Breakfast needs to be updated. Maybe hot eggs, not lukewarm with cold cheese. Gravy was a little runny.

Need to improve breakfast. Also, when I request a ground floor room., which I did receive an e-mail saying my request was accepted, I shouldn't have to challenge the desk person when he tried to put me upstairs. Overall, not as good of service as I had previously experienced. I know there's inflation, but you charge too much, especially for off season.

Our assigned room was SPOTLESS! Also, everything was working properly and they had energy saving lights and switches thru out the room. I looked at the the carpeting and it seemed clean and there were no smells anywhere. The quality of the bedding was good and the towels smelled like bleach (I like that).

The bed seemed a bit narrow for us. Also, the heater woke me up as it cycled on and off but it actually kept the room just right temperature…….just a bit noisy.

We really liked the over all cleanliness of the room, and very comfortable bed. The fact that the concert we were attending was right next door was a big plus, too. The hot breakfast choices of scrambled eggs, bisquits and gravy , waffles,toast, along with fruit, cereal, bagels, cream cheese, coffee, orange juice, and tea was more than adequate. We would stay here again.

The only inconvenience was that our room being on the second floor. My leg was in an aircast and there wasn't an elevator, so the stairs had to be used. If the hotel hadn't already been booked full, we would have asked for a first floor room.

It was in walking distance to the theatre we attended.

There were holes in the wall from a broken recliner in the room. the bathroom door looked like someone had punched it. My husband went to take the iron down to use and the entire unit that was holding the iron and ironing board came off of the wall causing the iron to come flying out and almost hit my head. it looked like it had come off the wall prior and had never been repaired.

Above average for a budget hotel. Nice for an overnight. Just north of the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center - within easy walking distance. Clean. Room was good size and included a recliner. TV channels matched the guide! Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. It doesn't compare to the larger hotels in Shipshewana, but the price is significantly lower. (The listing did not mention microwave and mini-fridge, but the room did have one.)

It could use a little maintenance - just some small items that needed fixing.

It was our annual sister trip and we were happy with the room and service. The breakfast was plentiful and it was great to meet everyone staying there. Mr. Patel checked us in and was very pleasant. We will definitely be back!

My sister has a bad hip so I was glad that I had requested a 1st floor room.

Breakfast was great and much better then I thought it would be. Hotel staff was nice, and got me what I needed, Towels and a new Chair for my Room. They did not bother us, as we stayed for a week. I was able to walk to where I wanted to go in Shipshewana. I love that little place. Food at The Blue Gate was great.

Made a extra stop to Essenhaus Restaurant in Middlebury, and was not as great as it use to be. Our food was cool, and my Turkey when arrived on my plate was gross looking. Back it went. Also waited over 40 minutes for that.

Breakfast could be better if it had a meat otherwise it was good. We couldn't get into our room on the last night, staff tried our keys three times still wouldn't work. He got very angry and was saying very nasty words he couldn't find master key and the boss wouldn't answer his phone which made him more angry. He started kicking our door and then tried key again and it finally opened. We had waited at least 15 minutes or more to get into our room. Then on day we were leaving the ice machine was broke so we couldn't get our cups filled. Seen on the days prior people filling coolers up several people doing this. Staff was not at all friendly or greeted us when checked in and out. Never smiled any of them. Housekeeping couldn't understand anything we were saying, they should have to speak English if they work around English speaking guest. And they looked very dirty and not clean. Don't know if I will ever stay here again.

Staff could greet you and smile and not swear really bad in front of guest. Housekeeping could speak english and beds could be more comfortable and ice should be available if machine is broke. Keys to room should work, shouldn't have to wait forever to get it open. Need to but sign up in breakfast area telling people to please be kind and take your talking back to your room so others have a place to sit to eat. We had to wait on two different days for a table. We would go back to our room and go back after ten minutes put still no table waited another ten minutes and the same people were still just talking not eating at three tables. Finally a kid just reading said we could sit with him. So something needs to get done about this.

The front desk host was very friendly. The place was clean. Breakfast was good and was a full breakfast not just a muffin. Rooms are decent. We stayed 1 night and it was an adequate hotel for our stay. It is well worth the money for how close you are to the shops and everything.

The hotel is in the perfect location for our stay. It is always clean.

Our room was very damp, humid. They need a dehumidifier on the air conditioning. I saw 2 roach bugs in our room.
