Holiday Inn Wichita East I-35, an IHG Hotel

Everything about the property was good.

The real issue is that some of the staff have poor customer service. Front desk was good, and the young lady at the bar was really great; it’s the maintenance staff that rubbed my wife and I the wrong way. More specifically the night shift crew on the night of July 21. We had dirty sheets…and instead of receiving folded clean sheets, on of the maintenance staff members handed my wife sheets all balled up with an attitude. I had to go downstairs and talk to the front desk crew for a whole new bed spread. The same gentleman from before handed me the new bed set, still with poor customer service. I suggest having that crew go through proper customer service training.

The catered food and facilities were wonderful but the lady attending the bar for the event was completely incapable and served drinks other than what was ordered, appeared to be operating under the influence of something that was limiting her mental and physical abilities. This was the only thing that was frustrating about the evening and experience for us. Others attending the event also made comments questioning her competency and said mistakes had been made with their orders as well. The orange juice she was serving to mix in drinks also appeared to have soured and was not drinkable. Very disappointing when these first responders and their families are there to enjoy an evening together and received subpar service.

The lobby had several areas for conversation and one area for watching tv. It was also decorated nicely for Christmas. The gym and indoor pool looked tempting, but we didn't have a chance to utilize them. Our room was located on the fourth floor, it was spacious, clean and overall a comfortable space. The bed was very comfortable as well. We also enjoyed the service at the restaurant. The food was delicious! The staff was quite helpful.

We liked the size of the room and how clean it was. We also like that it's located near our family that we came to visit. The hotel is very stylish and well kept. The staff was friendly. There was extra coffee to enjoy in the morning, next to checkout.

The hotel does not have a free breakfast. The king size bed was hard. There was a wedding being held in the convention room so the place was noisy and people were slamming doors late in the night.

Great location, gorgeous hotel, clean, spacious room. The room was basically two separate areas, bedroom, bathroom and then door to living room with a kitchen and sofa bed (very comfortable for our teenager). Very friendly and helpful staff.

Was a bit of confusion due to flight delay and ended up staying 2 nights instead of three Was charged a no show fee. Was later retracted and only billed for 2 nights. Staff helped me resolve right away.

I was there for state cross country meet. The hotel was very nice and my room was very nice. Expected some noise from teenage teams, so no surprise there. I

I was however very disappointed in the buffet at the attached restaurant. I got there at 7 am and most of the serving dishes were either empty or cold. The wait staff was standing around talking and not making sure the Buffett was taken care of or asking diners if they needed anything, I ordered hot tea which I never got. The buffet was rather expensive and certainly not worth it.

The restaurant was good. Good location. When an issue arise they changed our room. Staff was nice.

The pool was cold and packed all night, the refrigerator in the room was making a weird sound and when open it became smoky in the room. Tons of teenagers running down the halls and they were very loud early in the morning. They told us the restaurant closed at 11, they didn't tell us that the food stopped at a earlier time so we had to find a place to eat.

Loved the facility itself. The room was good size and clean. Staff was wonderful. It's close to a lot of restaurants. The fact that the hotel considered our request of wanting to be on the top floor and fulfilled it, was wonderful! Beds are comfortable.

I love/hate the location in the sense that it's right off of Highway 54 and the traffic noise is not so great. Parking lot is pretty small for this hotel.

i didn’t like that we booked a room for 4 people included breakfast but only 2 people got actually free breakfast and we had to pay for the other two, it wasn’t a bad price and good breakfast but it just doesn’t make sense to book and pay for a room for 4 people but then the breakfast was only included for 2 but other than that we had a good stay and the staff was very friendly

The location was great. Everyone on staff was exceptionally friendly and efficient. The room was clean and nicely decorated. I enjoyed the attached restaurant/ bar. Above all, as a woman travelling alone, I felt very safe.

Breakfast was very good but not included in the basic price.
