1895 Washington Hotel

The place is more like a traditional B&B as you can affordably purchase breakfast and the hotel has adjoining common rooms. The innkeepers are delightful and more than willing to assist. We stayed in the 2nd house next door that is newer than the "Victorian" original home. We had a lovely traditionally equipped room with the Best mattress I have ever slept in. Our private bath had a spa tub and shower. The common space had a sub zero fridge where we could store our travel food. Due to an ice storm we were "stuck" in town an extra night and they easily accommodated our 2nd night in the same room. Anytime we are in Paducah we will stay here again. Simply Delightful!

Like: Beautifully restored hotel accommodations, very comfortable bed, good shower, nice shared breakfast area, price for what we got was good. The room had a terrific looking jacuzzi tub that we did not get a chance to try. Staff was good.

Not Like: A lot of traffic noise, no control of the room temperature, parking on street only. No ice available, we could hear the neighbors' toilets flush, or showers run. The bathroom renovation was really well done, except it was very modern compared to the historic feel of the rest of the accommodations. Required to sign agreement upon check-in stating we would not post a negative review, without the threat of being responsible for a slander lawsuit for 3 years plus financial loss. I will not return because of this one surprise. I think it is a really good value, but did not like being asked to sign such an agreement upon check in.

Liked having our own bath, and a quite nice one. The decorations were lovely. Other than the sink, the bathroom was quite elegant. The beds were comfy and it was nice to have access to a kitchen for storing our ice packs and food from our cooler.

The sink in the bathroom was an old kitchen style sing with a washboard on one side with no place to sit things securely. The sink had either a stain or no enamel in one section. The rest of the bathroom was beautifully done. It would be nice to have a small table and some hooks there and in the room itself as there is no closet.

The restoration and fixtures was very well done! I liked being able to read about the ‘story’ of the house. Hist was friendly and helpful.

I would have liked for a clearer explanation of when breakfast was served. Most of B&Bs I have stayed in serve for a specific time, start to finish. Since breakfast here was an add on, telling me breakfast was served from 8:00 - 9:00 meant, implied it would be ready at 8:00 and available until 9:00. I arrived at 7:30 to have coffee, but it was not ready, and then at 8:10 I was asked if I was ready for breakfast? They said they would begin preparation. From their perspective they were doing what they had said, from mine they were not. Since I was the only breakfast person, their way makes the most sense; fix upon demand. Just make sure breakfast eaters understand the process. Food and presentation were just fine.

Such a cool property. Updated nicely while keeping the old charm. We didn't see any other guests while there so we may have had the guest house to ourselves? Quiet, relaxing, slept well. Over all it was worth the value and if we are every through again, we'd definetly stay here

We found a fairly large spider crawling on the wall in our room. The location was kind of off the beaten path. Which I guess is kind of nice but we arrived late and the street and neighborhood were very dark and earie.

The place is beautiful and historic and wonderfully appointed and the staff is very nice.

I thought my bed was very comfortable, but my friend thought hers was a little too soft for her taste. To get downtown was a mile walk that was a little warm and not especially charming at first until the end of it. I just wish it was closer to downtown but I can’t fix that. Downtown Paducah is very charming and has so much architectural beauty.

It was amazing. The spa tub was relaxing and so nice and clean. George Washington bed was so comfortable. The PRICE was so affordable. I will be staying there each time I am in town... the front desk staff showed us to our room and even gave us some history about the room we were in. She was amazing and so polite and courteous.

After staying in hotels previous nights in different cities, I really enjoyed ending my trip staying at the 1895 Washington Hotel. If given the choice, I would always rather experience a stay in a home setting rather than a hotel/motel. This place is great and very close to all the river commercial district too!

Super quiet, AMAZING hydo-tub, spacious room, friendly staff (who remembered us! this was our 2nd time staying), super great value for what you get, and feels safe. Plus, it has character!

Pillows aren't super comfy, and the policy of not leaving a review unless it's a perfect review (and the threatening wording of the policy) was off-putting and strange to me.

Everything was fantastic! I stayed for two nights, and I will be back if I ever have any more meetings down here. Lindsey was so sweet and was very nice. The jacuzzi tub felt amazing! Everything was clean and very pretty. The bed was the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept on, and got the best sleep. Breakfast was so yummy! Overall this is a fantastic place to say, for such a cheap price!
