Excellent location. You can walk to all the small city sites. The 10 room boutique hotel had wonderful staff that assisted us on all requests. Room was exceptionally clean for such an old building. Ample free parking right out back. Wonderful oversized tub and rain shower. Excellent room coffee.

Our room air conditioner would not stay on, but it was manageable…just had to keep turning it back on. The free standing wet room needed a bath mat to step on when stepping down to the carpeted floor. Bed pillows were to large and firm for my preference. No option for hot water for tea in room, but staff were gracious and provided hot water for me whenever I asked. Two stories with no elevator…you may want to ask for a first floor room. With all that, I would definitely stay there again, overall a lovely experience.

Clean, comfortable. Close to Freight House Restaurant and lots of boutiques and art galleries. Huge shower with rain head and hand held faucets. Great fresh brewed coffee in the lobby. Wonderful staff who gave us lots of ideas for food and shopping. Even offered to fill our cooler we had in our car with ice (hottest day of the year!). And the price was reasonable.

Can’t think of one thing that wasn’t good!

staff was VERY helpful and friendly. Had a question in middle of night regarding getting asperin and to my surprise a person was at the desk and awake. Room was comfortable location was perfect with multiple restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance. The rate was very reasonable too.

Checking is the only thing i can think of that may be negative. You have to find a parking space on the street. Parking is available in a lot behind the hotel so not a problem after checking in.

Awesome hotel. The staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are clean and well maintained. This is the perfect stay for couples. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary trip and plan to go there every year. FYI, this is not a hotel that caters to kids, but that’s what makes it perfect for couples, especially those with kids who just need a romantic night out. The location is walking distance to some great locally owned restaurants, bars and stores. We parked on Friday and never had to drive anywhere until we left.

Our room needed more lights.

Arrangement of the bedside tables, charging station should be on both sides of the bed. Also the only way to turn on or off the bedside lights was to get out of bed and flip the wall switch. I had to use my cell phone flashlight to get up in the night because rhere was no way toturn on the light. Vintage lighting around the mirror made it hard to use the mirror.

I loved the boutique style hotel experience at a such a great value. The bed was absolutely the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. The bedding was cozy and gave off a family guest room feel rather than typical hotel feel. I enjoyed interior design and decor very much. I travel for business frequently, and this is the best hotel experience I’ve had thus far.

Old building with modernized rooms; very cool; biggest open air shower (with no separation walls) that I’ve ever encountered. Great bar!

Not a dislike, but old building means no elevator to second floor rooms. Not really an issue for us, but for others, may need to request a 1st floor room if it is.

Wonderful location in Paducah -- clean, modern room. I enjoyed walking to The Freight House and Kirchhoff's Bakery for dinner and breakfast; the river and National Quilt Museum are also within walking distance.

The building's age and past life provides lots of character, but it also means that there is little soundproofing. There was a two-inch gap under the door to my room, which meant I could hear other guests' conversations in the hallway loud and clear. I could also hear a spirited discussion in the room next door, which thankfully didn't last too late into the night.

The 1857 was just the quaint boutique hotel experience we were expecting for my husband’s bday weekend. Our room was spotless, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The bar was a welcome site. Morgan made us fabulous old fashioneds. We had a great time and hope to return soon.

The room that I reserved was not available. I reserved the King Suite that was supposed to have a balcony. The only rooms with a balcony are the condominiums
