Fort Harrison State Park Inn

Room was huge and comfortable. Staff was very helpful with a booking problem we had. The hotel is a beautiful older building but has been completely renovated and has all modern conveniences. It seems secluded and yet is close to restaurants and shopping. The free breakfast was more than adequate.

The bed was a little bit firm, although not terribly so. There is a coffee maker in the room with two cups provided, but no other cups or glasses are provided for the room, which was a bit of an inconvenience. Parking can be a problem during the busier times.

This is my first choice for business trips where I meet clients in the suburbs. Conveniently located and charming, it's a hotel unlike any other in the metro area. I love the history, how peaceful are the surroundings and friendliness of the staff.

Only thing I can't do is extend the stay via booking.com. I wanted to stay and extra night and would have had to cancel original reservation, rebook and pay another transaction fee. To maintain compliance to travel program, I did not opt to book on own, outside of our program and ended up on night two in a freezing cold hotel in downtown Indy.

The queen suite was just right for us (mom and adult daughter)! It gave us plenty of room and a bit of added privacy. All of the employees were friendly and very helpful. Our requests (fresh towels, extended checkout time) were filled quickly and without a problem. The grounds were very nice, especially the adjacent state park grounds. All in all, this was a great place to stay for our 5 day visit!

We absolutely loved everything about "Fort Harrison State Park Inn". Beautiful historical building furnished with antiques. It was adorable. I'm in love with it. Room was big, beautiful, clean. Bed was very comfortable. Staff members were amazing. Quiet, cozy, lovely, clean, welcoming. Loved large sitting areas. The atmosphere was amazing. We had an unforgettable stay.

The breakfast was like most that are included with the rooms. The staff did keep it stocked as people depleted it. The location was wonderful for getting to the zoo, museum and restuarants. It was out of the hustle bustle of the city and gave us the relaxation after a day of touring. The Inn was quiet and calming. They had a 10 PM curfew so we had no wild parties or kids running up and down the halls. I would say that it is geared towards the business and elder population. Having said that, there is abundant room and trails to take the kids to run out their energy and since the location is right outside the city, parents can take the children out during the day. Our Grand Children enjoyed staying there as much as we did.

clean, comfortable, quaint. I had a great experience. I had a stand up shower with jets. one of them had low pressure but overall my showers were amazing. Lovely staff, good breakfast in the mornings.

the elevator made me think it was going to fall through the floor. it’s an old building though. I took the stairs the remainder of my stay.

It is a beautiful location. Just away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to drive to anywhere. I just love it...so peaceful and WOW what an amazing breakfast! That is by far my favorite part of my stay! Always my go to in Indy!

Had a minor issue with the toilet but the staff was all over it even at midnigbt with a smile!!

It was nostalgic to stay where my father used to work years ago. The architecture and trimmings were wonderful. I’m glad they honored the building’s history rather than replacing the insides with sleek modern decor that has no personality.

It would have been nice to have recycling as well as environmentally-friendly dishes for breakfast. I was surprised to see that they still use Styrofoam.

The building was a beautiful, historical building. I love the different types of rooms. My family stayed in different types of rooms and it was fun to go in and see them. I love the location right next to the park entrance. And I love the spacious bathrooms.

there was paint peeling in the bathrooms. When we checked in the gentleman at the front desk was a little curt and not as friendly as the others that work that weekend.

The Inn was a welcome change from busy hotels. It’s quiet and our kids could run around and burn off energy in the green spaces outside. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance, and the state park is amazing. Be sure to check out the musical swings at the cultural campus down the road.

There isn’t a pool, but we used our Y membership to swim at the nearby Y.
