Banyan Harbor Resort

The lady who checked me in was very nice and friendly. Good location close to the Lihue airport. The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable for three of us staying for a few days. I didn't have any problems with parking. There were alternate spots to park in the apartment area in case the ones near your building were taken.

A/C units can be loud sometimes, so it might be hard for light sleepers. However, if you are tired enough (from hikes for example), then you should be able to sleep through the night. Also, personally, I didn't like how there were too many mirrors in the apartment unit I stayed in.

Two story, two bedroom roomy apartment home with everything we needed. Clean. Plenty of kitchen utensils/dishes, dishwasher, huge TV, big clean bathroom, linens/towels, and no noise from the apartment tenants. Had a pool, we didn't use it at all since we went to the many beaches on the island. Good location to travel to all sides of the island. Close to town/restaurants, shops, groceries. Costco gas was 75 cents a gallon cheaper than anywhere else. Front desk helpful. Activities station in main office for tips on things to do but she was more oriented to paid activities and we were the type that wanted our own hikes and secluded outdoors activities. You can drop luggage at locked storage in office if you arrive before the 4 pm check-in.

Window airconditioners are noisey and are on 6 hour timers so likely to shut off while sleeping so room would warm up in summer. There are no elevators and we had several flights of stairs so if you can't carry your own suitcases up you would not want to stay here.

Staff was excellent. We had one of the non-updated units (but very inexpensive)- and while it was older, it was comfortable (bed was good, hot water/showerhead excellent, AC amazing!). Free parking right outside the unit. The folks above us couldn't be helped, but it did sound - until 10:30 PM - as though there was a few kids playing basketball up there the first evening (no idea what was happening!). Easy walk to a few restaurants that were nice and had great happy hours. Well-appointed kitchen with cleaning items, coffee, utensils, pots/pans and a newer washer and dryer complete with washing detergent. Pool looked lovely, but we didn't go in, we were busy exploring!

The noise from the unit above the first night was a little scary (thank goodness it didn't happen again) and the decor needed updating but, all in all, it was an inexpensive stay which is what we wanted.

Loved having 2 bedroom upstairs and 2 lanais for 4 people. It made it very spacious. Although a 5 minute walk to the ocean, we could see waves and surfers from our lanais. I wasn't so sure of location at first, but got to love it. Nawiliwili is small, charming and off the beaten path, yet has many eating options from food trucks to great restaurants. And turn up the hill toward the highway in 2 miles there are costco and malls galore. Great spot.

No coffee filters. No salt or spices for cooking.

For us the location is probably the best on the island. Very convenient to travel in any direction on the island, and minutes away from shopping areas. Only about three or four minutes from the airport by car. The rooms have full kitchens supplied with utensils and dishes. Two bedroom two bath. Very clean and well maintained. Yes, the rooms are dated but many, if not most, properties on the island are a bit out of date, and some properties are not well maintained. Banyan has staff constantly maintaining the property, and they do a good job. We have stayed here before and will do so again. Office personnel are very nice in person and immediate email responses to questions over a month before our arrival. Some properties did not even bother to answer our email queries (Initially, our vacation schedule resulted in room availability problems. Fortunately, we were able to modify our schedule).

No complaints.

Great location within walking distance of shopping, dining, and a really nice beach. Lots of space to spread out. One of our units was very nicely decorated and homey.

Hard to keep cool because instead of central air there were three window air conditioners on timers that were so worn you couldn’t tell if you were selecting the max six hours. Windows weren’t set up for cross ventilation. Near the road and the port, so noisy when the air conditioner timed out.

Spacious and nice apartment. Comfy bed. Well equipped kitchen. Clean room and property, kind staff. Very nice environment. Decent view. Good price.

Appliances are not well maintained. AC is very-very noisy. Also the fridge is noisy and hard to open. The ventilators use the same code as the neighbor so we are changing each others settings.

The condo was very well stocked with anything we might have needed including detergents for dishwasher and washing machine. Each day we could borrow beach towels. The staff was very helpful and friendly and on site from 8 to 8. The location was perfect for exploring the island, halfway between the south shore and the north shore. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and view of the harbor and Kalapaki beach. The pool was in a nice high location and not busy. Free parking on site was nice to have. If we return to Kauai, we will probably stay here again.

The condo was a bit old and showed some wear and tear, but was very clean, spacious and comfortable so we couldn’t complain.

The suite was very spacious. Full kitchen, dining area and living room. 2 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms was so nice to have. Location was great. It was a quiet location with free parking.

The air conditioner did not work so it did not cool down the room in order to sleep comfortably plus it was too noisy to sleep with it on. Some aspects of the apartment were clean but the floors were not swept.

The kitchen was supplied with almost everything you could ever need.plenty of glasses, mugs and dinnerware. It was immaculately clean. The location, Lihue, was the perfect base for driving around the island, and there was a beach across the road with restaurants and bars right there. Highly recommended.

The air conditioners perhaps need upgrading as they were noisy. But the fans were perfect.
