Pear Tree Inn St. Louis Near Union Station

The staff was exceptionally friendly. Doris didn't smile at all, even when I was very nice and cooperative. She was still nice, but a smile would go a long way. Happy hour is a nice feature with free drinks and snacks. The breakfast was great, and the woman running it was amazing. She worked very hard to make sure it was clean and full at all times. The free parking garage was very nice. It was clean. Beds were great.

The occasional chair in the room sunk when you sat on it. The conditioner dispenser didn't work well at all. You have to pump it many times to get just a little out. The one elevator was out.

I would’ve like to have been told about the complimentary items that were available in the dining area. I came to find out about it when my husband went to out vehicle and told me they had free soda, but I was already getting ready to lay down with the kids. My older kids stayed at Drury inn in same area and told me of the items they were told about and enjoyed themselves so much they couldn’t stop talking about it. We will stay at these hotels from now on and I will be sure to ask if I’m not told of any other extra “luxuries “ 😁 if available so that we are able to enjoy as well esp after such a long 2 day travel.

The location suited us. We have stayed there before.

We have stayed before and always were very happy there. This time the staff during snack time were rude acting to several guests. We watched and I was shocked at how much it was changed. No smiles, staff seemed angry and were huddled several times glaring at all of us. It was weird and made us uncomfortable. We sat and chatted to a family from Europe who definitely won’t be recommending your hotel. Other than a miserable snack social time which we always enjoyed before, our stay was nice. It’s a shame that part was awful because it left a sour memory of what would had been a perfect stay.

The staff is AWESOME. Miss Doris, Quinton and others responded very quickly during the tornado warning and opened up the conference/banquet space to allow safe shelter for so many people. They also responded quickly when one of the elevators broke to allow the use of the service elevator. They were also friendly and helpful

One elevator wasn’t working but they adjusted to allow the use of the service elevator providing clear signage and staff directly reminding people when there was a crowd

We had a fantastic stay. It was my husband, myself and our 3 children. It felt like we were central to everything (Busch Stadium, Zoo, Anheuser Busch were all about 10 min away). Free parking, free breakfast (that was very good), and free snacks. The staff were very kind and helpful. The staff interacted with my kids and always had a smile. The room was clean and comfortable. It was relatively quiet. We walked to Union Station and rode the Wheel and saw the light show. We are already planning a return trip and this is where we are staying.

the only issue we had was when we would leave a lot of the times we would come back and there would be trucks or shuttle buses parked in the front of the building and you could not get to the parking garage we waited over 30 minutes one day and no one ever moved until a parking came opened out front and we parked there and had to go down later to move it to the parking garage.

This hotel was fantastic. The staff was great and there were a lot of amenities - free breakfast, free happy hour, comfy beds and room overall and surprisingly quiet given how large the hotel is. It's also fairly close to the arch - we walked in about 30 minutes and had a great time walking through downtown.

Only one elevator was working during our stay, so it would often taken several (like more than 5) to get an elevator and we would have to wait for several. This wasn't a big deal for us, but unfortunately we had an older dog with us that couldn't do the stairs. Also, the dog area is serviceable but not fantastic, which is kind of understandable in downtown.

What really made the stay was the people. The employees that we met & interacted with: Miracle, Dylan, Reggie, Doris, Stephanie, Quincy & Rashan, also Hal all were professional yet very friendly and helpful. If there was a problem it was addressed & resolved promptly. Breakfast was delicious. Evening cocktails were enjoyable.

The really only inconvenience was the construction going on. The lobby restrooms were closed due to renovations.

Breakfast was typical hotel food but the quality was excellent. The location was very convenient for the activities we had planned. Having an indoor pool was also nice since it was chilly. The people we dealt with behind the counter were all friendly!

One of the elevators was down for maintenance and the other was also having some issues like skipping floors and sudden stops. The parking lot check in areas and exit was tight and congested.

5***** Review. The desk staff were really welcoming and check-in was very quick. We stayed for 3 nights for a convention. Our room was very clean. The mattress was really comfortable, and there were 5 pillows on the bed, so we had a choice of softness. I really liked the pillows and comfy bed. There was a sofa in our room which was great for watching TV, there was a microwave and a small refrigerator. The furniture and carpets were very clean. The WiFi in our room was really strong and consistent. The breakfast: Great coffee, plus different types of cereals, milk, muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh biscuits (honey, butter, jelly, etc.), gravy, orange or apple juice, and fresh fruit. There was a pool, but we did not use it. There was also a restaurant on the first floor which was open until 8 p.m. In addition, this hotel is walking distance to Union Station -- for those who aren't familiar with Union Station, it is a beautiful park-like, entertainment and restaurant center. It features the St. Louis Wheel (a giant Ferris wheel), the Aquarium, a huge rope walk for the kid in all of us, restaurants, and a lake with a beautiful fire show every hour, mini-golf, etc. Overall, this was a great place to say and I would highly recommend them.
