though 95% of the staff I came across were VERY pleasant, my first impression of the front desk staff gave me a bad taste. checked in between 4:30-5:30 pm on 11/4 and the gentleman checking us in was cranky, didn’t make eye contact, didn’t respond to any of my pleasant gestures, didn’t come across welcoming at all. might want to talk to him about that. 1st impression are important and I’m like the friendliest person ever! just wanted him to be friendly back!

99% of the staff was wonderful. Location was great for everything on River street. Pool was nice. Breakfast was good. Overall a good trip.

Staff named Sarah was rude and condescending. Room was to be on the river. It faced the parking lot and construction with very little river view. No restaurant on site. 42.00/day parking fee was ridiculous.. then you have to tip each time you need your car. Valets were wonderful though. Room seemed overpriced for what we got.
