Marv Herzog Hotel

The room was very nice, beds to be honest were a little old & the mattress sagged somewhat, however it was quiet & had all of the facilities we needed - the shower was great. The location is great. Cleanliness was a bit hit & miss, the room was clean but the coffee or tea stain all down the wall behind the door of the room looked as if it had been there for a long time & the toilet by the bar needed a good clean. Breakfast was very good & the evening drinks were a lovely bonus.

The mattress needed replacing in our room & the toilet by the breakfast area was not cleaned during our 3night stay - someone had been sick on the inside of the lid............

We loved the convenient location and the balcony overlooking the river. The children enjoyed waiving at the Riverboat that passed our hotel room multiple times a day. Also, the breakfast was delicious! We were impressed at all of the options— eggs, salsa, cheese, sausage, seasoned potatoes, biscuits, peppered gravy, cereal, milk, make your own waffles, peanut butter, bagels, bread, muffins, etc. The under-hotel parking was a nice option too. The staff were incredibly friendly. This was a very relaxing stay for our family…!

Our garden tub had large cracks around the top, where it needed to be caulked again. Some of the facilities are starting to look worn and needing an update.

Location was great. View from river balcony was superb. Room was very accommodating. Bed was most comfortable. Mary on the front desk was polite and funny. The lady doing the Sunday night snack and drink event was also very nice and went the extra mile to ensure we were well taken care of.

Should put a fan in the bathroom. It would be nice to have had some umbrellas on the patio to keep the sun and heat off you in the morning enabling the possibility of enjoying breakfast out there. The scrambled eggs on Monday morning were not up to par. Tuesday morning had better eggs.

Really liked the place and the employees here were so very nice. The price of our room was really good and hopefully it don't raise the price after getting good reviews because we wouldn't be able to stay there again. That happened before! The room was nice and most of all the employees were super nice to us. We liked the offer they gave us two free drinks and snack at the end of the evening from 5-7pm I think it was. that was a surprise for us. They had a nice breakfast as well. Perfect spot for walking up and down the main area. Didn't have to take the truck out the whole time we were there. Thank you for the great stay!

The part we didn't like was not their fault but ours, we couldn't stay longer.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The building was absolutely beautiful. I loved the architecture and devotion to the history behind the building. Room was cozy and quiet. Hot breakfast each day and the staff helped us with our children (who always need a little something extra), which I sincerely appreciated. Everyone was just so kind there and I felt very comfortable. The view is beautiful too. Right on the river with a balcony overlooking and a front view of the city. Also the parking garage was especially nice to have as it’s both private and keeps your car cool and shaded during the hot summer and snowy winters. Just a restful experience overall.

Honestly couldn’t say there was anything I didn’t like. My family and I needed a break very badly and we got exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, spacious, friendly, great access to the city, beautiful view…I could go on.

The room was nothing fancy but the staff were very friendly. The free underground parking was nice as well since it was raining when we were checking out. They also provide free drinks and snacks in the evening for guests and a great hot breakfast in the morning. The hotel was right in the heart of downtown and close to my favourite chicken restaurant (Zehnders). We walked there easily in under 5 minutes. We also had a room overlooking the street so we could sit out on the balcony and watch as people walked by.

If you're a light sleeper, you might try requesting a room at the back towards the river view, as you could very faintly hear the car and people traffic on the main road if they were being loud. Otherwise, it was a great spot!

Both the cocktail hour and breakfast were decent, but the menu was the same for all of the time we stayed there. A slight variation would have worked wonders---just a slight change so it would not have been the same. The coffee at breakfast was labeled bold, but it was thin and flavorless. We went out every day to get better coffee, a ridiculous expense.

The booking and check-in processes were very straightforward. The hotel is placed at an ideal location, close to downtown Frankenmuth, shops, and the brewery. The Christmas decorations were beautiful, adding to the cleanliness and neatness of the hotel. The room was pleasantly well-seated next to the street with a private balcony. We appreciated a no-smoking zone for the hotel. The underground parking connected to the hotel made loading our luggage into and out of the hotel much easier. The service provided us with complimentary drinks for our stay. It was a quiet place to relax after exploring the town.

We kept hearing noise above our room, like someone banging on the floor in the middle of the night. The walls were thin, so you could hear noise in the hallway and from other rooms.

We have stayed at other Drury properties, and this was very similar. Clean rooms, friendly staff, always hot coffee available. Parking was easy to access. Great deck and balcony in our room overlooking a river.

There are some amenities not that are not offered at this location: fitness center, pool. The breakfast was good and hot with a great variety, but the evening happy hour and snacks were a little less than at other Drury properties we have stayed at, but still good.

The room is in good shape and the housekeeping staff is great. The location is wonderful. Having a balcony and river view is great.

The breakfast does not change menu items ever. They scrambled eggs are very hard. Can they swap out omelettes like Holiday Inndoes? Can they swap out bacon for sausage? Can they offer fresh cut melon? The breakfast is expansive but they really need to change things up for us that stay 4-5 days.
