The property itself is older, but they have made a great effort to update and improve the facilities. The grounds were beautiful. The setting was right on the Charles River, with outdoor seating to take advantage of the location. A lovely gazebo and a pond were also located on the large expanse of green space. Near the property was a marina where you could rent watercraft to leisurely paddle the river.

As mentioned, the property was older, and there was some need of repair on the balcony. Only the second floor of the property had balconies. Unfortunately, a large event tent sat squarely in front of our balcony, obscuring most of the view of the river. It was not in use the weekend of our stay, but, I can imagine the noise might be a problem for those rooms facing the river if there was an event.

concierge was great. Breakfast items were great (except the billing issue, see comment below). It was clean. Bar was great. We loved it.

Breakfast issue. We paid for the breakfast for the family of four (two parents, and two kids) when we booked the hotel (it asks number of people and age too). However, at the hotel, during the breakfast, the staff stated that only two are covered, NOT all four, and said "but we will take care of you.") I spoke also to the concierge as well but she said I do not need to pay. Issue was that I have to state that rest of the two mornings too so that they would not charge to my room. If you fix this, that would be great.

it was a good hotel, nothing more nothing less.

no breakfast with the room included, at $220 a night it should be. the hotel charges $23 for a Breakfast buffet. i refuse to pay $23 for hotel bacon and eggs and concentrated orange juice, and watered down coffee, i went and got food off the property. hotel store in lobby closes, cant buy bottles water or snacks after a certain time. hotel store in lobby rings sales from the Starbucks built in, waiting on like almost 7 mins to buy water while the one employee took 7 mins to make one persons coffee drink order. with 3 more people online, i put the water back and went to wawa for water. where obviously its also cheaper

The rooms had great views of the river and my wife and I were able to use the walking trails to sit on the river itself. Rooms were spacious and had several amenities. Location was convenient to drive to and there was plenty of parking.

The Starbucks kiosque wasn't up to the same quality one would get at a traditional location. The drinks were on the weaker side and prices were inflated by virtue of them being in the hotel lobby. I would've expected a better drink for $10.

The hotel staff surprised us with cheesecakes and fruit for my and my wife’s anniversary, so curtious, we told them there was a hole in ceiling because we didn’t want to get charged, offered to change our room, we declined but then surprised us with free breakfast coupons. Everyone was so nice. Pool area was very nice and clean, which it was guarded and less wet, but it is a pool area.

There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like, because everyone was so nice.

The surroundings near a large lake created by the charles river and with kayaks for rent available, nice grass area by the lake with sitting areas, a starbucks inside and restaurant with view to the charles river

many rooms have view to the parking lot and difficult far access to reception or outdoor grassy area, so they sell you a beautiful view but you end up with an awful view and no easy access to the river margin area, a fence preventing you from actually getting to the river, have to walk by the road to get to the rental kayaks, indoor pool is awful as its really indoor without a window or any slight ray of sun coming in, small for such a large hotel

Spread out, great room with river view, easy access to hotel and it's parking lot, a few of the front desk staff were very helpful.

The room, while nice, had not been thoroughly cleaned. Dust on surfaces. No room service after the first night for a 3 night stay. Given the stage that we have now reached vis-a-vis Covid, this just appears to be a sorry excuse to charge customers while not providing service. If you are not going to provide service after day 1 for a 3 night stay then you should charge customers significantly less on days 2 and 3. Just tell yourselves that we are moving out and moving back into the same room each night!

manager on duty was exceptionally helpful. she even came up to the room to help with WiFi. what was BEST was that they used cleaning products that did not cause a headache or make me ill. unlike most other Marriotts that seem to use Ecolab products that seem toxic and make me ill, this place was clean and comfortable. thank you!!

good choice of cleaning products very tasteful decor in rooms

I needed a room while my husband was having surgery so I left at odd time to pick him up… checked out at 10pm and turned in key card to desk attendant. The attendant took my key card not alerting me to the fact that I needed it to get out of the parking lot. That was my only negative about stay… I was stuck at the parking gate and had to leave my car there, walk back to hotel lobby to get a key card activated to get out of lot.

Excellent stay. Comfy room. Service was fast. The other hotel facilities looked nice. This is a really good value for your money. Rather cheap for greater Boston area.

A bit noisy and chaotic with some children's swim competition. Apparently a lot college teams use this hotel as well. Didn't really bother me - just something to consider if you're sensitive.
