Van Buren Hotel

Our room was comfortable and very clean. Appreciated the separate living area from the bedroom. When we had noise from a running/jumping child over us, we called after a couple hours to ask for help as it was after 11:00 and we needed it more quiet for sleep. Certainly understand children running out some energy and hated to complain, but we felt it was time for quiet. Its was handled quietly and quickly. Got very quiet and we were able to sleep well!

Would have liked double sinks in the bathroom. Area was a bit small for two people to get ready, but we managed okay. This just would have been a preference, not a need to stay again.

Clean Facilities, Large Comfortable Room, Great Breakfast We needed a last minute place to stay while traveling late and ended up with a King Suite as a result. This room was massive, exceptionally clean, but most importantly an amazing rest with how comfortable the bed was. Bathroom was very large and very clean. Didn't dip in the pool but it was a nice swim area. Last but not least, breakfast tasted home made and delicious.

Pet Policy Price A $50 pet fee for an overnight is very excessive compared to everywhere else. I rated our stay honestly based on my experience, but if our drive was not another five hours away, we never would have stayed on the pet fee alone.

We had to cancel our 1st night at the last minute. We had to go thru booking site to do so who then confirmed with hotel. No issues with that. Very nice room. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Nice breakfast choices.

Room only cleaned 1st night. Other nights had to ask apparently. Staff wouldn't allow our toddler grandson to swim after 10 pm deadline with his parents even though no one else was there. Parents only had limited time due to their personal schedules. Some of the Cereal was stale. Vending machine on main floor wasn't able to give change.

Booking gave us a free room upgrade for being at genius level. Our room was beautiful! A large living room with TV, comfy couch and chair, custom table for 2, kitchenette bar area with bar sink, bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, and thru a French door, a large king bedroom with a wall of windows. All furniture was Amish made!!! We felt like we were staying in a really nice home, rather than a hotel. Breakfast was good. Beautiful lobby area and a warm salt water pool.

Location, very clean, great breakfast, staff.

After speaking with the manager in the morning when checking out. I stated we should have not been put in the room we had. They were working on a construction project next door and started at around 5AM, yes 5AM. He stated they never knew when that crew was going to show up. It really wasn’t the Hotels fault, but still that was the only negative for this property. Otherwise, our stay was nice.

The pool and room was great. it was very clean and comfortable.

The lady that checked us in was not very accommodating. Also the breakfast was from 6:30 to 10. We came down at 8:45. The biscuit and gravy where finish and. Eggs where just about gone and were never refilled. Another guest was not able to even get any. When we asked the lady at the front desk she said we are out. If she was in charge of the breakfast she was never help. Most of the time she was on her phone sitting behind the desk.

The rooms were clean and quiet. The atmosphere was wonderful. We had a great family experience. There were many Amish families staying at the hotel and that was a great experience. Went downtown where there were many quaint shops and it was beautifully decorated for Halloween/Fall. Hearing the horse and buggies going by was such a great relaxing experience in this busy world we live in today.

Room was large and comfortable. .location was good.

Housekeeping did not come to get trash baskets or pick up towels and leave fresh ones for 2 days. Also breakfast buffet was not a buffet - dry cereal, a few muffins, some scrambled eggs or sausage gravy, not enough and very bland. Told no charge for emotional support dogs with documentation. We were charged $75.

The first day he breakfast was terrible, food was cold and very little at 7am. The second day no food left at all by 8am and our final day the sausage links look like they were not cooked and the other items were cold and again this was around 8am. In the main lobby upon checking in there was a pitcher of juice or lemonade, this was drank down to appreciate 1 glass left and that was still sitting as we checked out 3 days later.

Better breakfast, more options and not cold.

Very very clean. Comfortable. Staff was super nice. Cleaning crew were super nice. Close to down town, not walking distance. Nice breakfast included.

Well to tell you the truth, not much. Rooms were a little small. Tv was a little small and not many tv channels but that's nit picking. Really can't complain. I had a good stay.
