Hyatt Place Boston/Medford

Very clean, ample parking, wonderful and very helpful staff.

The in room bathroom was poorly designed. I very much disliked the sink outside of the toilet and shower. I like to brush my teeth and groom myself right after getting out of the shower before getting dressed and found this difficult to do with the way the room was set up. There are no shelves and only two small hooks to hang a towel and clothing on. There needs to be some kind of shelf to put things on, such as glasses, phone, personal hygiene products, etc. also, a few more hooks/ towel racks. There was also black spots/stains on the ceiling overtop the shower. Otherwise the room was very nice.

The very friendly and courteous staff that helped us with understanding transportation in and out of town, Mike was very helpful when we arrived as well as Ray who helped with transportation when The online options wouldn't work. He assisted and provided us with a taxi driver who we called on the day before we left as well as a very early airport ride the day we left. Everyone was very kind and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and Ramona is very sweet and welcoming in the morning. The shuttle driver that took us to one of the plazas was also very kind, helpful, and prompt.

Can't think of anything that we were not happy with, may have been nice to have a microwave. Other than that, nothing, we plan to come back and have recommended it to family and friends.

Free breakfast was great, the staff were very accommodating, and the hotel room was as advertised. The bedding was comfortable, the AC worked well, and all the amenities in the room were functional. It was a good size for our stay.

We were only given three towels for a five-person, two night stay. We also had to call down twice for extra blankets for the pullout, as they were never brought the first time. We could also tell some parts of the room (namely the bathroom) were ageing/not updated, but we understand the hotel was undergoing renovations at the time. None of these things would prevent us from staying again.

I always like staying at this property.

what I didn’t like was one of the front desk personnel. I had food delivered but they had forgotten utensils. I went downstairs to the front desk but no one was there. After looking around I found the person who had checked me in, she was hovering over a computer screen with another person. I asked if she had a plastic fork, I got no answer. I asked again this time I guess loud enough to interrupt and she informed me that she was out of forks but that she had spoons. I said a spoon would be great and then I waited and waited, while my food got cold. I then had to ask again and she finally got up and gave me a spoon. Definitely not the customer service I expect from a Hyatt. There was no sense of urgency, no politeness. It left me shaking my head…

The rooms are really comfortable, and provided you ask for the rooms to be cleaned they do a great job. The WiFi is perfect, and you can actually park behind the hotel free and it is very convenient. The breakfast is good, and there is free coffee and tea all the time. The pool and gym are good. Location is excellent, you can walk to nearby restaurants, and there are bus connections to the centre of Boston, or you can pay the outrageous parking prices in the city! It is a good location to drive to nearby attractions in the city and north along the coast, or nearby parks. Staff are excellent.

We were on the 5th floor and the noise from the motorway was quite noticeable. The breakfast was OK, but I really with there wasn't so much plastic everywhere. Why do you wrap an apple in clingfilm??

Staff all were fantastic particularly Anthony at the front desk and Ramona in the breakfast room, wonderful personalities and excellent representatives of the hotel.

Cleanliness in rooms could be better.

The staff members where excellent except the man on my last day was rude to me over me not using the parking garage. The room was perfect and peaceful clean and the staff tending the front desk and bar were beyond exceptional. Except the man at the end.

On my last day the morning i was leaving I brought my parking pass back down because i had parked on the back parking lot and wasn't sure id need it the underground parking and was told that when I leave to just bring it back and they would give me my money back because i didn't use the parking. When i brought it down to the desk the guy snatched it and says no you still have to pay for parking even in the back. I explained to him I didn't use the underground parking and was told i could get a refund. he was rude and i didn't want to fuss as my sister funeral was that day and i just wanted to leave.

The staff was all extremely nice and helpful. Great group! It was nice to have real cups in the rooms not just paper/plastic like most do.

Ice was not on every floor, walked down one to find ice (which another person staying mentioned to us the locations while we were walking the halls) and there was no ice, then had to walk two flights back up to find ice machine working. Then back down one more to our floor. The pool was down x2 while we were there so we never got to use it. This was the reason I picked this hotel. :-(

Friendly staff at the front desk, and Ramona’s excellent people skills in the dining area were superb! She is a gem and does a great job making guests feel at home. Bed was comfortable and bed linens were nice.

Being an older hotel, it does need a renovation, which according to the signs in the hotel, that should be starting soon. We travel down to Boston ‘s Dana Farber Cancer Institute from Maine…a 5 hour drive each way several times a year. It would be nice if Hyatt offered a medical rate.

I totally loved this hotel! The staff was so friendly and felt very home like vibes... there was always someone to help at front desk.. the breakfast was fresh and delicious. The dinner restaurant option was really good.. we absolutely loved our host Raymond! He was the best! Super sweet and suggested great restaurants in the area walking distance

Very little minimal things like no safe in room and the bed was really stiff for my liking but overall happy
