Motel 6-Metropolis, IL

Friendly and courteous staff. Clean but issues listed below.

The only issues I has was the door wouldn't originally lock but mgr showed how to lock till he could fix it tomorrow. The lock plate had just been replaced, and the unexplained odor. Almost a cigarette smell but it wasn't in bed or towels just in air. Even febreze wouldn't get rid of it. I have major allergies and it gave me a sneezing fit. The floor was tile so it didn't come from there perhaps someone smoked it there even though it was non smoking.

The location of this Motel 6 was perfect for us. The room was clean and looked great. Love the flooring. We will definitely stay here again, and we would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Metropolis.

I would suggest as an improvement a couple of extra pillows, but I always carry a couple of pillows with me, so it really wasn't a concern. The only other thing I would recommend is a sofa in the room. There is plenty of room for a sofa.

The room was updated and clean. Great location if you are in town to visit the dispensary or nearby winery. Much better rooms than the hotel next door. Staff was friendly Would certainly stay at this place again.

The pillows on the bed were very thin, and only three of them for two people is not enough. I had to fold mine in half to sleep on it so my wife could have two. I usually travel with extra pillows for this very reason, but I forgot them this time.

It nice & clean. Had vinyl flooring which was awesome. Not a fan of carpet in hotel rooms. It was also just not even down the street but on the back of a gas station and 2 restaurants. So that was cool location. Also just about a 10 minute or so drive down the street was The Superman Statue in town which was why I traveled here.

Would have been nice if they had like a small table and chairs. Like just 2 chairs and small like card table.

For the cost, I was very pleasantly surprised at how clean the room was, how comfortable the beds were and how nice the staff was. I'll definitely be staying here again in the future.

it’s a nice cozy place.room

the fact that I had to be upstairs and as far as I had to walk to get to my room. very unsatisfying. I’m in a condition where going up stairs is too painful. app had no choice cause he said he had no rooms.

It was quiet, cheap, and convenient. Staff was friendly. Bed was probably one of the softest I’ve ever slept in.

The room could’ve been cleaner, hairs in bathroom floor from previous person and hairs on the shower wall. Get what you pay for but wouldn’t hurt housekeeping to run a broom or vacuum over the floors. Oh and there’s no hair dryer.

No carpeting, clean simple room.

No coffee in room or office. They stated due to Covid. Come on, really? You can't put out a coffee pot in the office?

The room was vintage Motel 6 - everything a traveller needs to stay overnight, and that's it. No need to pay for more

I actually staied here twice ones on my way to my first destination and again on my way back home. The stuff was very helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable
