Holiday Inn Midland, an IHG Hotel

This hotel was very attractive and the room we had was quite large and very clean, with comfortable beds. The pool was great! A nice plus to have poolside service from the restaurant! Also nice to have thr option to add breakfast to the room.

The breakfast on Monday (our first morning) had a nice selection, but the food was poorly made. Tuesday was better, however. Also very annoying, and the reason the hotel didn't get an "excellent" rating, was having the room keys "turned off" each morning. The front desk staff denied this, but we observed many people getting their keycards renewed. The second morning it happened before checkout, so we had to renew the card just to finish packing and get our luggage.

We LOVED that this hotel had an AWESOME restaurant/bar attached. Both the hotel staff and restaurant staff were friendly and attentive! The bartenders even kept my water glass full!!!! That is rare these days. The food was great! We also loved the hotel room! The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were perfect. We also had control of the room temperature with the thermostat! We like to sleep in a very COOL room and were able to do that!

The hot tub was was being repaired and we couldn't use it. We were disappointed but realize these things happen.

Adult swim time. The inside/outside split hot tub. Friendly staff. The rooms were classy and we appreciated the cupboards, coffee maker, larger refrigerator and sink! And hallways did not have the weird, musty smell like most do.

No safe in the room. Didn't like that the breakfast was an extra charge; build it into the price of every room. It seems valid to charge extra to be able to cancel 24 hours ahead of time, but not breakfast

All the staff that we encountered had wonderful personalities! Everyone had a smile and all were very kind! The front desk even kept our ice packs from our cooler in their freezer, before our 7 hour drive home on Sunday, since we did not have one in our room.

The door to enter the building, nearest our room was a little tricky to open, you had to yank very hard! Sadly, we couldn't use the pool on the night we wanted to because another child had a bloody nose in the pool.

The room was comfortable. The king suite with the in room bathtub was very relaxing! Breakfast in the neighboring restaurant/bar was delicious and the staff was very friendly and quick. The hotel appeared clean and tidy.

My only complaint was that my room was near the front entrance and the music was playing all night long. I expected it to turn off at some point but it stayed on all night and was able to be heard with the windows closed.

The breakfast situation was a little weird, there was a continental buffet style and also ordering options (both in a restaurant). it wasn’t clear that if you had a food voucher you could order off the menu and use the voucher towards that. I would have gone that route in hindsight because the buffet food was pretty bad.

I really enjoyed the duo hot tub and the game room for the kids. Also like the attached bar and restaurant.

I didn't like that you had to pay extra for breakfast, I felt like some kind of breakfast should have been included for the price you have to pay for your stay then if you want to "upgrade" your breakfast you pay.

The breakfast coupons were unexpected and greatly appreciated. The facilities were clean and located near Dow Gardens which is where our nephew's wedding was held. Close by other restaurants and shopping which was convenient.

Construction on 10!!! Not your problem, but that was the only negative thing that I could think of!

Very friendly staff. Great food. Pool was clean, water warm and outdoor hot tub was fabulous and beautiful watching it snow while sitting in it. Close to all shopping and entertainment.

Noise from a wedding reception music bass was booming in our room. Not real loud but loud enough to be irritating. Reception on third floor we were on the first. Must have been other complaints because we only heard it for about an hour. Bedding was very hot felt like a polyester blend.

The facility and room were clean. We didn't use the pool, but my son liked it, and he is going to suggest this facility to his tennis team for their next match in Midland. We also liked the restaurant's outdoor seating area.

I rated this facility as good and not excellent because there was no Electric vehicle charging. When I call the front desk a day before, they told me they'd provide an outlet for me to use. But, when I arrived, I guess there were different people behind the front desk, and they told me they don't offer an outlet for me to hock up to my electric vehicle. I was lucky that a Ford dealership close by, 0.2 miles away they had a charging station, and I used that one. Thank you, Ford!
