Red Lion Templin's Hotel on the River

We loved that the hotel was on the river and had a bar area and restaurant with beautiful views out large spacious windows. We had 7 people with us and the waitress was great. She was bartending, serving, and bussing tables too. She was very pleasant and the chef was amazing. We all ordered different meals for dinner at Current Kitchen and ALL of them were delicious and well presented. We also ate breakfast at Current Kichen and my waffle was fluffy and the fruit compote over it was delicious. My husband's breakfast was hearty and he enjoyed it very much. Our room was clean, nice and very large. The screened window opened for crisp cool air. Mini kitchen, loveseat and large coffee table to sit and watch TV. King bed was so comfortable we wanted to take it home.

We went downstairs to use indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Guests had left their used towels everywhere and no clean towels available. We had to go to front desk for some. Pool needed cleaned and timer on Jacuzzi was broken so only two jets bubbling. We soaked anyway and the kids had fun playing in the heated pool. We mentioned the timer to maintenance so it could be fixed.

The pool in the rooms need a little bit of upgrading… But you can tell they’re making a huge effort with their lobby bar restaurant area. It’s such a beautiful location. There’s so much potential here. All in all, though a great day and everyone here is wonderful.

The flooring and carpet in the rooms aren’t very nice. I had a wobbly floorboard under the carpet in the room I stayed in. Don’t know the last time the carpets have been steam cleaned or changed… look like they’ve been here forever, the furniture is a little outdated too, but a comfortable bed clean bathroom. The pool needs some love and updating as well. The gym was OK. I don’t really use a gym other than to get some walking in on a treadmill. But I do love to swim and the room that the pool in is very outdated. It could be so much nicer. But otherwise everything was great.

The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. We had everything we needed. Good location, away from the freeway, but easy to find. We had a riverview room on main floor with a very small balcony to stand out on and enjoy the view. Also had nice large window to look out. No complaints and would stay here again.

On check-in, we were not told about amenities available, such as the on-site restaurant or beach area for hotel guests' use.. I thought it was only a bar until I overheard another conversation. This is my fault as well for not asking what's available.

The girls loved the pool. we were warned when we got there, that it may be over crowded because of the amount of young ladies were at the Hotel that night, but surprisingly, it was not. The colors and the ambience was relaxing, and comfortable.

The room, seemed clean enough, but the Doors to the Balcony were definitely dated. I got locked out side on the balcony, when I stepped outside, which I was grateful I had someone else in the room. I was not overly impressed at how SLOWLY the main doors to the room closed, it can be a safety issue with just women in the room. FYI Breakfast is not Continental, you do have to pay for the Breakfast. But the staff was super helpful, and wonderful!

The location was amazing. Room was clean and quiet. But most importantly, the staff are friendly and honest. My son left his wallet in the room and they contacted us and are mailing the wallet back to us… with all the cash inside. I don’t feel like you find many honest people like this. (They contacted us before we even realized it wasn’t with us.)

Honestly, the pillows were tiny. We did talk to the front desk guy and he gave us another one and was very apologetic. The pillows were the absolute only complaint.

We called the hotel hours before check in after the hospital released me. I felt so unwell and just wanted a bed. The staff bent over backwards to help us. We checked before noon at no extra cost. They checked in on me to see how I was going. They were honestly amazing. I couldn’t wish for better or ask for more.

The room was slightly tired but it wasn’t a dislike at all. It suited us perfectly. I think it’s in the middle of a renovation. Don’t let that put you off.

The room was very comfortable, I loved the deep bathtub, beds were super comfortable. The little balcony of my room was great. Most of the staff were super friendly.

The refrigerator still had food in it when we checked in, the bathroom sink had toothpaste in it. People slamming the doors all night long because they are super heavy. When i Checked in they never said anything about the breakfast vouchers but had a sign up saying " if you dont mention the breakfast voucher when you check in you will have to pay $11.00 + tax for breakfast ." So i had to pay $22 per day for my daughter and myself because I did not see the sign, and it would have been nice if they would have made some scrambled eggs without cheese for those that are lactose intolerant.

Great view of the river. Clean comfortable room. Working pool. Great location, quiet surroundings. Delicious beer in the brewery nearby, 2 min.

Unfortunately, the breakfast was completely unsuccessful, it took a long time to cook, although there was only 1 person in the hall besides us, it was not tasty, the coffee was cold, they counted the second juice on the bill, although the menu indicated that the additive was free and did not even apologize when asked about it. At the same time, we like the hotel, I come to it again, only it is better to have breakfast elsewhere.

The room met our needs and was clean. The river view was great being able to watch the pleasure boats go in/out of the marina and waking up to the song birds and geese noises.

The building is on the older side and so the little balcony was fantastic but the wood is rotting away and a few bolts missing from the railing. room #208

Loved that it was right on the river front for a fairly nice price! I wouldn’t consider it cheap but nothing to over priced either for what you get. You aren’t right on the water - but you might as well be. When you walk to the water there is Fun unlimited rentals, they are amazing! Prices are wonderful and they have anything water you can rent! Love how convenient and close they are to the hotel. Walking distance!! I didn’t check out the pool or anything but it was open from what I could tell! They also have laundry rooms- open from like 9-10 which is nice. Just a small thing nothing to big but nice to have. Conveniently close to everything I wanted to go do. When I say close I mean like 5-10 min away from the hotel if that.

The shower is horrible. The way it pours is like an umbrella- you can’t do anything with it unless you cup your hands around it. It was so difficult. You gotta pay for a breakfast, there isn’t any complimentary breakfast but the restaurant in the place isn’t that bad. Nothing special tho. I liked everything else. :) Overall I would book this again.
